However, the front office staff and office policies have not been a good experience. I recently moved out of state and attempted to access my records via the patient portal and could not access them. Per an email request, I received a phone call saying I could complete a form for my new physician (I've already done this) and if I wanted my records I could PAY A FEE for them to be provided via CD. I have two overwhelming concerns: 1) I and/or my insurance company have paid through the nose for medical care for the past 8 years; and 2) who uses CDs anymore-- new computers don't come with a CD drive! What century are you in? Everything is cloud-based now and precisely why I should be able to access my records via the portal. As an example, I can access my Emory and Mayo Clinic records today (some are over 2 decades old and others over a decade old). This is a terrible business practice and nothing but a MONEY MAKER for this practice. I'm hugely disappointed in this nonsensical practice. And, I would also be concerned about a medical office SNAIL MAILING private, medical records. Isn't this a HIPAA privacy concern?

In January 2025 I made an appointment for the earliest new patient appointment, which was in June 2025. I decided to wait for the appointment because I really appreciated the philosophy found on the website and definitely liked the glowing reviews. I had positive interactions with all staff I encountered and the clinic was clean and bright. The provider I met with suspected a new problem/diagnosis and so started a work up with labs and imaging. Clinic staff did follow up with me once labs resulted out and referred me to a specialist. The ordered imaging was performed ~2 weeks after my new patient appt but I never received follow up, from the NP or anyone else at Ponce Primary Care re: the imaging results. It has now been ~3 months since my last communication, specific to my care, with anyone in this office. I decided to reach out to discuss the standard of care, which I felt to be lacking. Dr. Chad Costley did return my call within an hour or so and he did verbalize disappointment with my situation. He assured me that my experience is unfortunately the exception to their typical patient experience. I was informed that the NP I had been assigned to was "only part-time and here less than a month". I did not ever receive any communication from Ponce Primary Care to notify me that my assigned provider was departing or to invite me to call to schedule with another provider for seamless continuity of care. I was told that my imaging results were never sent by the imaging facility I went to and that "this is where the wheels came off". That is absolutely possible but it was also not confirmed to be true at the time of the statement. The report not being in the patient chart does not mean it was never received by the ordering office or sent to the ordering provider. Sometimes things get scanned and assigned incorrectly, or not scanned at all. Lots of possibilities there. To me, that shows a lack of accountability for not holding a supervisory review of a departing provider's caseload/EMR task list and it also fails to consider that an out-of-state fax number associated with the ordering provider could be the problem. I waited 6 months for a new patient appointment and, whatever the circumstances, was lost in the shuffle. I will not be continuing with this practice, although I'm sure they have many satisfied patients as evidenced by their overall rating. My advice if you wish to establish/continue care here: Be able to advocate for yourself and for your own healthcare. Be knowledgeable about when to follow up on your care in case the practice doesn't. If the wait is still 6 months out for a new patient appointment when you try to schedule, do not think an extra special or VIP experience awaits you - realize that they just might be too busy to accept new patients.

I am not sure why, but I presume it's because they worked her fingers to the bone, as she was very good with patients and always booked because people loved her. Her workload was huge and, I am sure, overwhelming. Now that she is gone, they have basically kicked her patients to the curb. Just called for a prescription refill and they said you are no longer a patient because we are not seeing her patients! WTF?? So lame. I cannot attest to their worth as doctors but this seems vengeful and sour grapes. Seems there's a better way to resolve your business disputes than taking it out on patients.

He took 1.5 hours to perform a complete examination, listened to past problems, made some referrals and suggested she have some procedures done. I was very pleased by his ability to listen and understand my mom, who suffers from mental illness. I only had to interject a couple of times! He seemed genuinely interested in understanding and healing her many health issues. He was also extremely knowledgeable about prescription medicine, even some of her psychotropic medications! Upon leaving both my mom and I felt utterly relieved to have found such a great doctor. HIGHLY recommended for internal medicine.

I heard about Dr. Owen at Whole Family Medicine from a coworker who had been through the same ordeal as I. She said Dr. Owen was the one who pinpointed the issue and set her onto a road of recovery. With some hope that I scraped from the bottom of the barrel, in regards to doctors, I went to see Dr. Owen. I wept on the sofa in her office and laid it all out there. She took a deep breath and began that day to set me on my road to recovery! I'm feeling better every day under her care. She understands my apprehensions with western medicine and works around that. She finds the treatments that I am comfortable doing. She has a very optimistic attitude and a matter of fact way about her that makes me feel safe. But... personality aside (I've had several personality plus doctors who had no clue about healing people) Dr. Owen KNOWS HER STUFF! And...if she doesn't know something she will figure it out. She is open to all sorts of treatments and doesn't judge or cringe when a patient brings in their own idea of treatment. Like she said the first time I met her, " If the crud on the bottom of a pond heals you and makes you feel better, then take the crud off the bottom of the pond!!! I don't need to know how it works but that it works!" She doesn't judge her patients. She actually has compassion for them and is curious about these treatments we want to try. I know. I'm one of them. There is a difference between a doctor who practices medicine and a doctor who practices healing. She is the latter. I'm thankful every day for this woman.

