Perfect. For my old 1998 Subaru Forester, wanted to add a screen with wireless(blue tooth) Android Auto and of course using my existing stereo speakers. For a little more it seemed best to also add a back up camera which I had also gotten used to with a newer model vehicle I own. Very big smile and very pleased with the finished product and the installer walked me out to my car and went over the basics to make sure I could get connected and how it all worked. There was also a temperature and compass display on the old vehicle that I had cut the power to during a do it yourself project, that they noticed and just fixed for free as they instilled the new unit. After having my old subwoofer and amp for nearly 15 years, I was due for an upgrade for many reasons. The person at the front desk was very friendly and familiar with my previous setup, so he knew exactly what would be a similar setup that would be worth my money. After the install appointment was finished I was accompanied to help give me the rundown on the new setup and test. Everything was tuned perfectly and I just am ecstatic every time I can go out and drive my car with my music. Music is such a joy in my life and now I can enjoy quality music as an audiophile, but also help refine the mix and low end of my own music by listening to it in my car. THERES SOMETHING YOU SHOULD KNOW...... I consider myself a pretty fair and open- minded person when it comes to reading and writing reviews when it comes to businesses and how they operate. There has been a couple of negative reviews (not left by me) but I'm here to set the record straight!! When I walked in, I was not treated as a gender (either male or female) rather I was treated as a PERSON :) Both the gentlemen were very professional, straightforward, precise and knowledgeable and I'm happy to say did not give me the run-around, try to haggle or increase sales with small talk. Very refreshing! They gave me an estimate after looking at my car and advised they could schedule my car fairly quickly, which is exactly what I was looking for, I didn't want to have to wait weeks on end for install. After the install, I was expecting the cost to be a bit higher then what was quoted, as I understand sometimes there are situations that can't be foreseen like extra parts or inaccessibility which creates extra time for labor. I was so shocked to find out that they were spot on with their estimate, and they did not try to charge me more. Fantastic business, amazing install!! Very, very cool people! James and his Drive In Audiosound establishment has been my go-to stereo and automotive electronics shop for close to 10 years now, and frankly I wouldn't go anywhere else. James and his technician/installation specialist, Kirk, do great work and can do anything from basic repairs to full-blown competition systems. Most of my patronage was centered around James doing in-car entertainment installations as well as electrical charging enhancements to my '96 Ford Bronco pre-runner/chase truck. He's done head unit installations, added amplifiers and speakers, and designed and upgraded my charging system to a DC Power 270 amp unit with enhanced charging cables (1/0), and extra battery, and grounding straps. I am a ham-radio operator and having that extra battery for my radios and all that extra power made a huge difference for my truck. He's also re-wired my off-road lighting for increased reliability as well (and recently diagnosed a bad Hella relay and changed that out for me for minimal cost.) All great work. Now that I've sold my Bronco, my next project is going to be enhancements to my 2006 Mazdaspeed 6's Bose sound system (read: amplifier, new speakers, and a stronger sub-woofer.) I came in on two occasions, the first was to get my back up camera replaced on my truck. James greeted me as soon as I walked in. He was very friendly and courteous. He priced me out and off i went. I dropped my truck off Saturday morning and the camera was installed within a few hours. The second time I came in it was to replace my speakers and the box. Again he quoted me and off I went. I dropped my truck off a few days later and he redid everything within a few hours. I don't want to forget to mention that after both installs he showed me how everything looked with the camera and sounded when he did the box and speakers. Last weekend I pretty much had all of the stuff I needed to get two 12's bumpin in my truck. I'm no car audio guru so i wanted it done professionally. Originally I was going to go the Best Buy route for my install but all there prices for equipment are way higher than the same stuff on Amazon so do your research plus there tech couldn't even select the right double din kit for my deck. No thanks. So then I went the route of local installers. I figured to go with the most recognizable or popular ones via advertising and google searching. This brought me to Sound Warehouse. I wanted my install done today like any impatient music lover wit new toys and they said "Sure, Come on in..." I was excited so I drove 30 min down there and when I got inside they told me there was no more available opening. Ughhh...Bite Me. It was already 1:00 pm and I knew time was short so I called around and I was lucky enough to get a slot at Drive-In Autosound. I met my installer James and he was totally helpful. I showed him my stuff and he went right to work. Now I know I got lucky with the time slot but it was NOT luck when it came to how fast James hooked all my equipment up...1 hr 50 min...And that was for a head unit/kit, bluetooth phone setup, amp, subs and a super clean wiring job. All in all it was $200 bucks but that is on par with what I had done anywhere else. They had a waiting room with cable TV but it needed a couch in there instead of picnic chairs. They only thing is I wish James would have shown me any possible adjustments i could make to the sound but I didn't ask so that was my bad. Awesome job guys and Ill definitely be back. I got a Groupon deal for this place, $199 for a remote car starter with installation ($368 regular price). I dropped my car off at 10 AM and they told me it would be done in 3-4 hours. A couple hours later they called me and said I had given them the "wrong" key and that I would have to pay an extra $112 for a new one since I didn't have the "right" key. I finally picked my car up at 5 PM that night (SEVEN hours after I had dropped it off). My ignition now looks like someone broke into my car and tried to steal it. The light that helps you find the key slot on the ignition is gone. I was told that it's now hidden somewhere in my car along with this extra mystery key I had to buy. I'm not sure if this was all legit or if I got ripped off because I'm a woman, but the whole experience left me feeling uneasy and wishing I hadn't gone there. Seven hours to install a remote starter makes me think that maybe this isn't their forte. Oh, and I saw a sign in the store saying I could get a remote starter installed for $129. When I asked about that, I was assured that the model I was getting was much nicer. Huh. Overall, the remote starter works fine so far, so that's why I gave them at least 2 stars. Stay away from this place. Not only did James charge me $100 more for a Kenwood Excelon than the going price and then $200 more for installation (Best Buy would have installed it for $79), he did the wiring so badly that he created a negative draw on the battery. In about 3 months this fried my car's electrical system and I had to have that repaired for a further $600. Not only is this guy an out and out crook, he is also totally incompetent. Took my vehicle in to get help having my new stereo sit in the dash correctly, they looked said $100 I was fed up by now I just wanted it done so I said ok. 10 min later they come back wanting $170 instead when I asked why they said they had to program the adapter for steering controls, I told them that was done and they said they had to redo all the connections. It's a harness plugged into another harness, the programming was done. All I asked for was helping getting it to sit properly in the dash, everything worked fine, this could have been an easy $100 for them but instead the sales guy up front said "if you don't want to pay it we won't do it." I recently had a system that was purchased through Amazon installed at Drive In Autosound. It looked great. On my way home I discovered the CD player didn't work. I went back and talked to them about it and they hooked me up with a better system for the same money as Amazon (which I'll get back by returning the crappy Pioneer to Amazon). They installed the new, new system for free. Unbelievable! These guys are the best. read more
