It's an unofficial local nexus for Fence Records, the small indie label started by a friend of mine over a decade ago, and chances are if you pop in here on a Friday afternoon you might just run into someone you know. Over the years the Ship has seen its share of music, and like any local pub worth anything it has a healthy cast of regulars who'll you'll find propping up a bar stool everyday. The nautical theme is par for the course in this seaside village, but there are loads of really neat historical shots framed and hanging on the walls that are worth checking out if you're ever in there. On the second visit, i had sea bream which came with a side of chips, salad, tartare sauce and peas. The fish was nicely grilled and the chips were average but the sauce, peas and salad wasn't really singing to me. By looking at this and reading the whole thing back to myself, it's now giving me the thought of maybe not going back as the place just isn't blowing trumpets for me. For yourselves, give it a try. The hotel only has two rooms, a small bar, and two separate dining areas, with a beer garden outside. On our four day stay in one of the rented nearby cottages we where literally two minutes walk to the bar from the house, with three of the days we ended up here on most days at lunch time till close. Food is served at lunch times and the evenings and also we ate here three days out of four, and the food was pretty good serving the likes of Fish & chips, macaroni cheese and burgers to name a few. The bar area is small, and choice was limited, but I think this was due to the location, and locals didn't seem to go out drinking. Overall we had a great time here, and would recommend The Inn at Kingsbarns to anyone that was passing through or staying nearby.

Drivers know that it is a common event space so they know how to get there, as it's kinda out there. Wedding venue - stunning. The atmosphere, backdrop, and like everything honestly was really stunning. Historic chapel is about a 10-15 min walk down the road and was a beautiful setting for an intimate wedding. Reception and other events were held in the castles common spaces and well executed by the castle team. Food, overall, was solid. There were some dishes that were much better than others, and only a couple dishes that were just okay. However, the team is very friendly and accomodating, and essentially advised us to treat the castle like out own home. Grounds also featured a few activities like scotch tasting and clay shooting, which were fun to partake in and unique to have available. Lodging venue - really nice venue overall for lodging. Castle is split into main building as well as east and west wings. There are countless bedrooms so you can definitely fit a bunch of people inside. Our room was west wing at the top. Very large with a comfortable bed and full closet to hang things up. We peaked at other rooms and they all varied - some were small, others medium.
