Clean and efficient. Registration renewal services were quick and efficient. There are long lines but they go rather quickly. I was impressed how fast they get people in and out. For DL's services, it's by appointment only. The facility itself is just simple and nothing fancy, plenty of parking outside in a large lot, for free - for customers. GINA, the only "supervisor" was a literal joke - they must let anyone be in charge because her customer service was SH!T! Very rude!!! I was trying to come in and get my license again since they shipped my first one back to Springfield & was told I only have to bring the letter with me to avoid having to make an appointment. I go in, talk with Natalia - she tells me I need my temporary ID to proceed and she can get me in even though I don't have an appointment. I walked out to get it & came back to another woman, I explained what Natalia had told me and she said "let me go confirm with her" she went to confirm and came back with GINA saying I'm not going to be seen, now I'm upset at this point because I've been here for about 30 mins at this point trying to ask her how I was just told I can get my picture taken and be seen & GINA turns to her coworker and says "idk what you think, it's a full house in here" I IMMEDIATELY GET UPSET BECAUSE WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO WITH ME!! So I asked her that & she rudely cut me off saying "well all these people have appointments, I'm telling you you need an appointment!!" I tell her she's a rude ass person & she said "no you are." I ended up calling her out her name and she tried to "ban me" from ever going back. All I know is she shouldn't be no supervisor talking to customers that way, I don't know how one person can tell me I'll be seen and the next says I need an appointment to go back to the other dmv that gave me information. I think she just had a "full house" and was trying to go home on a Friday and not do her actual job. She should be fired or replaced because she's too rude of a person to run things. DMV in Westchester for walk-in seniors needs change. Wait outside the building was 2 hours long! Very hard for persons with walking difficulties. Inside the building the wait was 1 hour. Coming into the DMV as a first time DL applicant, I was a bit nervous... Before my appointment I checked the reviews and just as I expected, nothing but terrible reviews...for all DMV's really. I was lucky enough to get the long haired gentleman at the greeters desk and kind cashier Manuel as well. Brenda was also great help. Throughtout my process I did notice people treated without respect, especially the elderly and it crushed me. I want to give a huge thank you to Edward, my driving instructor. Unlike other reviews state on other instructors...Edward made me feel comfortable during my road test and made the process easy and fast. read more

I went to the DMV on 87th and Harlem to take my driving test. I had a horrible experience with the instructor Monica that took my test. On that day Monica treated me poorly, with a very bad attitude, and putting me down during the entire test. This instructor kept raising her voice at me and rolling her eyes and belittling me during the whole test, it seems that her intentions were to make me feel insecure and incapable of completing my driving test. As it is people are already feeling anxious and nervous, and you don't need anybody making you feel even worse. This is not how you should treat people. There are a lot of teenagers and people with anxiety issues that might come in to take a test and at the end leave feeling discouraged. I am writing this review because this type of service shouldn't continue in such an unprofessional manner. This is already a stressful situation and we don't need the extra stress of having to deal with such unprofessional instructors. It seems that they are the ones that should be taking a test on how to treat people and perform their jobs professionally. Now that you know how Monica treats people, know that you have the right to ask for a different instructor who ever they might be if they make you feel uncomfortable. read more

Hi I went to DMV to renew my license on Tuesday the coldest day of April and waited 2-3 hours to get inside! The staff very friendly and helpful but I didn't get to do my vision due to Covid otherwise it was a good experience at this location! The best DMV experience I've had to date. Every single person I encountered not only did a good job, but went above and beyond to show they were happy and to try to make others happy. Emanual was the greeter outside and ensured everyone has a great experience. Rose was amazing and helpful. Bernice was extremely positive and helpful, with a smile on her face the entire time. Raegan was extremely kind and helped me navigate a question beyond what I knew she needed to, just to be helpful. Hector in pictures was kind, and the final person I encountered was Philip, who was also amazing. I'm so thankful for a great experience. Upon arrival the employee that one would assume would be directing which line people should be waiting in was instead simply yelling at them. I scheduled an appointment to take a road test at 12:00 PM. When I arrived at 11:30 AM we had to wait outside until that appointment time. Then I was aloud to wait in the lines on the inside of the building. My road test didn't even start until about 3:00 PM which was ridiculous. read more

Took my daughter to get her drivers license couple months ago Thought it was going to be a good experience but when you work in a hostile environment you become rude. They are unwilling to explain the basics and when asking a basic question, they are rude and with a malice tongue. While waiting for my daughter to experience the drivers test, I was standing outside two ladies were screaming at new drivers. While they pull up to take there test and refusing to use a vehicle. Even though it was deemed fit to drive and fully insured as they looked at the documents, they refused that particular person to take their test based on they did not want to ride in that car. All of the lights horn no tent was completely working as they went around the car. As I'm waiting here I'm just looking and waiting for my child to come back from her drivers test. All of the attitudes was on high with these women and yelling and screaming. I would never speech to anyone like this especially right before taking a driving test. My daughter came back and passed the test. But the experience of how the women talked to the drivers and my child has left a bad taste in my mouth. As a women I am very disappointed in how they actually acted. read more

It's a shame how one bad experience with one worker at this facility can really turn a persons impression around. I would have scored this place much higher had it not been for a gentleman by the name of Ronnie. He processed my paperwork and was the person I dealt with for the vision test. He was incredibly disrespectful, rude and condescending. He was NOT someone who should be dealing with the public in any capacity. His attitude was horrible. If he worked for me he would be standing in the unemployment line. On a positive note, the process did move along quickly and they seem better organized than years ago. I went to get my license renewed around lunchtime, which I thought would have been a peak period, and was done in about 25 minutes. However, the staff was on their toes and literally walking around telling people where to go and what to have ready. They're we're so kind and fast paced and i was in and out in 20 minutes! I went here to get my license renewed. Thankfully it was a bad day weather wise and everyone else was at home prepping (to get wasted) for game 7 of the World Series. So I came in, there was almost absolutely no line or much waiting.Everything was well In fact I was in and out in 30 minutes. I only think its outrageous that I have to wait 3 weeks to have a piece of plastic sent to my house that I spent $30 on instead of getting it on the spot when I first got my ID because Illinois is slow and lazy. Examiner, John Roberts failed me during my driver's test for stopping at a stop sign. I came to full stop at every sign but his reasoning for failing me was that my front bumper was hovering over the line when I was stopped. I have been driving with my permit for over a year and I have driven around 70-80 hours with my parents, John Duffy is at least a 75 year old man that decided it was justifiable to fail somebody for a reason like that after spending 2.5 hours in line at their Secretary of State which has 4 examiners with well over 25 cars in line at a time on a busy Tuesday. I have no doubt in my mind that I wouldn't have gotten a single point off if someone else watched me. The elderly man can't financially himself at that old age so he decided to get a job at a DMV getting paid 13 dollars an hour and using his power by wasting people's time. If you get a test here and an old man walks up to your car, tell him that you want to test with someone else. read more
