I found a new dry cleaner! ABC Cleaners recently cleaned my daughter's wedding dress. The wedding was outdoors, and so the dress was soiled on the bottom. I don't use a dry cleaners or need alterations often, but when I do, it's always ABC Cleaners as my one stop shop. Tiffany is always so friendly and efficient whether I'm dropping off or picking up. The prices are reasonable, and significantly of better value than other dry cleaners. I can get my large king comforter washed for less than $50. The alteration fees are reasonable also. I can save $2 when hemming pant legs if I bring them in pinned already. They can alterate difficult things like bringing in the sides to this vacation dress I bought for the Bahamas (pictured). Items are ready when promised and the timing is very reasonable. They won't take 2 weeks to wash a comforter. The alterations are efficient as well. I'll never go anywhere else. Alterations! I haven't needed any since moving to the area, and when the need arose, I asked a local friend and was surprised that she suggested the dry cleaners as her go-to for alterations. My bridesmaids dress for my brother's (tiny, 18-person covid-safe) wedding showed up ~5" too long in length and ~3" too long in the straps. I called ahead to see if I need an appointment, and the answer was no. She said to just come during business hours whenever it suited me. She also let me know that, due to covid safety, the pinning and measurements would go a little differently bc they couldn't come within six feet of me. Instead, I'd need to pin the desired lengths myself, but they'd look at it on me and give me feedback based on where I'd set the pins. I was nervous about seeing the back of my dress, so I asked if my husband could come with me to help pin and she said yes. Otherwise, they're serving one customer at a time and asking anyone else to wait outside. We went in the next day, I stepped into the small dressing room, my husband pinned my steps and bottom of my dress, I stepped out and did a twirl at the front desk, got a nod from their seamstress that it looked good, and I changed back into my normal clothes. We went over pricing which was affordable and fair and we're on our way within ten minutes. My dress was ready for pickup 5 days later and looked very nice! read more

I brought in my three suits as well as my son's suit (and shirt) to get dry cleaned. The owner was very professional. For some reason I forgot one of the slacks of my suit. I came the next day and dropped it off. She says she will make sure it will be finished on the same date as my original drop off. I came a few hours ahead of the time. This was clearly my mistake. She told me to give her 5-10 minutes and she will have it ready. Within a few minutes she had it all ready. Regarding my suits. One had a stain on the sleeve....GONE! I like to have my work clothes dry cleaned depending on the fabric and have them neatly pressed. Due to the high cost of dry cleaning, I only dry clean my silks and wools. ABC has dry cleaned at least 20 of my shirts without any issues. Sometimes I'd notice that some tops come back less firmly pressed than I'd like with a bit of wrinkles here and there. They are however willing to work with you, are knowledgeable and don't damage silks. Good enough. read more

My duvet covers desperately needed a cleaning and looked to my beloved Yelp (of course) to assist in finding a dry cleaner in San Carlos. Called ahead to find out the cost, which was by far the most reasonable of all that I contacted at $16.99!! Service is friendly, from the person who answered the phone to the staff that greeted and assisted me. Turned out that the cleaning costs was cheaper than previously quoted (as I didn't need to have them pressed, just cleaned). Sweetness! Dropped them off on a Saturday before COB, and would be ready by Wednesday at 4pm. Anywho, I happened to be in the 'hood on Tuesday evening, a full day before the duvets would be ready, and popped into ABC. Was totally OK with them not being done, but was willing to take a chance. Guess what? It must've been my lucky day as not only did I not hit any traffic driving on 101 South, but also because my duvets were ready!! Woohoo... (really, it's just the lil' things that make me happy)!!! Even better that there's a dish of Brachs candies (my fav) by the cash register! Yipee!! Thank you ABC. They're the cheapest place in my area so I thought I'd check em out and I am very satisfied. I even had a stain they got out . I'll definitely come back to this place. Don't use ABC Cleaners!! Definitely trust your clothes with another cleaners! We had used these guys a couple of times and were pretty happy with the results but this last time they returned a business top of mine with big yellow-brown splotches they were not there when I handed off the clothes to them. I've attached pictures so you can see what the top looked like once they returned it back to us. What I dislike most about ABC Cleaners is that instead of owning up to their mistake and admitting that they obviously messed up they decided to lie and insist that the splotches were there when the top was dropped off to them. 100% inaccurate as there were zero stains like the ones the top has now. First of all, most of employees here do not speak English. They call somebody who speaks English to deal with customers. Otherwise, they expect you to speak Korean or Chinese. Next, they treat cloth you give them like trash and throw it in their baskets with other people's cloth. They are very disorganized and not reliable. I brought a sweater for alteration. I specifically asked to call me if there is any problem. Nobody called me. When I came there on the scheduled day to pick up my sweater, my sweater was not ready and was in the basket rolled like trash together with another people's dirty cloth. One of the employees, took it out and then rolled it again like piece of dirt and thrown it again in the same basket. They had a problem doing a job and they did not bother to call. They were not able to explain to me in English their problem, they had to call somebody who speaks English to speak with me. They have not solved my problem. Highly do NOT recommend this place to anybody. read more

It never ceases to amaze me how few dry cleaners understand their target market. You know who needs dry cleaning? People who WORK. Do you know when most people work? 9-5, M-F. Those are the hours that they need to be in the office, which means that they probably leave for work by 8 and don't get home until 6, especially in a commuter town like San Carlos. I decided to give these guys a chance since they were supposedly open from 7:30-6:30 M-F, plus hours on Saturday AND Sunday as well. That's rare in the idiot world of dry cleaners. Well today I showed up at 7:30 and it wasn't open yet. Another gentlemen walking in to the donut shop next door saw me waiting and asked "Are you waiting for Philip? Good luck!" Bad sign. I waited until 7:45 and then had to bail because I had a 7:55 train to catch. Stick with San Carlos Plaza Dry Cleaners, which is logically open from 7-7 M-F. I had to dry clean my husbands dress suit on a Friday. So I called several places to check their availability. Since I need to pick up on Monday, most cleaners did not want to take my order. And I called Abc cleaner last and let them know I was in a hurry. this very nice lady told me she would do it for me. She said usually they did not accept orders for the weekend but she would do it for me. And then they would just flat it for me first thing in the morning on Monday so I can pick up early Monday morning. When you do business, nothing can stop you from being successful if you work hard and nice. I haven't picked up my order yet but I am giving 5 stars to this attitude of doing business! read more

This place does the job right about 95% of the time. If anything, it is usually that they forget to do something extra, such as a hem or a button repair. We have never had the experience of them damaging any garment, and we give them some pretty challenging stuff to do. The guy who presumably owns the place is quite friendly and has even given us discounts (just because we asked). He does remind me frequently that he has the cheapest prices in town.
