I attempted to voice concerns about technical problems with the website a week in advance of my course due date; the website was not saving my progress after repeated run throughs of sections. My many emails were ignored, waiting an hour on the phone TWICE IN ONE DAY, in addition to the calls I'd placed during the week, yielded me no response, and my live chat experience? It took me over an hour to get through a queue of less than 10 people. My customer support agent told me I'd be receiving an email within an hour or 2. 8 hours later, no response. Thanks for nothing I guess? Despite all this, I did the coursework as well as I could, despite progress being removed over and over by repeated breaks (after making me take a break multiple times in the same night, my progress on the same few slides was deleted by the website multiple times). I finished the instructional part of the course. All I have to do is take the test right? Well, the website requested I take a "short break" in broken grammar, which ACTUALLY meant it forced me to wait an hour before I could take a 50 question (20 minutes or less) test. 20 minutes into the timer, my course expired. At 99% completion. Because the website LOCKED ME OUT OF TAKING A TEST THAT I WOULD HAVE FINISHED BEFORE THE 4 HOUR REQUIREMENT WAS MET. Now I must pay $50 and restart the entire thing, for a course that I ALREADY SHOULD HAVE FINISHED. Your company can view this as a customer support ticket, if you'd like. It's not like you were of ANY assistance the past 6 times I tried to contact you. Absolutely abysmal customer service. Wouldn't recommend to anybody. read more

My son found this website online and took the online course so that he could go get his permit. He did not understand that you could not print out the certificate of completion at the end and that it had to be snail mailed. I paid an extra $27.99 yesterday to have the certificate over-nighted so we could have it by 12:00 p.m. today. He had an appointment today at the DMV to get his learner's permit an hour and a half drive from our house at 2:00 which took us a month and a half to get. We did not get the certificate by 12:00, nor did we have it by 5:08 and we still do not have it. Needless to say we missed the appointment, and paid $27.99 to expedite the shipping and we still don't have the certificate. I've called 3 times today to try and get the tracking number to no avail...they are updating their systems. I will be asking for my $27.99 back and hope to get the certificate tomorrow so we can try and show up at the DMV without an appointment and wait in long lines. If this review helps you at all, the lesson is...when your teen does the online driver's ed course pick one that has a brick and mortar store near you so you can pick up the certificate if you need to (like Bay Area Driver School if you live in the SF Bay Area). SERIOUSLY!!! I just looked it up and figured out this company is in Oakland, CA. I could have driven to their office and picked up the certificate. However, without doing some searching, you don't know where the company is and that option was never even offered to me over the phone. Ridiculous!!! read more

The online course is tedious and drags itself out far too long. If you want to finish an online driver's ed course in less than 2 weeks with spending 3-5 hours each day doing this course, I would definitely not recommend this course. The most infuriating part of the course is the built-in timer. Now, I understand that it is there for a reason, and that someone probably gamed the course in order to be able to pass the test extremely fast, but the timer simply makes each course extremely time-consuming, especially if you can read more than 10 words per second. read more

Great behind-the-Wheel training with patient instructors and efficient scheduling. I had Randy and Tony as instructors and they were wonderful, even when I made a lot of mistakes, they were patient and taught me what to do correctly. Helps a lot with passing the driver license test and gives certain instructions made specifically for the test. read more

My son loved Brandy (best driving instructor) from driver's ed.com. She gave him the perfect instructions, confidence in himself & tools he needs to be a successful driver. Brandy gave my son the best advice & that was....."If you have a month or 2 in between your last driving lesson and your "Behind the wheel test" take a "Refresher " driving lesson. Great idea! read more

Just plain shit. -Over priced -Shitty driving instructor that yelled at me constantly and told me I wasn't "thinking at all" and prodded in my personal life more than teaching me how to drive (it's a good thing I took a different behind-the-wheel training school before I took this one because I didn't learn shit from that DriversEd.com instructor). He also told me that there was no way I could get a license because my driving skills were so "poor" but I passed my test the first time so the constant rude commentary I got from him was very unhelpful. -Slow, long, unhelpful online lessons. You learn the basics and I guess that's enough but it still sucked ass. There's definately better schools out there. DO NOT GO TO DRIVERSED.COM I went to Bay Area Driving School for behind the wheel training and my instructor taught me a lot and went the extra mile to teach me things that weren't in their curriculum such as freeway driving and such and was very nice about it. So yeah :/ read more

