Water is constantly out of service. We shut down our camper this weekend for the last time staying here and received a notice that the water was shut off again throughout the whole campground. Everyone who wasn't us had no water to close their camper the next day. This place is basically a dump. It was a decent camp when we came, but in 3 years we were here it became trash. There is no upkeep and Tessa is literally the worst manager ever. She's not friendly and would rather be on her phone or watching TV. read more

This was an overnight stay for us; we booked one night as we were traveling. Received the email confirmation and nothing else. The administrative processes are not travel friendly and this operates as primarily a seasonal campground. - Showed up to registration at approximately 1815 hrs and the office was locked up. We were charged for the night, so we completed a virtual check in. - We received check in emails TWO HOURS after we pulled onto our site. We were supposed to print something out (yeah, let me plug my printer in... ) to show that we were "supposed" to be there. - NEVER saw an employee. The cost for the lack of maintenance was not worth it: - Bathrooms are not centrally located. - We had to hook up to the water: the water on the campsite smelled like sulphur (rotten eggs) - do they operate a public water supply that is not required to be treated? We used bottled water and didn't shower. - There was improper drainage: a culvert and ditch adjacent to the campsite was full of standing water, breeding nice lovely bugs. - The site was once a tent site. Pulled off the road and was four feet off the main camp road. - The tow vehicle was two feet from a massive boulder, which was supposed to be a pull through site. - Pulling offsite was a sketchy business because so many other campsites have additional buildings, dodads, etc., which encroach on the teeny gravel roads. - Buildings (cottages?) looked run down and unkempt. Courtesy: - Golf carts and vehicles alike travel the road late at night; most vehicles are well above the posted 10 mph speed limit. - Most campsite drivers have no interest in getting "stuck" behind someone towing; they will gladly speed up to get ahead of you, even if it means cutting you off. - Other campers were not all that friendly - we walked the route we were going to use to pull off and everyone just stared. It's the most bizarre camping experience I have ever had. This was not a favorable experience for us. read more

Not a bad place, I just wish it was a little better. It's HUGE with more than 500 sites, so the map they give you is necessary. It's reasonably well maintained. Not as good as some, better than others. It's shaded heavily so there is not so much grass as reasonably mowed weeds. My dog apparently doesn't appreciate weeds for her restroom. I probably would give it average if it were not for three complaints. One it's near the highway... great for getting here and leaving. It's has been VERY loud though. Almost to the point of being difficult to communicate while outside the RV, and certainly a problem for some people who sleep lightly. It's also dusty. The roads are gravel and there is enough traffic to turn my bright blue Jeep grey. We just spent $90 having the RV and Jeep washed. Lastly, I went up to the desk and asked where the laundry was. "Bath house 3" was the response. They gave me a map... as was needed to navigate to number three. Once there I was underwhelmed to find not 25 washers, not 10, but only 4.... We have used four by ourselves. I wonder how many you need for 1500 people? More than 4. In all fairness they may have some that are out of service somewhere, but hey now I have a dirty clothes problem to go with my dirty Jeep. OK let's revisit that score, now a 1 rather than a 2... While at the bath house 3 laundry, my wife stepped into the women's side of the place to use the restroom... she came out gaging about five minutes ago and is still not OK. Sh says it was beyond any grossness she has ever experienced. She used the word "Satanic" among many others. So we drop from 3 to 2 to 1.... That's the best I can do. My suggestion is to find another RV Resort. We considered just leaving, but by the time our clothes are dry the sun will be headed down, and it's too late to drive to the next stop. read more