I kept calling trying to schedule an appointment because another doctor recommended Dr. Welch, and said she does great work. I called today to try to schedule a new patient in October because that's when she starts taking new appointments. They were no help. They said I had to call back in October to set up an appointment. If you know you'll start taking appointments in October, why in the hell can't I book an appointment today? Dr. Welch may be a great physician, but her staff is trash.

Wait time is ALWAYS ridiculous. They rarely return phone calls. Physician: Dr. Waters no longer sees my family member, she passed my family member off to a Nurse Practitioner, the NP is professional and friendly and so far I haven't had any issues with her care, but she isn't a MD. Office: Office is not too small and nothing special. The last time I went inside the television was off? I'm not sure if they had enough money to purchase Netflix, Hulu or Cable? Parking: Parking area is sufficient, but the office has moved into an area that is not as nice as her previous office. Additional: Dr. Water's office nickels and dimes the patients now. I'm not sure if it's because she's hurting financially (see TV comment above) or what the reason is, but my family member went to a scheduled appointment and asked them to fill out a form for work; they wanted to charge an extra $25 fee to fill out a paper for her job. That should be part of the office visit. I consider that unacceptable and very poor customer service. This medical office has gone from being one of the best in Atlanta to being just like all the others, not very good. Summary: Overall, because it's almost impossible to get anyone on the phone or get return phone calls, because they want to nickel and dime you for every single thing and because they have to send patients out for many things now, I would definitely not suggest Dr. Waters anymore. Perhaps if she addresses these problems and returns to the way she did business before I would change my review, but as of now I can't recommend her to anyone. Pros: 1. Parking is never an issue Cons: 1. Very difficult to reach anyone by phone. 2. Nickel and dimes patients now 3. No longer able to do lab work at office because LabCorp will not send Phlebotomists to office d/t Covid and office staff very inexperienced with drawing blood. (Costing MORE for the patient) 4. Let me just say thank God they didn't have the "you-can't-see-a- different-physician-in-our-practice" policy like another medical practice I used to go to. Both Dr Moore-Waters and Dr. D'Souza are great doctors, hands down!! Absolutely no complaints there. Very thorough, friendly and very informative. It's hard to find great physicians like them these days. Now here comes the minor negative.....and I really mean minor negative.... No x-ray facility so if you needed a chest or spinal x-ray, you'd have to trek to Dekalb Medical Center. The clerical staff seemed absent minded at times. I'd call to ask a question and get transferred around sometimes. It wasn't a constant thing but it certainly happened here and there and was frustrating. Now here is why I've taken a one star deduction. I called to make an appointment last month and not only was I informed Dr. D'Souza was no longer with the practice but I was also informed the practice had moved to Tucker, GA. I was shocked because I wasn't notified about any of this and really felt left out in the cold. At this point I feel like I'm at a crossroads. Tucker is not terribly far but I feel like the carpet has been pulled out from under me. I have more questions than answers and I'm not sure what has happened because Dr. Moore-Waters hadn't been at that particular location very long. For years she was next door to Ace Hardware on Scott Blvd but none the less, she's been in Decatur for years. I was totally confused! I wasn't a walk in , she just told me that my appointment was cancelled by the office in error!?! when i continued to question her she told me that she wasn't going to argue with me. She was clearly confrontational when i walked in the door! so she tells me that i need to wait for the receptionist to come back from break. so my son and i wait. the receptionist was very pleasant and we were escorted to the exam room, then i hear the head nurse Yevette talking about me and my son saying that she didn't want anyone in her face and asked her co worker what was we there for and we need to go. She then comes in the room minutes later slammed the door behind her and only addressed my son about why he was there . The employee was very unprofessional and should not be in a position to deal with patients. if she does not want to work let someone else do the job who will appreciate it . i'm positive that this is not the only complaint that she has received.

We've had to bring my mother here twice over the past 3 months for respiratory illnesses. I…read morepersonally wasn't too familiar with the "Urgent Care" process but was pleasantly surprised by the professionalism, and politeness of the staff. On both occasions, the whole ordeal of triage, swabs/testing, X-rays, doctor consultation and prescriptions took slightly less than 3 hours. Which might seem long to some people but we also spent 9 hours in the ER of a major hospital on Christmas Eve and never got seen! So this place gets my vote. Also there is free parking out front and you're not navigating a massive and costly parking deck while sick. I really can't think of any negatives, they didn't even bombard us (or anyone for that matter) with paperwork. TLDR: This place is a godsend when you're in a pinch. Dr. Sydney was outstanding.

No one showed up. I unloaded my mother with her walker. We had been told we could get a wheel from the valet. No valet, no wheelchair. I had to leave her there to go park the car. When I returned there was still no valet. The previous time we were at this facility we waited 15 minutes to valet the car and longer for it to be returned.
