We were referred to Jorge by our realtor's staging company, who claimed other quotes were "overpriced." His quote came in lower, and at first glance, it seemed like a reasonable choice. Unfortunately, the old saying "you get what you pay for" couldn't be more true. The first crew he sent worked carelessly -- paint drips everywhere, rough edges, and no attention to detail. Instead of correcting the problem, Jorge sent a second crew who somehow managed to make things worse. They damaged multiple areas of our home with their "painters" tape when they pulled it off, including: *Peeling the texture off the ceiling *Stripping paint from crown molding *Pulling the tape and floating off the garage walls/ceiling *Mismatching paint on adjacent cabinet doors (how does this even happen?) We approached Jorge politely, presenting him with photos and documentation of the issues, expecting him to address them. Instead, he ghosted us completely and walked off the job, after taking $5,000 (half the labor and all of the supplies) upfront. At that point, the work wasn't even 25% finished, after over 6 weeks, when Jorge told us it wouldn't take his crews more than a week. We were left scrambling to find other painters to repair the extensive damage and complete the job, and had to postpone other contractors (flooring) whom we'd lined up like dominoes, to get the home on the market. We missed that opportune time to sell, and lost out on several homes we wanted to buy (we needed to sel ours first) The repairs for the damage alone cost another $5,000, plus an additional $12,000 for completion, for a job that should have cost around $9,000, we ended up spending nearly $20,000 (more if you consider the lunches we catered for the crews each day). This wasn't just poor workmanship. It was complete disregard for our home, our time, and our money. The quality was terrible, the damage was significant, and the customer service was non-existent. Avoid this company at all costs unless you want shoddy work, serious damage to your home, and a contractor who disappears the moment there's a problem.

Then I reached out to The Texas Painter and they sent me an estimate within a few hours of receiving my email, it was a very reasonable price and they could start the next day. The crew came to my house at 8:00 am the next morning to tape and float the drywall and spray on texture, and by the second day at 10:00am the paint was finished, incredible. I thought I was going to have to rent a storage space and move all my stuff again in a month, but thanks to them I can start to use the workshop right away and avoid all that hassle.
