No more waiting for a rack, no detail spared when a large assortment of weights for whatever stage you're at

So impressed with Driven Strength Club. DSC, the first of its kind, is more than a gym. As someone who has been intimated by the gym and yoyo-ed with exercise and diet, I am so grateful to be a member of DSC. While it offers more than just a typical gym with areas to co-work, socialize, workout, and be a community, I've been fortunate to have been able to train with Coach James. James is extremely welcoming, friendly, and super knowledgeable about training more than just your body. He focuses on all elements of training, focusing on both your mind and your body. As someone who struggles with working out, he really looks out for my mental health and makes the environment extremely comfortable. Not only have I experienced first hand the training that James offers, I've also seen him transform other people's lives. He cares about the person, in their fitness journey, but also in their personal and professional capacity. He is extremely inclusive and really works to create a judgment free zone. I would highly recommend DSC to anyone who is a beginner, seasoned, or somewhere in between. There's a place for everybody and every body.

Inside of the gym where there are no large crowds. Very clean, organize and sleek.

ZERO GIVENS WHITTIER -- BOOTY CLASS WITH KRISTIN…read more I honestly LOVE EVERYTHING about this class! Kristin is absolutely amazing! Her energy and motivation are unmatched, and she has a way of making you feel comfortable, supported, and excited to keep pushing yourself. She helps you with your form, makes sure you're doing the exercises correctly, and motivates you every step of the way. She is SO motivational that giving up is ABSOLUTELY NOT an option! One of my favorite things about this class is the atmosphere. All the ladies are at different fitness levels, but everyone makes you feel welcomed and encouraged. Instead of feeling intimidated, you feel inspired to keep working, get stronger, and reach that next level yourself. There's something so empowering about being surrounded by women who are all showing up for themselves and putting in the work! Kristin makes this class so much more than just a workout. She makes you WANT to come back, challenge yourself, and see what you're capable of. I leave feeling accomplished, motivated, and already wishing I could do this class every single day! If you're thinking about trying ZERO GIVENS WHITTIER, DO IT!! And if you can take Kristin's BOOTY CLASS, DO NOT MISS IT! You will feel welcomed, encouraged, and pushed in the best possible way. Absolutely LOVE this class and the community!

The classes are never boring, challenge you, and the teachers hold you accountable, all in their own way. I've been getting 1:1 sessions with Juden as well and it's helped my confidence (let's be real, a lifelong project) and form. I never thought I could lift the way I do at Zero Givens. We're all met where we're at and there's always something new going on. This old timer won't be stopping anytime soon.

Overall, EOS Fitness in Whittier is a decent gym that gets the job done, but there are definitely…read moresome things that could be improved. The staff can be welcoming and helpful, but depending on the day, they can also come across as less friendly or approachable. My bigger issue, though, is the gym etiquette from some of the members. I notice a lot of people don't wipe down their sweat after using benches or equipment, and some don't rerack their weights when they're finished. There was actually one situation where a guy finished his workout, left the bench covered in his sweat, and walked away. I politely asked him, "Hey, are you done with this?" He just stared at me and walked away without saying anything or wiping down the bench. Like, come on, dude. Talk about being a jerk. It takes a few seconds to wipe down the equipment after you're done using it. I also wish people were more aware of their surroundings when recording themselves. If you're filming a workout, that's fine, but getting annoyed because someone happens to walk behind you or needs to walk through the area to rerack weights is unnecessary. The gym is a shared space, not a personal studio. Be aware that other people are trying to work out too. Another major issue is how overcrowded it can get, especially around 4:00 a.m. I'm sometimes like, "Damn, it's this crowded already?" The gym has a lot of equipment, but when it's packed, getting to the equipment or dumbbells you actually want can feel like navigating an obstacle course. You might have to go around multiple people, benches, machines, or weights just to get to the equipment you're trying to use. That being said, I do like the gym overall. It has plenty of equipment and it gets the job done. I just think better gym etiquette from members, a little more awareness when filming, and better management of the crowded areas would make the experience much better.

I'm not in the way shape and she helps me not to give up when I want to. I tend to faint when I get overheated, and Melissa always works with me to keep me safe and grounded. She even sends me yummy recipes that make eating healthy feel less intimidating. honestly somewhere along the way I found a friend too. This review is incredibly overdue, my bad Melissa…read more This gym is for every body type, any background, & everyone. They have group classes (varying between 5-15 people,) small group training (about 3-6 people & priced a little bit more) & personal one-on-one sessions (1-2 people priced a little higher.) You can even drop in & try a class as a walk-in (for less than $20) & see how you like it. Every trainer is different in teaching style, but with the same goal in mind--to get their clients a good workout & good sweat. If you need modifications because of an injury let it be known & they'll tailor it for you. Having the right form is extremely important to me so I appreciate when the trainers would correct me or show us the correct form. I found community here when I wasn't even searching for it. I was reminded to have a strong & positive mindset & that I would only see results if I put in the work. This isn't just a gym. Melissa puts in a lot of hard work, time, energy & dedication to not only her clients, but also in providing equipment that measures up to those same standards. So what are you waiting for? Get in here! I promise you'll leave every sesh feeling sore & sweaty, but also full of endorphins & thankful you moved your body. (Oh! & you can rock the cute merch.)
