Had an intermittent issue with recently had installed. Of course whenever I went, it was working. Hard to fix something that isn't broken. They suggested coming down when not working of course, which happened. Found when the rear license plate holder when re-installed it was intermittently pinching the wire. So being new to Utah, not only do I not know anyone who would be able to help me find a trustworthy place to get my audio system from, but even where to begin looking. I had some previous work done at another sound system place and I wasn't very happy with their wait time for a product, their customer service at the time of install the quality, since some controls on my steering wheel were no longer working, I knew i had to find somewhere else! The dude Nick that works here is extremely knowledgeable. He helped me with my beautiful katzkin leather interior and then was having issues with my subs that their competitors told me was normal and turned out in about 1 minute flat he told me I had them wired out of phase and had the problem corrected and my stereo sounding amazing. It's nice to know this place has such knowledgeable staff that you can trust to give you solid advice on your cars interior or stereo. After dealing with Best Buy Geek Squad (who said that there wasn't much of an upgrade available... without even looking at the car (Mini Cooper S Convertible), but just googling it), I just about gave up. So I paid a visit to Innovative Audio and they were inspected the car and had some ideas. Well 15 minutes later they put together a complete package and scheduled me for installation. I took my brand new 2018 Toyota Tacoma to Innovative Audio to have them remove the Toyota crappy stock head unit and replace it with an Android Auto Pioneer unit. I was nervous at first since my truck was so new, but everything turned out great and they even worked with me when an issue with the head unit itself came up. The main thing I want to point out though is their customer service and people skills are amazing! The dudes there (Derek & Nick) are down to earth guys and really come off as caring about you, your vehicle, and your satisfaction. For example, Derek kept saying "That is a very nice truck man. We want to take care of it and won't let anything happen to it. You are going to love the upgrade". They do awesome install work (shout out to Bill), but really when it comes down to it, the way they treat their customers is what leaves a lasting impression on you and their down to earth chill nature. I left 100% satisfied and comforted and I know that they stand behind their work and will support their customers if something comes up in the future. I went here a few weeks ago to have my car stereo system (installed by a different vendor) adjusted, and was so happy with the quick diagnosis and repair that I returned when I decided to have a new system installed altogether. Nick recommended a similar model to my already existing system, and another member of his crew installed it in about 30 minutes (quick because my vehicle was already wired for the technology). They have an area with a comfy sofa and cable television to hang out in while you wait (no metal folding chairs and fluorescent lights here!), as well. I found the service to be professional and highly technically proficient. I will return for any future needs I may have, for they do automotive security and navigation, too. read more

I spent over $3000 with them and another $1000 to fix all of their mistakes. When I picked up my car it wouldn't even drive. The technician said he had "accidentally drilled through some wires." After two hours they fixed it but there were multiple other issues. My inside door locks don't work and my automatic door locks don't work anymore either. I tried two times to get it fixed with them but every time my appointment got bumped. I wasn't informed about this either time until I had arrived. To top it all off, the dash cam they installed no longer works either. To date, 80% of the work they have done has failed or never worked properly from the beginning. I called to see if they had shallow mount head units. They assured me that they had them. I was expecting to find various models to find exactly what I need for my car. I go in and find they only have one. Then when they didn't have the head unit I wanted, I decided to just get the steering wheel control adapter that I also need. They had it, so I purchased it. They gave me a price match discount because they charge more in the store than they do at Best Buy, amazon, or even their own online store. Then when I opened the box, the adapter had already been used. When I brought it back, the clerk didn't seemed phased by the fact that I paid for a new product but received a used item. read more

My friend accidentally kicked my amp that was underneath my seat and a wire got loose and came off, so it needed to be fixed and also re tuned a little. I took it in and they were able to fix it within 5 mins and it actually sounds better than before! I went to a few different car audio places in Utah looking for someone to add speakers and power to my factory head unit (so I could keep all my controls and interface), create high quality sound and still keep the factory appearance throughout. Jai, Brad and Dave were phenomenal!! Installing a stereo in today's automobiles can be very complex, and I wanted an audiophile grade install. Jai picked out high quality gear with a keen eye on price and value. He came up with a plan to do the work in phases and yet still kept the costs reasonable. Dave blended in the gear beautifully to make sure the install didn't affect the factory look and feel of my vehicle, and Brad dialed in the sound to make sure it sounded amazing! I couldn't be happier with my system!! I've been putting high end audio into my car for over 25 years and this is the best sounding system I have ever owned. Had them instal a Viper 5706v on my 1996 jeep cherokee I also wanted some add ons and they informed me that the alarm already had what I wanted and the extras would just cost more and be pretty much useless. They installed the alarm and remote start but ran into a problem with head lights and turn signals not working and failed to call me and inform me of the situation when I picked up the jeep I was informed by the installer of the problem. He said he couldn't figure out the situation and suggested replacing headlight switch I took it home and found a head light switch at oriley auto parts installed same thing still happening. I decided to wiggle all connection spliced into wires forcing them in too the connector more they all looked good though so didn't have high hopes but fixed the problem. Very simple fix . The alarm and remote start working very good . read more

