This is such a lovely gem in downtown Baraboo, right next to the Circus World Museum. The patio sits along the river and is the perfect way to spend a lazy summer afternoon. We arrived mid-day and had the entire outdoor section to ourselves. Given this was our first time, our server was super patient answering questions. While staying in the Dells, we looked for a place to eat. This restaurant was a little out of the way, about 20 minutes. I would have driven an hour for it!!!!! Amazing humans, fantastic food, and tremendous service!!! Best steak burger that I have EVER eaten! Mouthwatering walleye, fish tacos to be experienced, and bourbon shrimp that will make you want to stay forever! Too notch American distilled bourbon. Bread pudding for dessert and the bourbon brownie are my recommendations.. This place sits on the back of the river, so the feel is peace. Trust me on this. This was our second visit to Driftless Glen for lunch as part of a weekend trip to bike on the 400 and Elroy-Sparta trails. We sat outside by the river. Excellent service. Everyone working there treats customers great. Being a craft distillery, the most important thing to know is their craft bourbon is amazing. And they make excellent cocktails. This visit we shared a bourbon Manhattan, last time is it was a bourbon Old Fashioned. We did a flight of bourbon and brandy as well. Of course we had food too! We've had great service and for food we came early, so the chicken wings in Bourbon sauce were amazing as where my wife's sliders!

Wonderfully gorgeous place to stop. My husband loves their bourbon. We've been a couple times but this time has been our favorite. I got the ribs, they don't say they are baby back but they fall off the bone. The sauce is sweet and savory. Husband got a chicken bacon pasta dish that he loved . We shared six wings , which may be my favorite wings ever. They were charred and used a bbq sauce with their own bourbon. We ended it all with the bourbon glazed bread pudding . It was GIANT and absolutely scrumptious. It does have a bourbon taste to it so may not be for the younger kids who tag along. However, we loved it! read more

We were looking for a great place to stop for drinks and apps while we were visiting the Dells, so I turned to my most reliable source- Yelp. I was not disappointed, Driftless Glen Distillery is a beautiful venue in a beautiful spot. They have outside seating, but since it's October it's very cold out. They had plenty of indoor seating and were able to accommodate our request to be away from other people during this weird time of Covid. My husband and I arrived in time for appetizers. We ordered the pretzels and the Chili con Queso. For our drinks we each ordered a flight and we both found a new spirit that we really enjoyed. His was the WisconGin and mine was the S'more Rivershine. For dessert we split the creme brûlée. It was extremely hard to only choose one dessert from their many choices, so I guess we will have to make sure we come back another time to try more! We didn't opt to do a tasting tour here, but they have a spot right at the entrance where they do their tours and sell their merchandise. I loved that each table had a giant bottle of Driftless Glen hand sanitizer. The room we sat in was separated from the main dining room, so I'm sure that space could be reserved for a special occasion. Everyone who waited on us was extremely helpful and we felt everyone working was taking the best precautions when it came to the Covid pandemic. Came here for the tour and go so much more! Due to Covid we didn't get to take the tour of the bottling line but we got to see the distillery and barrel building. The tasting was awesome and it helped me determine what bottles I wanted to buy. The tour guide was great with lots of knowledge about the history of the distillery and owners. Next time we will have to stick around for some food and beverages (although I did get the Maple Old Fashion before I left). Would I come back. You betcha I will!! read more