We reserved Premier Cottages 4 & 6 in July 2024 and paid around $1,500 for 4 nights. When we arrived at the campground, we were met with poor customer service by rich and a female staff member. They were rude, condescending, and unaccommodating. We arrived a little early and were told we could not check in until EVERY cabin/cottage had been cleaned. Check in is at 3 PM. We did not get our keys until 4 PM, right before the office closed. Our cabins had dirty bathrooms. One cabin was missing a smoke detector. One was missing all of the patio chairs. In one of the cabins the oven started smoking when we preheated it because it was dirty. We had to clean it ourselves and open the sliding glass door to air it out. We had 2 disabled people with us that use canes and are unable to walk long distances. There is 1 handicap parking space near the pool. Clearly not enough for an entire campground. It is not disability inclusive at all. We ran out of toilet paper. At no time does anyone check to see if you need extra toilet paper, towels, etc. They show a waterslide at one of the pools on the campground map. It doesn't exist. The arcade was locked and had signs on the door stating, "sorry for the inconvenience". We had ants all around one of the kitchen sinks and trash can. We were cooking and washing dishes one day and the water suddenly stopped working. I tried to call the emergency phone number and received a message stating that in order to receive a call back I had to leave a voicemail. Well...that was impossible because the voicemailbox was full. We brought a projector and screen to watch movies at night. The outdoor outlets didn't work. There is not a single positive thing I can say about our experience which is sad because we have stayed many times previously. It has completely gone downhill. read more

This is my first time here at this campground, and I may go back in the future. We stayed two nights and cost $306 for a one bedroom cabin with an AC unit and mini fridge. Also outside is a picnic table, fire pit, and charcoal grill. We also rented a golf cart for $60 a day, but I thought it was a little pricey. It should be like $40 a day. They did have a food truck Friday night. However, it left at 7 pm, and they had no where posted times of trucks, so they had no idea how long they would be there. They have a nice mini golf cart, which was free to play. I thought it was nice. Two pools were a good size. However, the hot tub was out of order. They also advertised a snack shack, which looks run down and not even open or usable. The acrade was pretty small, with a few games that didn't look too bad. Looks like they used to have a theater. However, it was run down and closed off no longer used. They have a catch and release pond. However, the people that work they must not keep up with it because there was trash all over the ground and overflowing trash cans. The Benches don't look like they have been replaced in years. It would only take a few new planks of wood. For members paying $6,000 a year to have a site, I assumed more Amenities would have been taken care of better. All in all, it's not awful but not great. read more

We went "glamping" in Premier Cabin 2 at the Drummer Boy CampIng Resort near Gettysburg from Sunday to Tuesday. It was close to the pond and had a secluded nook with a fire pit for our cabin. The kids (boy, 14, and girl, 15) had fun fishing at the pond every day. We brought rods. (Pro tip: Cut up hot dogs worked the best for bait. We caught nothing with worms.) There are two pools, a front pool and a back pool with a big water slide. Slide was fun, but the kids said it was slow. It's probably more fun for younger kids. Some reviews mentioned a fee for the slide, but there wasn't one when we went on Monday. It's a good distance from the pond - would recommend driving or taking a golf cart. You can rent a golf cart for about $67/day. We didn't end up renting one. The premier cabin was much nicer than we anticipated. It came with all the amenities you need to spend a few days in a campground: dishes/silverware for 10+ people, sponge to wash dishes (no dish soap though), one roll of paper towels, two rolls of toilet paper, 8+ bath towels/wash cloths, linens/blankets for most beds and the futon, spatulas, pots, etc. It had a microwave, regular refrigerator with freezer, and a drip coffee maker with extra filters provided. Bring your own coffee. There were TVs in the two bedrooms and living room. The bathroom and stand-up shower were pretty small, but nice enough. There was a very large deck with an outdoor table and chairs for six people. That was nice. All and all, it was more than enough for our family of four for three days and two nights. If you go, here's what I would bring: dish soap, oven mitt (we brought a cast iron pan and cooked breakfast on the fire), toiletries (especially hand and body soap), ground coffee, aluminum foil, can coozi's, matches/fire wood/newspaper, hand sanitizer, bluetooth speaker, and fishing rods. Premier Cabin 2 is near highway 15, which was loud at times. We just listened to music by the fire so it didn't bother us. A good time was had by all! Next time we'd like to stay one of the premier cabins on the pond. They were just steps from the pond and the views were gorgeous! read more

There seems to be a lot to do and a very friendly community. Definitely a larger RV resort so privacy and quiet is not necessarily the vibe. Very family friendly. We've been a seasonal campers here for 11 years. The park has gone down hill every year but the prices keep going up. It is currently much higher then any other campground in the area. The pools are disgusting, they can't be vacuumed because the pump isn't working properly. Very much a health concern. There are no lifeguards, the hot tub is always broken, the water slide is closed for the whole season, there is no consistent snack shack, toilets near the pool are disgusting & often out of order for months. All of these issues have been brought up to management with no changes. We have stayed for the great friends we've made but at $6,000 a year & the condition the park is in, it sadly may be time to leave. Will they fill our spot? Of course but people won't stay long once they see how bad it is read more

