I now use this location for my alterations rather than going down to the Willowbrook mall. Very friendly

Went here to get some simple alterations done on a vintage wedding dress I bought. The lady took…read moreone look at it and told me it would be expensive and started saying what she'd need to do before I even told her what I wanted done. I said do you want to see it on me so I can show you what I'd like brought in. She shrugged her shoulders and said yeah. I couldn't be bothered with her lack of interest. I did not feel comfortable leaving the dress I planned to get married in with a lady who seems to not care at all about my business. I said okay well I'll just go see what my other options are out there. She said okay and walked away. Really?!

This place is a surprisingly busy little shop way out in Langley (I live in East Van), but it came…read morehighly recommended. I have got to say, Van is a very skilled, competent tailor. She has had the store since 1993, & has over 30 years of experience. I had to be picky for a reason. She was entrusted with the difficult task of altering my wedding dresses! My traditional white dress needed a bunch of work done to it. Some of it was standard stuff - it needed a bustle, & needed to be hemmed. However, my dress was poufy & had a few layers of silk & tulle, which made it a bit trickier than the standard slinky dress. Then she had to take in the bust...but my dress didn't have a seam down the sides & was covered in lace. Van had to create a seam, cover it back up with the lace, and make it look like nothing had ever happened there. She also had to create a sweetheart neckline. Did i mention that it was also low backed? Easier or more difficult? Am I the nightmare customer everyone dreads having? Why yes, yes I am! My other dress, which was a form fitting, open backed, neck high, red lace cheongsam-inspired fishtail beauty, also needed a complete overhaul! I ordered it online, from China, and I gave the sellers all the correct measurements, but when I received it, nothing fit right! I had to have 1 of 2 inner linings taken out, neckline of the lining lowered, waist taken in, upper chest part shortened (which meant taking out the mandarin collar, adjusting the lace, & putting the collar back on), sleeves taken in & open back material adjusted so it sat right. Anyway, she pretty much made it into a new dress! I can't believe she did such a great job with my dresses and in a reasonable time, too...and both my maid of honour & bridesmaid got their dresses altered with her too! All the guests loved the outfits. I owe it all to her for making them fit. If I ever have to get a fancy gala ball gown for the Oscars altered, I know where to go. Other services: -Prom dress season alterations! You think a wedding dress is hard? Look at these monstrous grad dresses with beads, pleats, ruffles, sequins, metallic fabrics, bright colours with nowhere to hide flaws! These things can be extreme! -Van also sells handmade cheongsam & traditional Vietnamese clothes for guys, gals & kids, with silk fabrics straight from China & Vietnam. Amazing work. -All the regular kinds of alterations are done here too - pants/jeans hemmed, suits, dress shirts, leather, whatever it is, she can do it! Open 6 days a week! Sundays closed. Gotta take a break some time.

Stitch It Clothing Alterations - Back seams were completely shut as these were BRAND NEW and were ripped open upon receiving them.

I dropped off a pair of pants to be altered, I was fitted & pinned left and said it would be ready in one week. Saturday came and I went in to get my alterations and I could see my pants still sitting on a hanger with pins in it--they were not touched! She gives me a lame excuse and says she had trouble knowing where to cut the fabric????!!! What? Then proceeded to ASK me where she should cut it? I was flabbergasted! I told her, " you are the expert"! How was I supposed to know where she should make the stitch?! She said okay you can come back at 5 and try them on again for a 3rd time and then she will confirm where to cut it. This is after I just let her pin it again, on my body! My slacks are brand new with the tags still on the garment. I was so confused and disappointed I had to walk away and calm down.In the end I returned and hour later and got a refund. What a joke experience! One thing I really can't tolerate is having my time wasted. If they couldn't do it they should have just said so. Plus there is a little bit of a language barrier which adds a layer of comprehension issues. This place is not professional at all. Better to go elsewhere.

