So I have been an avid Spray Tanner in SF since I moved here from sunny southern cali in 2005! I have done the Tan Bella, the Mystic Tan, the SunDaze, Ocean Tan, and many many more trying to find the best tan and the best deal. What I look for in a tanning salon: 1. AAAA+++++ customer service! I am getting NAKED in your business, SO do not act like a stuck up B-$@*H with your orange skin and think you are better than me. I am paying lots of money for a tan that lasts less than 2 weeks, because I CAN afford it. JANAT at DRIVE BY TAN IS SOOOO personable and likable!!! She makes you feel just like a girl friend and not customer!!! She is absolutely the sweetest specialist I have ever met and does everything in her power to make you comfortable and feel sexy! Plus you are tanning in her own home, so she is making the experience personal for herself as well. She is so professional way more than actual salons! She explains everything in detail and takes her time, because she is passionate about the process. She does not rush you and yet you still get in and out in a jiffy! No wonder she calls it Drive By Tan! 2. I want a Beautiful, glowing, long lasting, even bronzed tan! I do not want streaks or to look orange after, nor do I want peeling, or uneven "spots". JANAT is an absolute PERFECTIONIST! She has perfected her own "poses" so that you get the most even and beautiful tan possible. She knows when to double coat on skin that need extra solution to darken evenly and when to minimize the coat so you don't get too dark in some areas as well. I was amazed at how quickly I begin tanning and how beautiful it was compared to other salons (ie see names above). Usually a tan would take about 3-4 hours to be noticeable and 7-8 hours to reach maximum. My tan with Janat began kicking in before I even left her and I used the CLEAR solution! (NO BRONZER because I don't like to worry about my clothes!) 2 hours in I was sexy and dark and lovin it! 8 Hours in I need to shower because I would be too dark for my skin. But also let me clarify I mean dark as in BRONZED NOT ORANGE!!!! Plus it doesn't hurt when My man tells me my skin is soft and sexy and different than the others tans I have gotten in the past! 3. I want a tan that is worth the money I spend! We all know that spray tans are expensive, especially in SF, but with the fog it is necessary! TanBella offers 10% student discounts, but $80-90/month packages and you do have to go in a lot because it doesnt last and it streaked! grrrrr JANAT has reasonable prices and if you buy a package deal it is SOOOO worth it! Way better deal and WAY BETTER TAN than anywhere I have been in SF! Plus she is available whenever you need her! Even last minute! Great for wedding and special occasions!!! BASICALLY My only downside is that I didn't hear about Janat sooner! I am moving from SF in a few months, and JANAT is going to be my regular tanner until I leave! And when I come back!!! Wow! Seeing Janet was one of the best decisions I have made all month! I was not sure what to expect as it was my first time, but Janet was extremely professional and knowledgeable. She worked with my scheduale, and made the whole thing very convenient. All I can say is she did some tan magic! I am not one to toot my own horn, but hot damn! I got my very first spray tan yesterday. Living in SF, it's difficult to keep a tan year round, like when i lived in SoCal. I decided to get a spray tan for an upcoming photo shoot. Although nervous and naive, I found a groupon for a Spray Tan with Drive by Tan. I called to make an appointment with very short notice. Janet was amazing, professional and accommodating. She spent time to discuss the details, color options and taking care of the tan (for long lasting results). Janet even text me the next morning to see how it turned out. The process took about 20 mins. Initially the color was not so noticeable, but Janet assured me it would develop over the next few hours- AND YES IT DID! Last Friday I got a charming spray tan from Janet. It was my first time and I was a little nervous that the skin can become orange or yellow. The result has exceeded all my expectations. My skin tone looks naturally bronzed. The only mistake that I've made is touching my hands with the oil that Janet covered my nails and the inner part of my hands. I got some white spots because the tan doesn't work on the oil. Janet told me that, but I didn't pay attention :) She is very knowledgeable and communicative. This review is a bit overdue. Some friends invited my husband and I to visit them in the wine country over 4th of July weekend and lounge by the pool. My ivory skin looks downright sickly when exposed in a bikini, despite being very fit. I reached out to Janet and she was quick and accomodating in fitting me in for a last-minute appointment. Janet is the best! This was my first 'manual' tan, I've only gotten one spray tan before from a spray machine, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Janet made me feel so comfortable and told me exactly what to do and what to expect. She was very precise to make sure it was an even tan all over. The tan looks absolutely AMAZING!!