Overall, not a bad class. I recently rec'd a ticket and opted for the online defensive driving school from DriversEd. Most of the reviews blamed DriversEd instead of themselves for getting the ticket. took me about 5 hours, while watching TV, to take the course and I actually did learn a couple of things i didn't know. A very good solution for something that used to take 8 hours in a classroom setting. While I would have liked more options, this online class is far superior to the classroom setting. I recommend it. read more

Last time I took an online traffic school to absolve a ticket, here in the bay area, was a few years ago, and there were at least a dozen choices. Apparently, the competition was a good thing. Now the Santa Clara County Superior Court only offers DriversEd.Com. This course is a disaster. There's no indication -- on the flyer, the website, or in the course itself as to how long you should expect the course to be or what your progress through it is so far. And the website is amazingly slow. It's just serving up simple, static content, but it still takes 30 seconds each time you click "Next" (and yes, we have a cable modem, so it normally takes 0.5 seconds to load and display a webpage). To add insult to injury, the site has a built in "view timer" for each page, requiring you to actually wait a respectable amount of time before clicking Next. Even for the yada, yada page! I hope the courts realize that single sourcing this type of service is just inviting abuse and go back to a competitive driver's ed landscape. read more

DriversEd.com is using COVID-19 to scam it's customers. I signed up for the Instructor led course. My child completed all of the classroom instruction with DriversEd.com. Once COVID-19 hit, the company stopped offering in car lessons. So I called the TDLR (TX agency) and they instructed me to complete the driving portion as parent taught and gave me a list of approved vendors. I completed the behind-the-wheel with another vendor. DriversEd.com is refusing to provided the certificate of completion for the classroom portion unless I purchase their behind-the-wheel course. There is no legal reason do this except to force the customer to purchase from them. They are unethical and scamming their own customers. RUN AWAY & USE SOMEONE ELSE. read more

The only reason I am giving this a low rating is because of one of the instructors I received, MARK RAY. He is a horrible instructor, very rude and mean. He is not polite and insulted me during the lesson. He also said I was a bad driver and would never get my license. That's definitely not something a teenager wants to hear when they are first learning to drive. I do not recommend this instructor to anyone as he does not know how to deal with teenagers. Again, extremely rude and made me feel uncomfortable. I was not happy with that lesson at all. However for my last lesson, I had the best instructor by far, Pricilla. She was really nice and understanding. I loved the way she taught me and she made the learning experience fun. I recommend her to anyone learning to drive. Yay for Pricilla, Nay for Mark Ray read more

I've heard good things about this company and my child is about to start driving with them -- however... I just tried to return a call from them about a last minute lesson available and had one of the *worst* customer service and technology experiences I've had in a *long* time. Absurd. First, I was forced thru multiple levels of an automated phone tree, none of which corresponded to what I was calling about; Second, there was no option at any of the levels to "press 0" to speak with a live person until you exhausted all levels of the tree and then it automatically connected you to a 'consultant'; Third, when I did get a live person, they couldn't look up my child by name, they required his email address; Fourth, they asked me for information I had already keyed into their automated phone system. Their service really stinks. I hope this is not reflective of their teachers' capabilities. read more

Tony Yan was an amazing instructor and made driving for the first few times less nerve racking. I would highly suggest using DriversEd.com for learning how to drive, and would recommend Tony for your instructor! read more

So this was my other alternative than doing a one 8 hour day traffic school on a Saturday.... Why has it taken me so damn long to complete it!? HMMMM....because its fucken tedious... IF I ever get a fucken ticket again. I'm going to a class...FUCK THIS ONLINE BULLSHIT!!! read more

TONY YAN IS THE GREATEST! From the moment I got in the car, he was very friendly but most importantly so thorough in his work. My last instructor was Angel Rose Sandoval who was terrible, I didn't notice until I was paired with Tony Yan which had improved my driving from terrible scoring to more safer improvement. Angel Rose Sandoval was on the phone with her debt collector half of the course and didn't mention anything of the SMOG awareness technique that Tony had instilled into my driving. Tony was very patient, and made me gain all my confidence by not rushing me into something I wasn't ready for. He emphasized the importance of safety and judgement calls, he even has a road map that he drew and little toy cars to demonstrate if you're a more visual learner. He will conform to your learning and make you gain every confidence in yourself. I can definitely tell he has true passion for his job and everyone's safety on the road. I hope he gets acknowledged for his great work. I also did pass my driving test in only 1 week after his lesson of teaching me. THANK YOU TONY YAN! If you have Tony Yan you're going to pass Your driving test. My experience with drivers ed went from discouragingly horrific to memorable as ever. read more