Just left there after a 4 day stay, they put us upfront which gets a lot of Highway noise. Was right by a bunch of seasonal sites which were party central. This was the 3rd time we've stayed there, 1st time was great since we were in the back, 2nd time was basically a last minute trip and that site sucked as we were right next to a power pole with a big electrical box taking up part of the site. This 3rd trip we had no idea we would be put into party central by all the seasonal sites. They did have a craft show, and a band on Saturday night which was ok but we had no clue we would be put right into all the traffic and noise that came with these events. This park is rather pricey but your about 5 minutes from Gettysburg. We did go into one bathhouse which was clean, very dated but plumbing leaks were literally fixed with wormdrive clamps and expoxy. The water went out while we were there, this place has great potential but doesn't live up to what they charge. Would we go again, probably not, we've had one good experience and two negative experiences here. We go camping to relax and some peace and quiet, was unhappy being placed right in the middle of the party people. Will just go to the KOA from now on. Did'nt feel it was worth what they charge. read more

Drummer Boy Camping Resort - RV Parks Near Me - Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Horrible. We are full time RVers so we stay in campgrounds all over North America, this was our worst RV park experience to date. We stayed on a Saturday in November at a rate of $63.75 for one night. This campground should not bill itself as a resort, it is dirtier and simpler than many state parks we've visited. The bathrooms were dirty with only lukewarm water, and looked like an old high school locker room. We needed to do laundry and 2 of 3 washers were broken. When we arrived we should have known this place would be a problem. The woman at the front desk showed us the available campsites on a map, and when we asked her to recommend one she told us that the staff doesn't get put into the campground much so we should just go look at them. When we chose one and paid we weren't given any information, we had to ask about WiFi and laundry, and we were not told at the time that 2 of 3 washers were broken. The electrical hookups at the site we're old and wiggly, and it was a struggle to keep the plug plugged in properly. The campground seemed to be shutting down for the season, none of the amenities were open (like the pool/hot tub) yet we were still charged full price. We would never return to this camping "resort". read more

