This place full of interactive, submersible art in the Warehouse District is the perfect spot to spend a hot or rainy day-and just get lost in the exhibit. It's a vibe, a mood, a vacation from the ordinary-and after visiting once, I've got to go back. Fairgrounds is located near Tropicana Field. We went on a Saturday in October 2023. It was busy, but not crowded. We were able to wander and explore at our own pace and to our hearts' delight. If you love old Florida, B movies and all things fun and fresh, you'll dig this place. The staff was really friendly-you can get tickets online, or in person when you get there-and parking was easy the day we were there. Have fun exploring. This will scratch your kitsch itch.

Let me be clear, I completely understand that but it shld be clearly disclosed on the web page that you will cancel events that don't have enough attendance.. don't allow me to book a class at 1:30pm on a Friday evening for 630pm that same day especially if you already know you are probably going to cancel it. Put a disclosure on the site that says something like 'if we don't have 10 people signed up for this evenings event it will be cancelled and so far we have 0.. ' so people know and don't plan their whole night around going to this cancelled event... especially when you have a strict no refund policy when a customer cancels within 24 hours of said event.. just give potential customers the same courtesy you expect them to give you......

Madeline was our instructor and was fabulous. Very kind, informative and patient. We each created three pieces and were able to keep our two best. Once completed, we moved to the glazing station and were able to personalize our pieces. All materials were included. Bring a beach towel to throw over your lap to dry your hands and prepare to get a little messy! We met a lovely couple who were also "throwing" for the first time. It was a surprise birthday present from her husband. We had a lot of fun and can't wait to see our finished works of art once they are fired. Additionally they have lovely pieces for sale made by local artisans who rent cubicles in the studio.

The only tricky part is that the classes are small so finding availability can be tough. One thing I will say is that if you purchase a Groupon, this is not a one-day task completion. You have to throw your pieces during the wheel class and then schedule yourself to come back in a few weeks after the pieces are dry and glaze your pottery. Then, you have to come back in a few weeks to pick up your finished pottery. My class was in mid-January. I came back to glaze in mid-February and then due to the coronavirus, I just picked up my finished pieces last weekend. They hold your finished pieces for about 3 months. The staff was very pleasant in all aspects of this business. I had to email early on since my Groupon was about to expire and they didn't have availability and they pleasantly let me know I could schedule even if my Groupon expired. I won't say that this will happen for you, but I thought it was nice. The lady that taught the wheel throwing class was also very patient and focused on making sure you made a quality piece that you could be proud of. You get to throw two pieces, so if you mess up one, then you have a backup. The class was for about 1-2 hours. When I came back to glaze about 3 weeks later, it was nice to just sit and paint amongst other amateurs guessing how their pieces would turn out after they were fired. It was kind of calming just painting. I had to email again to ask if I would be able to pick up my pieces as I didn't want them to be tossed out. The staff again kindly let me know how long they keep pottery. Then, coronavirus happened and I think everyone's policies changed daily. The staff still assured me that my pieces would be there when I contacted them through Facebook messenger. Nonetheless, I'm happy with the pieces I made. Even though the whole process from start to finish took a while, I think this activity was great for the price I paid on Groupon.

The first Sunday of every month, they host Toddlerdega, or an event where you can bring your own power wheels vehicle and younger kids can drive around the track. The event is from 9-11 am. The cost is $5 per driver and if you need to rent a power wheel for the day, it's an additional $20 for the session. The kids have such a great time and the other parents who attend have all been nice to meet. This is a good time to meet other parents with kids the same age (it's so hard as an adult to meet new people). Towards the end of the session, all of the kids can line up and participate in a grand prix. Recently, there's been so many participants that they've been racing kids by category. It's nice for a place to be so accommodating to toddlers. Our friends are planning a birthday party there. I'm excited to see what the experience will be like.

The track boasts a mix of turns and straight stretches, providing plenty of opportunities for overtaking. The staff is very friendly, and the karts are great. ProKarting is a fantastic spot for family fun, and it's a great place to celebrate special occasions as well.