The 'special' drinks were refreshing and very tasty! Try their cherry mojito and their cannonball - refreshing! There were no appetizers for lunch, so we made the pinsas the appetizers and shared with everyone - also yummy! Our favorite was the cajun pinsa - yummy! Then the main meal - the BBQ burgers! Stopped in while vacation camping at the nearby state park. This is a beautiful, new facility. Seating inside or out on the balcony. My wife had their burger with mashed cauliflower which said was good. She had the local beer. I had the island chicken with spicy potato salad. Both were good - the potato salad is spicy but not terribly hot. I had the Baraboo mule with gin - which had a generous pour! It was, well, different - didn't dislike it but had just the one. The restrooms are clean and again new. The only drawback - our serve could have been much more attentive. We visited at around 2pm on a Tuesday. There were several other diners but not enough to almost feel ignored or forgotten. There is an attached gift shop with all things distillery. The prices are a tad on the higher end. Driftless Glen is a unique place. The food and the drinks are very good. I give a 1 star rating to their manager who charged us a fee for bringing in a special dessert. We were celebrating a wedding rehearsal dinner there, and we made some cookies with the soon to be newlyweds picture on them. The manager charged me $34.00 for bringing in cookies. we had a party of 17 people who ate and had bar drinks. to say the least we spent a good chunk of money there. So glad we came here, great experience! We shade reservations for the tour at 4 followed by reservations for dinner at 5. We saw they had a Groupon so we got a little bit of a deal and who doesn't like a deal! The gentleman giving the tour was cool, he went through it at the right speed, he didn't drag it out but didn't push us along where we couldn't ask questions. In the middle of the tour, you do get a small tasting so be ready! Tour was informative and cool to listen to, you can also climb one of the ladders to see inside one of the huge containers which was pretty cool. At the end there's a tasting, you get 5 tastes although he definitely let you try all of them. The last one was a s'mores moonshine and it was absolutely amazing! Highly recommend trying that one if you can! We moved on to dinner from there and the waitress's were friendly. Service was quick and food came out rather quickly as well. Omg, the food was so good! I cannot stress that enough. We started with the Korean tacos and for our entrees we had the burger and shrimp scampi. All of it was so tasty and I honestly cannot wait to go back. The shrimp scampi actually had quite a bit of shrimp, they didn't skimp on the good stuff like most places do. One of the best places we've been to for food of all of the times going to the Dells area. I know this isn't in the Dells but it's so worth the trip. Do not pass this place by! The first time my wife and I went here the person at the door couldn't find my wife's reservation. They asked her numerous times if she made the reservation under a different name even though she told them no each time. Then when they finally decided to let us grace the restaurant with our presence we were told we couldn't sit outside we made the reservation two weeks in advance. Anyway the food was very good. The appetizers were fantastic, my friend and I ordered the Walleye and it was 3/8 " thick, and over cooked and super bland. My hubby loved the jambalaya, my brother ordered the tuna and both were fantastic. It was our anniversary and we got a complimentary dessert and it was as good. So I came into town for my friends birthday that's a week before mine so it was really a double birthday trip. Anyways, she brings me here for a tour. From the moment we arrived we received PHENOMENAL service. (Btw, this review is a year late but owed nonetheless) Okay so they let us know the tour starts in a few minutes and they wanted to make sure no one else was gonna show up. We're in no rush so we're like cool and go to the bar. The bar gives us the first round free for our birthday. Can we say in love? We end up ordering another drink cause you know..... we like to drink. Lol The tour was great. We walked through a door and entered a whole distillery. Our tour guide, I can't remember his name but there's a picture of him below, was AMAZING! He explained the whole process of how liquor is made and the differences. We also went to where they store the liquor in barrels and had a cute photo op. When we went back inside we had samples of what seemed like a million liquors. I've never been on such an entertaining, engaging, informational, FUN, liquor rewarded tour. Lol We had such a good time we cancelled our original reservations at another restaurant and had dinner here. And like the whole experience dinner was DELICIOUS. The ambiance is very nice both inside and out. The large patio overlooks the Baraboo River. The menu isn't extensive and some dishes and appetizers are only available after 3 or 5 o'clock. The waitress was pleasant but it took a long time for the food to come out (only three of us.) The prices are high for lunch. About $20.00 per person plus tip. Our bill for three adults was over $70.00 and we didn't order any alcohol only water. My husband ordered cheese with his burger. There was an up charge of $2.00. So depending on your frame of reference you may think the prices are high. We are going to look for another restaurant in Baraboo with more reasonable prices for lunch. read more

Tasting was excellent and service was clean and up to standards especially during COVID. Sampler was amazing and we went home with a bottle of the rye. I went here for lunch. I ordered the bbq bacon burger with the soup of the day (enchilada soup.) this was my mistake. The soup comes with beans. Not a fan but that's my personal opinion. I did ask what was in it but failed to specifically ask if there were beans. If you like beans this soup was fine. If you don't, avoid because it was loaded with smaller beans that weren't conducive to picking around. The burger was ok. Didn't seem to have a flavor that made it terrific. Prices were on the higher side. I probably won't be back since neither the food nor the prices were anything special. And if you don't like bees with your meal, definitely sit inside. I stopped in with a friend as part of a day of day dranking on a visit to Wisconsin. I haven't heard of Driftless Glen before, so I was intrigued. But it wasn't what I was expecting. At least when we were there, it was more just a restaurant than a distillery. They make their own liquor, but when we got there, we couldn't do a tour or tasting. I don't know if that is an all the time thing, not having tours. But I was a little disappointed. We decided to stay anyway and have a couple drinks and eat something anyway. As I recall, the drinks were alright and food was pretty good. I had the Bourbon BBQ Burger (let's just say...they are not shy with their bacon!!); hubby had the Pulled Pork. Both were excellent!! Also had cocktails with our sandwiches...Hubby did the Naughty Pickle Martini - with Bloody Mary mix, no less; and I had the Driftless Old Fashioned - Best.OF.EVER!!!! We did some "shopping" on the way out - I had to have some of that Brandy and Black Cherry Balsamic to attempt to duplicate that OF at home.