We spent 4 days and 3 nights at Little Drummer Boy over the Labor Day weekend. While it wasn't our first choice, after calling about 10 other campgrounds it was the only one that had availability 3 weeks before the holiday. With over 500 sites + tent sites and cabins this is a massive campground. Overall it was decent and we had a nice stay. I will note that it is the most expensive site we've ever stayed at $90/night + a daily resort fee. I do think it's overpriced for what is offered and have stayed at better at much lower price points. Here's a breakdown: SITES: are double sized, and rustic. A fire pit with cooking grate was included but not cleaned out from prior camper. Our site did have litter, including grease that was dumped and became like a brittle when mixed with the gravel, small trash items, and even small remnants of leftover Halloween decorations. The water was located far from the other utilities and two water hoses were required. Noise from neighboring Route 15 was very noticeable when outside but not inside when we had the windows closed and ac on. There must not be any quiet hours or they are not enforced. Two nights our seasonal neighbors were outside partying past 2 am, (one night till 4 am!) complete with kids yelling, which made sleeping difficult. But their cable package had 73 channels - the most of any campground! POOLS: they have two, one geared towards but not exclusive to adults (no lifeguard) with a hot tub, another geared towards kids with a waterslide, mushroom, and duck sprinkler (with lifeguard). "Kids" pool was a good 10 minute drive from out site near the lodge in a vehicle. Kid pool hours were deceptive; posted as opening at 10 but they claim the sign says 11 (see pic). Adult pool does opens at 10. Slide was restricted to 48" and over and enforced. Lifeguards were very attentive. Kids pool had some missing tiles that was covered with a chair so the rough surface was avoided. Lounges, chairs, covered tables were at each pool. Both were walk out, getting deeper as you went in. The areas were clean. The hot tub has several signs marked for adults only but it wasn't enforced. Limited amount of parking at each, with the adult pool parking geared towards golf carts. LODGE: this is where a shopping event was held (didn't attend) and bingo. It's a massive space complete with commercial kitchen and stone fireplace. However it was run down and most of it was used for storage which was an eyesore. I feel it could be so much more than what it was and is totally underutilized. EVENTS: we participated in a few, free s'more making at the community fire pit, bingo, and a free cookout complete with band at the pavilion at the kids pool. That event was very loud and the kids didn't like it so we left. Bingo was very affordable and the payouts high, but they ran out of cards. In fact they were very rude to incoming patrons when that happened. I personally witnessed the male activity employee close the door as people were a foot away from it, post the sign, and not say a word. It was upsetting and I thought it could have been handled differently. After all it's the campgrounds fault they ran out of cards! POND: the fish like hot dogs and were biting. The area was a tad messy with discarded fishing line, full trash cans, and litter. The store does NOT sell bait (but should) but does sell hooks. There is no parking at the pond and we had to inquire at the office about parking at a non rented tent site. OVERALL: store employees were nice and well prepared at check in but wish the store had more supplies and hand dipped ice cream. ATM did NOT work. They had a café but it never opened this year and was just dusty and abandoned. Firewood was priced above average. The mini golf was sad and void of any landscaping or décor. Campground is hard to navigate, the map has the adult pool and playground reversed in print. Even after a 4 day stay we couldn't get a feel for the layout. Roads are curvy and narrow and difficult to maneuver in a big truck. Had difficultly backing into our site. Golf carts are highly recommended (they rent for $75/day but were out). GENERAL: this place doesn't live up to the potential of the property and I expect more at this price point especially with the addition of the "resort fee". Management didn't make a presence, other than a lifeguard, 2 activities employees and store personnel we didn't see any other employees. The seasonal sites are better maintained and landscaped than the common grounds which is sad. It didn't feel like anyone affiliated with the campground stayed onsite overnight, which raises security issues, as well as no enforcement for loud neighbors like ours. It did fall short for us and we wouldn't stay here again. SIDENOTE: the aroma of sewage could be smelled in certain areas or when the wind blew. Some areas it was so strong it gagged me out. The kid's pool restroom smelled like straight up piss read more

For context, we are new to RV glamping. This is our second campground. The campground is adjacent to the interstate and can be heard all day. At night, the crickets do drown out the cars. There is a lot of traffic throughout the campground-cars and golf carts. There are lots of trees which is a plus. The sites are a good size. The short term areas are better maintained than the seasonal areas. The seasonal area had lots of weeds and looked a junky with all of the personalized site decor. The pools were great. Loved the veggie cart that came to the campground on Saturday. The biggest negative has been the smell of sewage. We were worried it was us since we are new to all of this and we may not have hooked up properly. When the wind blows from the north, we get the stench. We reported the smell to the office. Will update if they come to address. The bathhouse is not well maintained. I thought I read they were newly renovated. It would benefit from mildew remover. Can't get a wifi connection. read more

Besides the highway noise, sewage smell, unmaintained cabins, bathrooms and high rates, the straw that broke the camel's back was when my teenage daughter got kicked out of the pool by the rudest, saddest excuse for a "lifeguard" I ever met for wearing what she deemed an "inapproprIate" bathing suit-which was a normal bikini just like everyone else was wearing. She publicly humiliated my daughter in front of a crowd of onlookers, who were in disbelief and rallied to her defense. Extremely rude & unprofessional & we will never return. read more

I had a credit that was honored and I appreciated that however, we were stuck in spot 359 next to septic system! Gravel roads to get there on motorcycles treacherous. I asked several times over the past few months of another spot and was told there were none available. I don't think they tried to accommodate us because we were on a credit. We have friends who have been coming for years and love it. I guess if I can get a better location I may change my mind. Not impressed! read more

If you're looking for restful, peaceful or quiet, you won't find anything close here. We stayed for two nights. We had a road both in front of our campsite and behind and it was like a freeway all day and night with people driving by. They also rent golf carts and those are flying by almost constantly, full of loud people and loud kids. The only time we had anything close to quiet was when it rained. Also, there were unleashed dogs running around even on our campsite. We had to check first before we could even take our own dog out to make sure there wasn't a wandering dog on our campsite. Dumpsters were located near our campsite, but were overflowing during our entire stay. I wouldn't stay here again and I wouldn't recommend this "resort" unless you enjoy crowds of loud people and camping right next to a very busy road or two. read more

