We have a house on Lake Hartwell and I drive past Dressing Dreams whenever I drive through town. I've always admired how they always have a color scheme on what is showcased in the windows. And the displays are always beautiful. But frankly, I always wondered how in the world Hartwell could support a wedding/ formal dress shop. Well, now I know. My daughter is getting married and I suggested we come here while we were at our Lakehouse so she could get an idea of what style dress she wanted. Our daughter lives in Indianapolis and this was going to be our first chance to go dress shopping. Since we live in the Atlanta area, I really thought we would end up buying her dress at one of the many bridal stores there. My daughter reached out to the store early in the week and they explained you get an appointment time and there is a $25 fee but that amount is applied to your dress purchase, if you buy a dress. They told her since it was her first time trying on wedding dresses it would probably take around 2 hours. They were very quick with their responses and she said they were super nice. She was also told she could bring up to five people with her. When we walked in the door I was in awe. The place is huge and beautiful. We were quickly introduced to Lauren, who would be helping us. She was truly amazing. She led us back to our area and got us seated and we were offered water or mimosas to drink. Then Lauren talked to my daughter and got an idea of what style she thought she might like. Lauren then invited my daughter and one other person to go with her and pick out dresses to try on. (Upon asking her, Lauren said people come from hours away to buy their wedding and other formal dresses here. They had an entire middle section of the store where young ladies seemed to be trying on prom dresses. I think I heard they also sell pageant dresses and mother of the bride dresses. The set up with seating for family or friends is the same for the pageant/other formal dresses. After being here I am not surprised people travel to come here.) They came back with five dresses and a few different styles to see what style she really liked. All in all, she tried on 14 dresses. During this time we were offered warm chocolate chip cookies twice. Such a nice touch. We were in an area at the back of the store that had four different seating areas to accommodate four different groups. You had two couches, a side table and a platform for the bride to stand on with large mirrors around her. Lauren helped my daughter put on each dress and put the clamps on to give her a better idea how it would fit since she is tiny and the dresses were larger than she would wear. Lauren was so patient and kind and helpful. I can't say enough great things about her and our entire experience. My daughter narrowed it down to her two favorite dresses and Lauren helped her try each on again. She then also got some veils out for Samantha to try with the dress. But never did we feel pressured. In the end, my daughter found "the dress". (But don't worry, none of my attached pictures are of the dress she picked.) I asked my daughter if she wanted to look in Atlanta and she felt strongly that it wasn't necessary. So what I thought would just be a trip to figure out what style she might like best turned out to be the only place we needed to go. Half of the dress has to be paid for when you order it. We ordered it April 2 and were told it should be in sometime in early July. It will need to be paid off by the time it is picked up. They will steam the dress three times for you but they don't do any alterations in house. Lauren told us they do have a sheet they can give you with tailors they recommend to do alterations. Dressing Dreams was amazing. It was a very special day helping my daughter pick out a dress that made her feel beautiful. Well done. Dressing Dreams is a wonderful place that works seamlessly to make each person there feel special.

I said yes to the dress at Dressing Dreams in Hartwell!

Bethany was more than a 5 star. She made me feel so welcomed and pleased with the time that I had trying on wedding dresses. I would not have changed anything, she was perfect! Thank you so much!!!!!! You were so enjoyable and helpful!

Brand new to the pageant industry, I saw an Ashley Lauren trunk show that was going to be here and called. I was warmly greeted by Dalton who is my knight in shining armor!!! He arranged a time to meet with the designer and talked me through each thing needed and was always making me feel so comfortable. We went in person to the store, beautiful, amazing atmosphere!!! Dalton treated my daughter like a queen, Val and my daughter instantly clicked and truly helped her get dressed and made her comfortable and at ease!! Tonya the owner and her husband were so genuine! Y'all, I feel like we now have a family AND they were always mindful of price, quality, and making sure we were satisfied. Mimosa's, chocolate cookies, and gorgeous dresses, shoes, earrings and other accessories, you cannot go wrong!!