Parking is great with plenty of overflow and the location is very easy to get to by foot or car. The refreshments during intermission could be a little better (like better beer) but the prices are reasonable. The space in the lobby and outside are very pleasant and a nice place to stretch the ol' getaway sticks. Overall, it is a nice facility for the smaller community in Gulfport and fits well with the general character of its surroundings.

For those who don't know what a…read morepaint and sip is (a lot don't)- basically a business, like Painting With A Twist, has paint classes everyday where you pay admission per person and each class you are taught step by step how to create a specific painting. If you are of age, you have the option of bringing alcohol to sip as you paint, but you totally don't have to. Some places provide the alcohol, but this specific location at least is byob (bring your own beer). Seriously, even if you aren't an artistically inclined or creative person taking a painting class can still be a ton of fun. My dad is not artistic at all, doesn't have an artistic bone in his body really and he knows it, and he still had a ton of fun in the class and learned a lot. Plus, you have an instructor who walks you through how to paint small step by small step, and if you have questions they walk around and will help you correct things as well, so you really have as much guidance as you want, or not. As our hilarious instructor Scott said, "This is FUN art, not FINE art." This really was a ton of fun and i'm for sure going to take more classes in the future, it was the best night and Scott our instructor really helped to make it all the more fun!

It's so colorful and cheerful inside. You can feel the creativity flowing and gelling. Inspo is everywhere. We paid $10 for the special ghouls night out session... but I've heard you can do walk ins, too. There are shelves full of all sorts of figures and plates and other pottery to choose from. The prices are on the bottom-and that covers the paint and the firing. My friend and I had a table to ourselves-and could spread out our snacks and drinks (they had cupcakes, cookies and small cans of soda available but you can also byob and foods. We brought charcuterie items, champagne and pumpkin doughnuts). It was such a relaxing and happy experience-painting, snacking and chatting. The staff checks on you. You can also go ask for more paint at any time. My spider won't win any awards-but he sure was fun to decorate! I can't wait to see how he'll look after firing. I'm told the colors will darken. It should be ready for pickup in about a week. I'm told they have art classes, day camps and summer camps and that you can hold parties here. It's fun for all ages and I may bring my mom, sister and niece here for some three generation bonding. It's a comfortable space with lots of easy parking available. My first time visiting here - we came because I saw on social media that they were having a pottery…read moresale. We showed up at 10 am when it was supposed to start, but clearly that was just a suggested time, because some of the artists had not even shown up yet, much less had their table with merchandise ready. The clay center is one of a few local Morean places; there is also the Morean Arts Center, and the Chihuly Collection on Central Ave. in St. Petersburg. We used the time waiting for the outside to be ready to wander around the inside of the clay shop. The building is an old railway station, and very interesting looking, with high ceilings and plenty of space for the makers. Merchandise was for sale on shelves up and down the walls. There were many different items for sale ranging from bowls, mugs, and plates to sculptures, all created by different artists in their own personal styles. We found out later that many of the artists were just bringing their inside work out to tables outside. I love that they have an "artists in residence" program - I saw one of their artists, Tyler Quintin, at a craft show and loved his work, followed him on social media, and then heard about this show. The best part of the day was watching a Raku pottery demonstration. It was amazing! After a second firing, the pottery was coated with a glaze in front of us, and then put in a trashcan with burning newspaper for a final firing. So neat! It looks like they offer a variety of classes, as well as intro-to-clay parties you can host for friends. I will definitely be back.

They have rotating art exhibits right when you enter to the right. Really cool pieces to look at. There was also a unique spoon exhibit towards the center of the building the last time I was there. It's like going to a museum for free lol. You just wander the aisles and look at the beautiful clay work. We usually end up spending about 1-2 hours here. And plan to come back at least once a month as long as they keep holding their events. :)

We stopped in during the St Pete 2nd Saturday Art Walk, which is really a MUST DO event. So many great galleries and shops to see in so many interesting neighborhoods. We parked by this gallery and stopped in on our way to Central Ave. They had pro sports team art by a local artist and some nice Carlton Ward photographs upstairs. He's a National Geographic photographer and has particpated in the missions up through Central Florida to highkight the areas natural features and advocate for conservation. Very friendly and helpful lady working at the gallery. They had a vintage early 70s pinball machine for sale that they let us play. :) All good.