Absolutely a wonderful place to take the family camping, whether you have an RV, rent a cabin, or pitch a tent this place has it all. We spent three nights and although it rained, there were still so much to do. There is fishing, heated swimming pool with slide, movies and crafts offered depending on what is scheduled. The kids even went on a ghost tour. There is a general store as well as a snack stand if you decide you are tired of grilled hot dogs and hamburgers. It's also a 5-10 min drive from a shopping area with more to do and eat. Will definitely stay again!! read more

Had a great stay at Drummer Boy Campground! Everyone was REALLY nice in the fully stocked office/store. Our site was roomy and the bathrooms were clean. We plan to return in-season when we can enjoy the pools and water slide! read more

I have to say everyone was very nice. However we went to the kids pool and the life guard was on her phone while running the water slide. Not exactly what you want a life guard doing while your kids are going going down the water slide or swimming in the pool. The campground has a lot of seaonal campers, most of the seasonal sites were kept up very nicely, but there were a few that needed some attention. Overall the campground really just needs a little TLC and attention to detail. We probably won't come back just because it's a campground that's been neglected and I'm sure that they could afford to spend the money for the improvements needed. read more

We had our first experience at this campground. Pros and cons... Very clean establishment, great service, clean pools, so forth. We had trouble with our cable, and wanted a grate, both things were taken care of within minutes. One thing they have no control of, is the extreme highway noise. I looked for Jeff Gordons car, figured he was out of the race, but recognized no other cars as well. Expensive place. They should NOT charge the extra $10 fee for waterslides. Very ridiculous. Rates for the golf cart, high... overall, will explore other facilities, it's all what you are looking for read more

Great if you race golf carts. Way to many. Used to be a quit but seems to be a bit of a party ground nowdays.

First time here and we had an awesome time. Cabin was great, quiet evenings, friendly staff. We really enjoyed our stay.

This is our second stay at Drummer Boy! Our first stay was at a tent site, & we are currently in a premier cottage. I am absolutely in love with our cottage, and it's so close to many attractions. It's very clean. I wouldn't recommend making purchases for necessities as the items in the shop are over priced. But there are grocery stores nearby. The only dislikes I've had, has been with the staff at check in. Not very friendly, or welcoming, especially after a long travel to get here. Not unkind, but not exactly warm either. There is one young, blonde lifeguard whom I *extremely dislike for is attitude. Other than that our stay so far has been wonderful and we can't wait for next year!!! I high recommend Drummer Boy despite these minor things. read more

Weeds every where, maintenance needed but it`s a big place and we all know how weeds grow. The bathrooms could use a new crew of workers to clean them. They raised the price of a camping site to cover the old extra fee for the pool side. We don`t use the pool slide so why are we paying for it. We had 2 encounters with campground staff, one (the check in girl) she was nice and helpful the second she was like other people have noted rude and argumentative . We won`t be back because of this to bad one entitled employee can cost a business a lot of money. There are other less expensive campgrounds in the area we have stayed at in the past with no issues or personnel problems ,clean bath houses and lots of free activities for the kids. read more

We were super excited about trying this place. Our campsite was nice but our neighbors had great difficulty getting into the sites due to large boulders and trees in absolutely horrible locations. The bathrooms were never cleaned fully for the three days we were there, paper towels were never replenished, floors were very dirty. The activity pool was great for the family but the other pool seemed like no one took care of it. It opened at 10am and for two days in a row we had to beg to have them open it on time. Also needs cleaned more often. Some of the weekends "activities" were very unorganized. I would not stay at this "resort" again knowing all of the other campgrounds in the area. read more