I signed my daughter up for drivers ed through drivers Ed.com which says "Course FREE with in-car lessons". When you click on the deal to sign up, you see it mentions and free coaching session and another message that says "Take your certificate to the DMV to get your permit and start in-car lessons." So she does the course, takes her certificate to the DMV and I call to schedule her in-car lessons and they tell me that they don't provide the 6 hours of in car lessons and that it's actually just a free coaching session. So now I paid $60 for an online class which would only be $20 in town and I have to pay an additional $300 for in car lessons. And to top it off, they said they don't offer coaching sessions now either. They stopped January 26. I called the 29th. read more

First and foremost, my greatest fear in life is driving. So here I am, 29 years old, never had a license and terrified of driving. But I have a baby and it's really impossible to get things done without a car here in the east bay, blah blah, here we are. So I've had 2 lessons with Cil already and SHE'S AWESOME. She is such a wizard that she got me on the freeway on the first day and I didn't have a panic attack and think we were gonna die! :D Cil has made me feel more confident, has challenged me to practice things I'm afraid of doing, and she's also just a really rad person to talk to. I wish she was my bro. See y'all on the road! read more

worst customer service. Unless you are paying money, It is impossible to get in touch with them.

1/2 star would be too much! They make you sign up and pay for lessons ahead of schedule. AND they keep sending you emails asking you to purchase more lessons. BUT they are unable to accommodate ANY of your requests. They have too few drivers, OR all lessons are full, OR their schedule doesn't open until such and such date and the when you call on the designated date the schedule is fully booked. What a scam! BUT, there is light at the end of the tunnel. I can drive to Oakland or Daly City and meet a driver from another district. Sit around in a strip mall for 2 hours while my kids is being taught how to drive. WHAT A DEAL! I have been told by Natalie that I can get fully reimbursed, so I've sent in my request and am waiting. They better come through as they are dealing with one unhappy customer! read more

Side note: this review should've been posted a few months ago, but I remembered that I had wanted to write a review because I had such a great experience. I wasn't able to pass my behind the wheel test on the first try without professional lessons, and I gave up after a bad experience during my road test. A few years later, and I began working farther away, and public transportation was starting to become a nightmare because of shady people on BART, so I decided to finally try again to get my license. This time I decided to go with a driving school. The prices are pretty consistent with other schools in the area. I really liked that I was able to pay online, but it was more convenient for me to call them to schedule an appointment instead of waiting for them to call 1-3 days later. I took my first lesson with Jordan, and I felt at ease because there was a brake on the instructor's side and because student driver is plastered all over the car, so other cars could clearly see that I was a practicing driver. I enjoyed my lesson with him, and I thought it was helpful when he went over some reasons why students may not pass their test. I took most of my lessons through Priscilla (Cil) because of her reviews, and I generally agree with them. She really knows her stuff, and I found myself teaching others what I had learned after a couple lessons with her. She can at times come across strict, but it is coming from a good place. She genuinely wants to see you do well, and she will push you out of your comfort zone so you can improve. This is something I can now appreciate because when I first went in for a lesson, I was terrified. Freeway driving was something I thought I wouldn't be able to do, and now I can do it safely. read more

For behind-the-wheel training, I think it really depends on who you get as an instructor. For my first lesson, I felt my instructor didn't effectively convey a lot of the important driving rules and wasn't very open to patiently answer any questions. However, I got a different instructor (Tony Yan) for my second lesson and it made such a big difference. I felt he was very knowledgeable about what he was teaching and was also extremely kind. He is extremely patient--even with all the mistakes--and helps you gain a lot of confidence on the road. He has toy cars as a method of learning and patiently explains a lot of the crucial driving rules + tips for the road test. It really made such a huge difference to have a more lighthearted / capable at teaching driving instructor. read more

Daughter took the online course, past the test, received the certificate. CA DMV said "this is not our course" so she now has to study the real DMV handbook and take the real DMV test to get her permit. This company is in no way connected to the CA DMV, your paying just to practice and get a bogus certificate. Don't waste your money, get the handbook and study then go to the DMV. Wasted our time, money and created a very sad child on what was supposed to be a special day. read more

I tried to pass the driving test six times but every time I fail until I took a lesson with Long Troung. Seriously, he is the best! He is so calm, chilled, and easy to work with. When you are out for a lesson with him, you will feel that you are with your friend. He is also so into details and will let you learn the proper way of driving and will give you tips to pass the test. Moreover, he is flexible with time and will try his best to make a time for you. In short, i highly recommend Long as an instructor and taking a lesson with him made me pass the test. read more

