Contacted Driscoll for a small project on November 7th. Returned the signed proposal on the 8th and told I would be called when put on the work schedule. Weeks passed with no call, so I decided to contact them myself several times to hear an excuse and that they would call me when my small project was put onto the work schedule. Every time I left a voice, text or email I never received a reply!!! Finally after almost 2 months they call!!! Can you believe it!!! I already found another roofer who is doing the work right away, and less expensive too!!! Don't waste your time on lame excuses and lack of consideration as a customer!!! Had my roof done 25 years ago when father Mike ran the business and he did a great job. Need a new roof now but Mike's son has taken over the business. It is night and day. I wasted two months after Mike came out and looked at my roof. He promised an estimate in a week but never gave me one after six calls. His mother even said he was going to come out with the installer and look at my roof again. He never came back after I made several follow up calls. If he didn't want the job he could have told me that but they just strong me along. He didn't even have the courtesy to let me know so I would'nt have wasted all the time waiting. I finally got discounted and went with someone else. The were a great company when Mike ran it. Now that son Steve runs it they are no longer trust worthy. I would never recommend them again. It's a shame how the next generation destroyed their reputation after 25 years. read more

A fantastic company to work with! I had our roof done, and am completely satisfied with the workmanship as well as the product. Several nice people in their "production" department kept me informed of the progress of the order, and Mike, who supervises the crew, couldn't be nicer, or more informative. He discovered several things the previous roofer did wrong, that contributed to some rot on the roof decking and fascia boards. All items were corrected and the new roof installed in just a day & a half. We have a Mansard roof, which is not the easiest thing to work with. The installation crew did a masterful job. Steve Driscoll called me back today to inform me that the folks that came to my home in September and gave me the bad advice on my roof were no longer with the company. He made mention they had a few other complaints of the employee(s) so I guess they parted ways. It was nice that they were concerned and called to give me an update. Driscoll came out and gave us the best quote out of three companies. They were also the only company that followed up after quoting the job. The finished job looks great from the street. They cleaned up everything when they were done. The only disappointment was the length of time that we had to wait for them to start. The constant rain through April and May made it impossible to get up on the roof. It was just something that could not be avoided. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

High winds took shingles and siding off recently. Was just getting ready to list my property and had called original roofing company who said they couldn't do anything until better weather. After a few weeks and plenty of rain I got pretty nervous. Called Driscoll and Steve came out the same day to survey damage. He quickly provided an estimate. Driscoll recently completed repairs on existing roof. They were quick on scheduling the estimate and review of the work. The quote was reasonable but was most impressed with the honest advice and scope of work completed. They ultimately found less damage than expected and therefore charged me less than previously quoted. My issue has since resolved and I am extremely satisfied. I highly recommend! read more

If you're looking to get a roof done or repaired take my advice and stay far away from Driscoll Roofing in Addison. They were referred to us by another contractor and we are very sorry we went with them. Here is what they did to us. We had gotten three proposals to replace our roof. Driscoll's proposal came in at approx $2500 - $3000 less than the other two companies. So based on that and the referral we had gotten we went with them. Before giving us the proposal, they came to our house and inspected the roof from on top and inside the attic. We already knew we had some wood that needed to be replaced and at that time they estimated that about 10-15 boards might have to be replaced. When we got the proposal it was for around $9000 to do a complete tear out. Once they started, however, they began to add more boards needing to be replaced and vents needing to be cut out and in the end the amount we had to pay was over $12,000, which ended being more than one of the other proposals. They actually underbid the job by almost 35% or $3000 dollars! That is unheard of. When we brought it to their attention they said they could not tell from inside the attic how many boards would need to be replaced and of course that was a separate and additional cost on the proposal. My wife who was there the entire time counted 40 boards on their truck but they insisted they replaced 45 even when their worker also told us it was 40. In the end they deducted around $150 from the final bill and basically bullied us into paying it because we had just gotten an offer on our house and need this settled before the closing. Since then, (July 22nd) we have repeatedly asked for a final paid in full invoice and that the warranties for their labor and the materials be sent to the new owners and they have refused. The issue is now going to my attorney. Do yourself a favor and avoid these guys. My belief is that they purposely underbid to get the jobs and then get you with add ons once they start. As a consumer I am entitled to get a paid in full invoice and they told us they would give the new owners the warranties which they also have a right to. In my opinion this is not a reputable company and I hope that this post may at the very least keep any of my friends from having to deal this too. read more