We had an aweful experience! We were with a group of people and were harassed our entire stay. The cabin was dirty and smelled musty, the tv and microwave weren't working. When I brought this to the attention of the staff, I was told they would be by to fix it. We were there 5 days and no one ever fixed it, even when I reminded them. The water slide, while a neat novelty, is opened limited hours, and costs extra. It's such a small slide, it's not worth the extra money! There was a strong, overwhelming stench of septic/cess pool in our area. The leech field is not on their camping map, so when you make a reservation, be sure to request a spot furthest away from that. Bottom line, I'd recommend giving your business to another campground. There are better places to stay. read more

Very disappointing stay. We had a group of 3 campsites and 4 cabins and while the cabins and camp sites were nice we had major issues with the cleanliness of the facilities. The dumpsters were overflowing and smelled terrible, the cleanliness of the pools was questionable but the worst was the bath house. The showers have mold, bugs and spider webs everywhere, and considering I read reviews from people over a month ago with the same issue, I think it is safe to say they haven't been cleaned in MONTHS. They were disgusting and it's inexcusable for a campground who charges as much as this one does not to have clean facilities. I mentioned the bath house issue and overflowing dumpsters to the front desk but nothing was done to resolve my concerns. This campground in a beautiful location and has a lot of potential to be great but I will not return. I will choose to stay elsewhere when we return to Gettysburg and will not recommend this campground to my friends. read more

Drummer boy is a very nice family friendly campground. It has tons of activities to do and is located close by several nice tourism places. The grounds are kept fairly clean and the staff is very friendly. For anyone tenting, staying in RV for a week or renting a cabin, it's a great place for families of all ages. However, their seasonal spots are a bit pricey. I've even seen spots sit empty because they won't come down in price. Their prices are in line with seasonal spots at campgrounds in Ocean City Maryland right next to the beach and water. With all that said, it is a great campground but in terms of a long term spot for even a small camper, you will spend some big money. Love drummer boy though! read more

Fabulous! Clean restrooms that are air conditioned. One mishap--last night after most people had showered, the shower drains got clogged up....eeeeuuuggghhh. They ought to look into that. The swimming pools are beautiful. The regular pool is a nice size, architecturally pretty to look at, and there's a hot tub there for the adults. The activity pool is really big and an AWESOME time, especially for kids. The campsites are spacious, and you can choose a wooded site or an open site. Very family and doggy friendly. The park is huge and well maintained. Great place for kids. It was Halloween time and those in campers etc were all decked out for the festivities. Tons of kid friendly activities planned. We rented a cabin with a loft. Kitchen could have used a few more items to be considered well stocked. We had a party of 8. Only 7 forks. Just an FYI Two pots. No broiler pan. A lady next door came and asked to borrow a pan as the three in her cabin were burned beyond use. If you plan on using the kitchen best to bring your faves from home. The cabin was clean and cheerful and well located. It did have a stove and full sized refrigerator and a bathroom. These were pluses from the place we camped last in Gettysburg. The loft was not standup able and had two twin mats. Truly comfortably this cabin would sleep 6. We still had a great time and would definitely return! read more

We saw this campground had a very high rating so decided to stay here. First let me explain why I gave only three stars. One of the criteria for me to give a high rating is cleanliness. Unfortunately, they fall short in this area. The laundry room was very dirty - trash overflowing, smelly, ants, floor dirty. The pool/spa had computer printed signs in sheet protectors taped all over -to excess - giving the area a less than clean look, but the water was clean and free of leaves and debris. The showers were not as clean as you would want. I don't know if it's a lack of staffing or what the underlying issue is. The checkin staff were very friendly and competent. The store portion very nice. There are a lot of amenities here and the campsites in my area clean. I hope whatever the problem they can get it fixed. read more

I love this place it has amazing pools and cabins and an arcade...truly a fun experience I had to bad it was just only for 1 week.

Our trip was last minute planned. We called the day before and said they have NO other cabins available besides the deluxe which is very expensive. The lady said we were right on the pond. When we got to our cabin, we were NOT on the pond and slammed right up against the highway. We were right out in the open slammed with sun with no shade. And after being here and walking around the campground, there were TONS of available cabins all over the place. Also, they were sold out of golf carts and the lady at the front basically laughed in our face when we asked for one. Oh, and by the way the water slide is 10$ a day just to go down it. The other pool is freezing cold as well. These people only seem to be interested in the money. Free wifi is only free for ONE day and then you pay the next day. This place is a joke. read more
