I have been to Muffler Man twice in the last 2 weeks. My car car needed exhaust work. They…read moreexplained and showed me what was wrong with my exhaust, gave me a quote. They didn't pressure me into getting the work done, they said it was up to me. It only needed mufflers. The price was exactly what was quoted. My wife's car was making loud noise. She got a quote from another service station, $200 to fix. I brought it to Muffler Man in Ionia . They put it on the rack and showed me where the exhaust manifold was loose. All they had to do is just tighten the bolts and it was fixed!!! These people working at Muffler Man in Ionia are GREAT. Thanks again guys!!!. Dave F

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH MUFFLER MAN!! HEED MY WARNING-I would never do business with Muffler man. I…read morewent to get a shock fixed and the owner was being nice and threw in an oil change for me. I at first said no but he insisted. Which it was nice of him to want to help me out. I waited quite a while then decided to take a quick trip to meijer (my mom came and picked me up). About 10 to 15 mins later we are back and my car was parked outside. I went inside and grabbed the keys to start my car up. It sounded like a go kart. I was going to go around the block to being it back. My car didn't even go half a block before it stalled. Started it again and got myself out of the road. Checked the oil and there was absolutely no oil in my engine. I took a picture and called them up. They came down and put oil in my engine and apologized up and down. I get people make mistakes. How muffler man handled the mistake is is where the problem lies. They did nothing but give me a free oil change voucher and told me to come back of I have any issues with the vehicle. They also told me no damage was done to the engine. Which is 100% lie. All I wanted was my engine replaced with one that had similar miles to the one I had in my car (i blew my engine because I had very little oil in it and had to replace it.) Muffler man should have replaced the engine and let me have the work done where ever I wanted and they should have provided a rental vehicle for me to use while my car was getting fixed. It wasn't my fault they did what they did. I wasn't going back to there to have muffler man touch my vehicle. That isn't being mean to the employees, the business in general I would not step foot into even if they were the only mechanic shop within a million miles. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH MUFFLER MAN!

Not sure if they are in the process of switching business names, but thought people should know. Bought a 2011 Subaru Outback in December 2021 from this place. Pictures from this dealership posted online were misleading. Showed none of the minor dents, minor body rusts, minor accident on front drivers side of the vehicle. None of that was shown in the photos. I ended up buying the vehicle. I had someone with me somewhat familiar with vehicles. This is where this is my fault and I learned a lot of lessons buying a vehicle not just from this dealership but in general. I get the vehicle home and within the first month, I had to replace rear wheel bearings, ball joints, struts, and the muffler just fell off in a parking lot one day. I get the oil changed because I'm catching a theme nothing was done to this vehicle and the air filter was literally black!!!!!!!!!! All of this within the first month of owning it!  A woman, the salesman that works here tells me that the brakes and rotors were just replaced. Find a receipt that says the rotors and brakes were replaced in 2014!! So let's wrap this up.... Totally my fault for buying this vehicle and not doing my homework prior, I'll take the blame for that. I will take responsibility as I have no other option and make this car a great car. But what I won't take responsibility for is this dealerships lack of honesty. I understand business's need to make a profit but why not be the change in the world and make a profit while also selling great and honest vehicles?? The manager says they do a 36 point inspection before listing their vehicles for sale in previous replies to customers complaints on google reviews. I can testify that this is a lie. Maybe buy a vehicle from here but also beware that this dealership MAY sell you a vehicle that they have done nothing to other than purchasing it from the previous owner. Which you could end up with a vehicle with all kinds of issues. Ask yourself, why did the previous owner get rid of it?? BEWARE, always get the vehicle checked by a local mechanic, regardless if you have to sit for hours. Just do it!!!! I promise it will be worth it in the end. This business could have been honest about their vehicle that they sold.

I bought a brand new 2018 Colorado here in December and have had problems from the day I brought it home. I have been pleading with GM to buy the vehicle back because there has been a horrible chemical smell coming from the heating vents whenever the heat is on. The vehicle was "repaired" in Columbus, OH (where I live) by replacing all heating parts, however, they were never able to even diagnose the problem, and at one point told me they thought it could be a dead animal that climbed into the truck on Young's lot. Now that the dealership in Columbus has given the vehicle back to me I can still smell the chemical smell, but they said they don't smell it and that it's safe to just keep driving the vehicle and see if it burns off. It seems odd to me that they can deem the vehicle safe when they don't even know what has been causing the chemical smell to begin with. Anyway, GM referred me back to Young of Ionia to see if this dealership will work with me and buy the truck back since they are the ones who sold it to me, and though this dealership has not even called me back to tell me they will not be taking care of their customer, GM called me to tell me that today. So basically I am forced to keep driving this "brand new" defective vehicle because they claim the chemical smells are normal and just left over from the repairs and just need to burn off. My family has been repeat customers of purchasing brand new vehicles at Young and it's sad to see that this is the state of customer service these days. If we are all being honest, it wouldn't hurt Young's bottom line to buy back a defective vehicle and fix it on their own time. Unfortunately, it's time to make the traditional angry customer threat of- I will never, ever, buy another Chevy here at Young, or anywhere else, and I will of course tell my story to anyone who will listen.