I recently had a stereo system installed by this place. I dealt with an initially very friendly salesman named Rob. I bought a head unit, subwoofer and amplifier. The salesman told me that they would mount my amp on the back seat. The salesman told me that they would run the RCA cables separate from the power cables back to the trunk. The salesman told me that they would put something on the bottom of the subwoofer to keep it from sliding around in my trunk. None of those things happened. Substandard in every way. Everything worked so I did not think too much of it but was a bit disappointed in what I got for my money. Later, when I started having trouble with the head unit, I called and was told that they would be able to swap it out in about an hour, just call and make an appointment. This sounded great until I called, made an appointment and showed up. When faced with actually having to do something to back their products up I was told that I would have to leave my car with them for "a couple of days" for them to troubleshoot the issue. Or they could take the head unit out and leave me without a stereo for at least 2 weeks. He was rude about it and offered no other options as he apparently just wanted me out of the store. None of this was acceptable. And when confronted with it, the salesman acted like I was being unreasonable for expecting them to keep their word. And as I walked out the door, the salesman was making snide comments about customers and warranties clearly aimed at me. Avoid! Or if you must use them, get EVERY detail in writing and get a signature on it. But really, don't waste your time or money there are plenty of other worthy shops in the valley. read more

Did a good job adding keyless remote switch to my 1998 4runner.

so this is an update since i recently received a notification that my google review had been reviewed more than 1,000 times. thought i should share my experience. i had them install a new amp and my existing box with 2 subs(12") plus parts to wire everything up. Derek was the face of the company for me and told me that they use copper wire instead of the cheaper and less safe over a period of time aluminum wire. i ended up purchasing a new box for my subs which derek recommended and i haven't looked back since january 9,2018. everything STiLL works great! derek even showed me how to use my deck and also recommended and showed me on my 2004 escalade that if needed there is space for another battery if i wanted in the future. i had no idea. i had already upgraded my alternator from 105 to 140 amps and purchased the best battery auto zone had before i brought in my escalade. i also have kids so derek's placement of the amp under the 2 row drivers side bench is a perfect location to keep out of reach for children. understand they charge more than best buy and remember you always get what you pay for and a quality install, quality parts and much experience is exactly what i received. i graduated from jordan high school in 2000 and they've been around since. not sure when they opened but they know how to stay open. I received poor service and at Innovative Audio. If you've ever had a feeling that a company has so much business that they really could care less about your personal situation and individual needs, you'll understand my review. This is the experience that I had at Innovative Audio. As I made the scheduling phone call, I was specific about my needs to have the remote starter removed from my existing truck into my new truck. Simple right? Not really. I was given a specific price quote with a disclaimer that there may be more parts needed and the price could increase once the installer got into the job, which was completely understandable and made sense. I agreed to the price quote and dropped off my truck for the work to be completed . When I picked up the vehicle and was paying the invoice, I noticed that there were additional fees and charges included. I asked if there were additional parts needed for the service and if that was why the invoice was higher than expected. The representative replied, "No, there were not extra parts needed but we charge extra for tape and other stuff". His response seemed inconsistent with what I was originally told, but I just accepted it and moved on. I decided to give them a shot at redemption, and a week later I dropped off my new truck to have the remote starter re-installed. During the drop off, I inquired about their speaker options and wanted to some advice as to what the representative recommended for my set-up. He basically shrugged it off and said, "Let me look at what we have", and began chatting with a co-worker. I stood there for approx. 15 minutes wondering if he might respond to my request for more equipment and more business. Eventually the representative walked away never addressing the speaker options whatsoever. Apparently, he did not need extra business or potential income for the company that day. As I went back in to pick up my truck, I was skeptical that the final bill would be different than the original amount that I was quoted and already had a horrible expectation from what I had experienced prior. Not to my surprise, the final bill total was $64.54 above the quoted price. Again, I asked, "Why is the price so much higher than the quoted price and were there additional parts needed in the service this time?" The representative responded, " Actually, no additional parts were needed, but the taxes and everything else made it a "little higher" I guess". I was speechless at this point and just wanted to leave asap. I noticed on my receipt that there was a miscellaneous charge for ~$40. I considered making a scene, but at this point, I was just done with the unprofessional employees and horrible service I'd received. Needless to say, I will never again use or recommend Innovative Audio again. I would recommend taking your business to a company that actually cares about the customer... -Luke read more
