The office staff were really kind and they squeezed me in for an emergency visit with Dr Friedman 1 hour after my phone call. Mind you this was on the day before Thanksgiving so I was very grateful to them. Dr Friedman was equally kind. The Doctor got me on a medication for my anxiety and he gave me free samples of the pills so that I did not need to go to the pharmacy. The office is located on University right next to the bowling alley and Kentucky Fried Chicken by Taft. When you walk into the office there are all type of inspirational sayings and music that lifts you up. Dr. Dellarosa is the counselor at the facility who is very understanding, provides practical neutral advice, and really gives you great insight and perspective which you may not see. They take my insurance which covers the full cost of the visits. I love that I can go and receive such practical advice and thoughts that is unbiased as we know that friends and family are typically very biased. Upon completion of your visits, you draw a card with a saying on it which you are to try to focus on I see examples in the pictures). Then, they write your next visit day and time on there for practicality too. On one of my visits there was a mother in the office with two children and the mother shared how helpful Dr. Dellarosa has been with her children. So yes, they see children too!!! I would highly recommend you look into your insurance and give them a try. I know they take Medicaid too. Dr. Dellarosa really does try to make a difference in the mental health and understanding of her patients. She also offers seminars and will be making some of them virtual soon too!

I just finished up my second scan (they do 2) and wanted to review this clinic and let everyone know how amazing my experience has been! From the start of walking in the door you are greeted by the front desk ladies and asked how you are feeling (I love that!) I wish I got their names but they are so so kind and helpful, they had asked when I left today if I wanted to move my next appointment to a sooner date which was so thoughtful. I really appreciated that! I believe her name was Daniyel. The staff at this clinic in Hollywood really are top notch and made the experience the best! After you arrive they take you back and have you do assessments on a computer and then take you to a private room to do the medication for the brain scan. Super easy and painless! I wanted to give a special shoutout to Moe. He was so kind and funny and made my experience so much fun and put me at ease. His phlebotomy skills are the best I've ever experienced. No bruising and was painless! The brain scans were so easy and comfortable! They help you up on the board and you lay down and get comfortable and then they wrap you up in a blanket to keep you comfortable but also helps you not to accidentally move during the scan as you can't move so it can scan the brain properly. It only last about 20 minutes. Goes by super quick! They even update you to let you know during it how many minutes you have left which is so helpful. COMPASSIONATE, HELPFUL, & EASY. Would be the words I would describe my experience at the Amen Clinic. Every single person I've encountered has been so helpful and I can tell they have all been extensively trained in customer service and customer care. Ashley has also been a fantastic care coordinator and has followed up with me and taken her time speaking with me. She even called me before we met just to introduce herself to me and to let me know I could reach out to her if I had any questions! You are in great hands at Amen Clinic. I do want to add, yes it is expensive however I view it as an investment in myself. He does offer the option of herbal supplements but understands that these don't always work for everyone and will tirelessly work with you to find the proper medication(s) to help you. Never got the text, wasted my lunch break to be available for this appointment and never got an email/call/text apologizing for missing OUR appointment that they made me reschedule for. It is just a way to line his pockets. It is not a recognized test in the medical nor psychiatric community. Additionally, there is no need to repeat the test except for him to bill your insurance again. You don't need the test to diagnose depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, ADD/ADHD, personality disorders etc. He knows this and no other doctor will suggest this test to you Also don't be suckered into thinking he is conducting research on this test. If he were their would be an informed consent document several pages long that is reviewed and approved by an IRB. This study would be listed on Centerwatch.com under all other research being legally conducted and it isn't. He also over bills and I called my insurance company and disputed the charges. I informed them of what was actually done during the visit, a sales pitch, and they denied the payment. He also refused to monitor my meds if he couldn't perform the unapproved imaging test. Which isn't the gold standard in psychiatric medicine. Avoid this quack unless you just have money to waste and get nothing of substance in return.