In October 2021 my wife and daughter visited Dressing Dreams to purchase a dress for the T. L. Hanna Cotillion. They purchased a beautiful dress for just over $700. The dress fit perfectly with the exception of the hem length which we had altered. No other alterations were needed. The evening of the Cotillion the dress literally started to fall apart, needless to say, our daughter was heartbroken. Especially as the rhinestone piping continued to fail yet she still had to be presented in front of hundreds of parents and students. She was extremely embarrassed and mom was furious. I contacted Tonya at Dressing Dreams (DD) on December 21, 2021, to discuss. Tonya assured me that DD would resolve this situation. I also emailed Tonya the same photos that are attached to this review. I finally received an email from Tonya at DD on January 4, 2022, stating that she had contacted the company that produced the dress, Johnathan Kayne. I replied to Tonya's email the same day thanking her for the follow up. On January 12, 2022, I followed up via email with Tonya. As of January 28, 2022, I have not received an email or phone call regarding the $700+ dress that is basically useless at this point. While the pre-purchase customer service at Dressing Dreams was excellent, they wanted our money. The post-purchase customer service has been terrible. Obviously, Tonya thinks that this will simply "go away". It will not, this has been a bad experience on so many levels at this point. A portion of this dress was paid for by her grandmother via American Express, after not hearing from Tonya at DD, we have challenged the $500 AMEX charge. However, my wife used our debit card and those funds are unrecoverable. Lesson learned, money lost. The worst part about the entire situation was the disappointment and embarrassment that our beautiful daughter suffered because Dressing Dreams sold an inferior product and obviously does not stand behind the dresses they sell. So, at this point, the dress hangs in the closet, taking up space because it is simply unusable and we certainly could not sell it. Thank you Dressing Dreams for a wonderful experience.

My shoe separated top flap from bottom flap in the airport as we were flying out on vacation. On our second stop of our 4-stop vacation we found this shop through Yelp and very pleased that we did. Yelp is such an invaluable resource! The repair was done in an excellent fashion. Very pleased! The owner was very pleasant to deal with. I just hope everyone can see what a service this shop is to the community. The skills and breadth of experience with repairs they bring are nearly impossible to find. This shop is a gem!

I took it in to be tailored as it was a bit over sized. When told that wasn't something he wanted to tackle.. I asked to have a zipper installed as I am a disabled vet and had problems with the original snaps... long story short he removed my snaps (The zipper was behind so no need) installed fake "Rivets" and didn't even seat/secure them with a tool..just pushed them in "Plugged" the hole with them. Well I lost two of them the first night I wore it. I found them on the floor. I ordered a tool to see if I could seat them, but I bought cheap wrong dies that wouldn't work. The second night worn, the zipper tore loose from the hand stitch. All in all this was beyond a shoddy rushed job that I waited over a month for. I paid $200 for the coat and $150 for this "Work". I didn't take it back and complain, I figured this is the work they do and didn't want to wait weeks again to wear a football jacket when the season is about over. I know how to sew (Thanks grandma) so I will take the $150 loss and just do all the work all over myself. So maybe I got a bad day job, I don't know...but I am throwing this out there to all. If it happened to me with my prize item..I would think hard about giving them your item. I am adding pictures of rivet heads, holes in jacket and zipper and stitching.

We bought my husband a suit for a formal wedding at Barry's. The price was ok. We were under the…read moreimpression that the alterations being done to the suit were going to be professionally done. The sleeves of the coat were too long, the pants were nearly 14 incges too big, the butt was HUGE, the legs were at least 20inches too long. Mind you my husband is not a small man at 6'1'' with a large barrel chest and very long arms but he has not butt and average size legs for a big guy. When we came 8 days later to have him try on his altered suit and pick it up, it was very clear the alterations were not correct. He tried on the suit and we attempted to show them all the issues and new ones. Including the now much tighter fitting coat in the chest. They got squirrely with their answers and we got told to take it to their Alterations person to be fixed, at our cost, since they had done the original alterations to the suit. I was not ok with what felt like a bait and switch. We took the suit to our local trusted Alterations person, who has been in business for 40+years. My husband tried on the suit for her and she shook her head. It was very clear that the suit we had purchase had fit him correctly across the chest now did not allow him to cross his arms and the sleeve still was too long. The suit coat had been some how altered and was entirely too tight now. She even opened up an internal arm seam and found the error in the shortening of the arm. It was VERY clear the arm had been shortened via the arm pit and was not even cut evenly. She also had to take in the waist of the pants, shorten them, and remove many many inches in the legs and butt of the suit pants as they looked as if my husband was carrying a tent behind them they were so large. She told us there was unfortunately nothing she could do to the suit coat since they had not left hardly even a ¹/ inch seam allowance, but to go back to Barry's and get a new coat. I came in to Barry's to see about swaping the coat for the correct unaltered size. I was told that my Alterations person didnt know what they were talking about! That the suit had fit my husband at pick up and there was no way they could have had the chest altered. They insisted on keeping the coat. They told me that my husband HAD to be there to try it on for them, even though we had tried to show them the error at pick up. They even told me I was wrong about my husband's complaint it was too tight at pick up, that he had said it was fine. They had too see if it was actually an issue on him for themselves. But that there wasn't a way it didnt fit him right. So now we only have the pants. Im having to try to get him to leave work early to come get re-fitted in the missed up coat. Oh and did I mention we have less than a week now befor the the wedding to have this fixed!