AVOID THIS LOCATION UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR CLOTHES STOLEN AND WORN…read more UPDATE: To be clear the pants were STOLEN and WORN. Disgusting that this company is still denying the truth despite the evidence. As mentioned in my review, our family was OUT OF COUNTRY from March 27th - April 1 (I have attached my plane tickets for proof). So my family and I were NOT there to pick it up between those dates. Additionally, Stitch It opens at 10AM from Mon-Sat. The invoice transaction history you sent me says that my pants were checked out on March 28th at 9:55AM. So 1: I was not present in Canada that day. 2: These were checked out by an employee before the store had even opened. 3: As mentioned in my review, I picked up only the pair of jeans on the 26th after receiving a text that it was ready on the 25th. Seems like the worker hid this pick up date on the transaction history. 4: Over the phone FARHANA advised me that someone came and picked them up on the 29th and the 30th (These dates are not on the transaction history and also I was not in the country as I returned on April 1st) It's clear that these pants were stolen and worn as these shady workers have decided to lie about the dates and the BRAND NEW PANTS had its BACK POCKET SEAMS RIPPED OPEN, TAGS GONE, AND PET HAIR ATTACHED ALL OVER WHEN I HAVE NO PETS. On March 26th at around 2pm-3pm we went to Stitch It in Willowbrook mall to pick up THREE pairs of pants: 1 pair of jeans and 2 pairs of dress pants. When we arrived they only hemmed the pair of jeans and not the two dress pants. They told us to wait 20 minutes for the dress pants but we told them we had to leave for work so we cannot pick it up till later. They told us to come a week later so we only bring the pair of jeans and not the two dress pants. On April 3rd we go back to the store as we are now home after our trip outside the country. We go to the store and they tell us that they do not have the pants. We tell them that no one checked it out but they continue to pressure us and say that someone in our family probably checked them out (they are unaware we were not in the country during that period of time so no one in our family could check it out). I call them again this morning and then they tell me something completely new. They tell me that someone checked out our pants on Friday, March 29th and Saturday, March 30th. Please keep in mind that our entire family OUT OF COUNTRY from March 27th - April 1. No one in our family could have checked those out. They refuse to tell me the workers who worked on those days and they refuse to check their security cameras and continue to tell me to wait a couple days. This is absolutely unacceptable and it's very apparent and clear that these two dress pants (which were both nearly $200 each) were stolen by these workers. Only when we filed a complaint to BBB, we immediately received a call back from them saying they found my pants. KEEP IN MIND THESE PANTS ARE BRAND NEW AND THE NAVY DRESS PANTS HAD TAGS. When I get there I see that that navy dress pants had NO TAGS, WRINKLED INNER WAIST BAND, RIPPED BACK POCKET SEAMS, and PET HAIR (I do not have any pets). Clearly these were WORN because when I dropped them off they came straight from the store after I bought them and I did NOT wear/try them on in store either. This is a disgusting and unethical franchise location and I am yet to receive any help or answers as to where my clothing is. I have paid the full cost for the hemming for ALL THREE PANTS and now my BRAND NEW pant is completely ruined and the manager FARHANA refuses to help out but only deny everything that has happened. Instead of answering my questions she didn't listen and instead talked over me the entire time saying that they can steam and tailor everything back to it's original condition when that ISN'T THE ISSUE. The issue is that these BRAND NEW pants were clearly stolen and worn until confronted by BBB and they refuse to do anything about the DAMAGE they caused to my pant.

My hubby and I don't even mind driving out to Langley because Michelle is that good. Her prices are reasonable and she always gets our clothes to us in good time. My husband and I are very different body shapes and she has been able to fit our clothes beautifully so I reccomend her services for petite and plus sizes. We have had a zipper put in a leather jacket, a suit jacket tailored, a dress with a crinoline net hemmed, jeans made into capri pants and other projects come back in a really pleasing way. That is why I feel good about putting forth this business for other's to use.

It only took her a week to do my alterations and I picked up my dress today and it was amazingly done ! I honestly couldn't be happier and to think it only took a week in comparison to the 30 days I was quoted by the place of purchase. The price was affordable and the dress looks flawless! I'm so incredibly pleased and happy with the services I received from And Sew On. She really knows her trade and I would more than highly recommend her to everyone I talk too !!!!
