When we showed up - parking was a nightmare at the beach. I specifically asked about parking / general info ahead of time. Would have been helpful for the locals to give a couple pointers and maybe let us know that wrist bands need to be purchased for all beachgoers, but whatever - that's on me. Just seemed like a little common courtesy / customer service. Here's the real issue though. 1 instructor for 10 kids!! The beach lesson was maybe one minute long before he had all of them (ages 16 - 5yrs old) walking into ocean and getting pummeled in the break. They had no idea how to protect themselves or others from the surf board getting thrown around. Kids were getting smashed by boards around them. Several of the adults jumped into ocean to help the kids get past the break and stayed in water to ensure they were somewhat safe. The instructor seemed to only give tips to one kid at a time when he was prompted to give a tip (ie - when do you start paddling to catch a wave). Instructor admitted it was too much for him to handle on his own but that's just how WW operates. If it was a group of 10 random strangers there would be two instructors, but apparently when it's a 'private lesson' of 10ppl - only one instructor regardless of how rough the ocean is. Unacceptable. Dangerous. Should be ashamed of themselves. Find another surf shop for your lessons!

They have a great selection of men's and women's swimsuits and apparel, as well as accessories for the surfer (or wannabe surfer) in all of us. I was very impressed with the sale section, as well. My boyfriend got a really cool multicolored pair of swim trunks for only like 20 bucks marked down from 45 bucks. Not a bad deal! The selection is much smaller than Island Surf & Skate, but you can't beat the easy walking access as it is part of a section of town with lots of shops and attractions. Ellis, the employee that was working, provided excellent customer service, and was knowledgeable, pleasant, and all around made the experience of shopping at Breakwater Surf very much worthy of a 5 star review!

Every time I visit I have found the people working to be helpful and willing to engage in a conversation about what I am looking for or helping me find the right fin for my board. It is important to buy local when shopping for a new board, wetsuit, or leash so the surfing community can continue in areas like Newport/Middletown.

At first it sounded too good to be true but I took his word and went. The trip can only be described as a dream. Walle had local connects in El Paredon from a private chef to local surfers. We were able to score clean glassy waves every single day. The food was included and consisted of fine dining at restaurants that used locally sourced ingredients as well as homemade meals from a private chef-thank you Andy Manzi. The best part of the trip was the vast improvement of my surfing skills thanks to both Andy and Walle's professionalism and coaching style. Walle was able to capture aerial drone footage of me surfing and we'd review the footage in the hotel room on the big screen. Walle and Andy then provided micro-adjustments suggestions to my surfing and they have since carried my skillset miles! If you are looking to better your surfing at a high level and enjoy a relaxed paradise vibe and fresh food then this trip is for you.