I had instructor Tony Yan for my lesson and he was very through and informative! I feel much more confident in driving after this lesson and received many helpful tips as well. I had the best time driving with my driving instructor, Tony Yan. He made the lessons fun and very enjoyable. He found a way to make learning about the rules of the road fun. It felt like time went by very fast during each lesson. I totally recommend him if you are looking for someone to do behind the wheel lessons with. read more

Your course is very informative and kept me alert throughout the entire studies. The 17 minute video of the drunk driver and the death of the young victim has had a serious impact on me. It has served it's purpose. I took the course and completed it in 6 hours. I needed a brushup anyways for good driver tips and a refresher of the traffic laws. There is an epidemic of a large population of inconsiderate and discourteous, selfish road ragers. I appreciate all the information inclusive in this course. Glad I'm done! read more

My instructor's name was Stacey McGillivary and I could not have gotten my driver's license without her! Note, I am a 29 year old female with the worst driving confidence ever...I failed once 10 years ago and didn't try again until recently because of my fear of failing again. And I passed!! She was strict, blunt, but sweet and definitely the most encouraging driving instructor I've ever had. If you have her, be prepared for someone who will be very straight forward with you on your mistakes. Her funny stories help keep you relaxed though and she is kind-hearted, just let her know if you really need to take a breather or to go over something. Thanks Stacey! read more

If there was any way to leave 0 stars I would. This company is horrible, unprofessional, and impossible to get in touch with. I have wasted hours and hours on hold and there is apparently only 1 person in customer service. How is this company still in business??!! read more

Kudos for Katrina Arva I would like to express my highest respect and admiration for a wonderful, highly professional driving instructor - Katrina Arva. Whether you are learning to drive, refreshing your driving skills or wishing to develop defensive driving, the best decision is to use the services of a driving instructor. Experienced drivers drive automatically, they cannot explain how to develop good skills the way the instructor does. And Katrina, as the most qualified and experienced instructor, explained each step for me with the utmost detail and patience, atomizing each move and explaining the importance of each action on the road. We went over difficult situations as many times as necessary, Katrina made sure that I manage to do everything to be safe and confident on the road. She made my lessons both useful and enjoyable and explained me how to properly prepare for the driving test. Katrina is extremely friendly, caring and patient. I would highly recommend her as the best teacher and instructor for yourself or for your child! Thank you so much, Katrina!!! read more

My drivers Ed teacher was Tony and he was great. I loved how he used toy cars to let me visually imagine what I'm suppose to do on the road. He kept a calm environment in the car so that I did not get overwhelmed while on the road. I would definitely recommend tony and drivers ed driving lesson to my friends. read more

This review is long overdue. DriversEd.com is pretty good for drivers education. I took their online course very long ago and had successfully gotten my permit to operate a vehicle after their program. Pros about their program: - They had cool videos showing you step by step on what to do and what not to do. Their videos are pretty high def. - Had plenty of practice exams. - Videos were understandable. - The courses were long but were really detailed. - You get to do their course on your own time and on your own pace. No classroom required which makes it really flexible. - When you have problems with your course, the online live chat feature is a great option to have without having to call! Cons: - Certificate took a bit to arrive but was manageable. - Price is a bit high. But what you pay is what you get. But I'm satisfied with my course that I received. Tips: - If customer service cannot resolve your problem, live chat definitely will! (at least for me it did) Overall: - Great online course. - Very time manageable. - Great Live Chat Customer Service Would I recommend the online course to other people? Yes! read more

I learned a lot more than I expected & feel well prepared to start my driving journey. The lessons are thorough & great.

Update 05/24 - It's been 2 months with 21 cancellations for classes. I just want to get done at this point. They quite literally cannot provide the service we are paying for. I now have to drive 27 miles just to complete his last 3 classes... if they do't get cancelled again. I'm glad they mke $50 off every cancellation from the other student, but I would like it even more if they were able to provide the service we paid for. I just want to get the word out to other to avoid this program unless you have no other options and be prepared for a long haul with lots of cancelled lessons read more

The certificate never came... and I waited four weeks. After giving them a month, I emailed customer support and was instructed in a form letter to "purchase another". I ended up having to pay an extra $10 for a "spare copy" and on top of that, $10 shipping. Combine this with the garbage quality 144p videos they force you to watch during the lesson, and driversed.com is a disaster. Needless to say, my other child will be using a different service! read more
