Marina helped me plan my wedding from the US, and was nothing short of amazing! It's pretty scary to have never seen your venue or met your photographer prior to your wedding, but every vendor that Marina recommended to us, from the photographer, hair & makeup artist, florist, and caterer to the venue were incredibly high quality. Marina was incredibly patient with my many questions and specific requests. Our wedding was at a chateau about an hour outside of Paris. The day of the wedding, there was pouring rain all day. Marina was able to adapt and move everything inside the chateau, and it turned out beautifully. My hair ended up getting ruined from the rain when taking photos outside before the ceremony, and I was incredibly upset. Marina sprung into action, was able to find a small hair salon 10 minutes for the chateau and quickly drove me over to have my hair redone before the ceremony. I would have been so disappointed had my hair have looked bad for the entire wedding, and Marina's ability to quickly come up with a solution to the problem saved my wedding day. I'm so glad we hired Marina as our wedding planner. That was the best investment we made for our wedding. Organizing our destination wedding was no easy task because I had never been to Paris and had no clear vision of my wedding. Marina guided us through each step of the process, helped me to visualize the wedding, listened and accommodated our requests. My heart overfloweth when thinking about my wedding in Paris! Marina created our magical dream elopement. Her knowledge of Paris is exactly what we needed. She is so professional, but has this personal touch and incredibly kind heart. Her response time was everything needed to feel assured when one is planning a wedding in France (from the US). Her recommendations were spot on, Annisa for hair and makeup- there is nobody else to even look for- she made me look like a queen! The flowers, stunning! Our 1954 Citreon driven by Patrick, was icing on the cake. He is the cutest and was the best chaffeur! Our wedding clothes had to survive a closet on the plane for 9 hrs and Michel at the pressing house did a phenomenal job making them perfect. If we could, we would give Marina 6 stars. Marina is the best wedding planner anyone could ask for. She helped us plan our elopement to Paris for August. However, 4 days before the wedding, my fiancé had a medical emergency and was in critical condition. The doctor asked us to immediately cancel our wedding and trip to Paris. To say the least, we were extremely crushed and anxious about the shocking news from the doctor's report and also that we had to cancel our wedding. Immediately at the hospital, I asked my sister to help me contact Marina to let her know of the situation. Marina was very understanding and kind to my sister. She immediately took control of the situation and reassured us that she would contact all the vendors that the wedding would need to be canceled and rescheduled for a later date. Marina was a great support to us during this difficult time. After my fiancé was stabilized and discharged from the hospital, Marina helped us find the most suitable date that would work for the vendors as well as our family's schedule. We contracted with Dreams in Paris a full year before our wedding, so I had plenty of time to really dream up the perfect Christmastime wedding day. Marina is a sweet and lovely lady, and I read amazing things about her - that's why we chose Dreams in Paris. But sorry to say we were disappointed about our elopement. First of all we only had email communications with her before the wedding and she had never thought of calling us once to talk with us. I had thought that even one phone call with her would make it feel more "real". We didn't get a rehearsal for the wedding ceremony so we both felt not ready. Also Marina didn't remind us that we need to write down our personal vows on paper to read from it at the ceremony, so we weren't prepared and panicked when she said she doesn't have our personal vows with her. But luckily she found our vows in the emails I sent to her phone or else we wouldn't be able to share our personal vows! :( Our biggest disappointment would be the personal vows not recorded properly in the video. In my initial inquiry about her service, I had asked her about my wish to include vows in the elopement video, and she assured me that the vows will be heard in the video. However when we got our video, there was no vows and it's just music playing through the whole video. I asked for the raw video footage, hoping that we can still listen to our personal vows even though it's not included in the clip. However to our major disappointment, the videographer didn't even record the whole ceremony! He stopped recording after we said I do, and the personal vows were lost forever. Plus we could hardly hear our voices in the broken videos. Marina replied saying that a technical equipment "micro.." (microphone I assume) is needed in order to integrate real sound. It has not been mentioned nor has been offered the option to add microphone!! We just assumed and trusted that Marina would take care of that little detail to make sure our special day was captured on video properly. But she failed to deliver - maybe too busy with other weddings in the summer and neglected our elopement that's in September. The photos were lovely, but some turned out just okay - partly due to our poor posing skills and partly due to some photos turning out a little blurry and not super sharp. When we asked why, the photographer said it's the "noise" from all the colors she added to the photos. When we asked for the original unedited photo, she hasn't responded since. It was hard to understand the photographer during the photoshoot coz she seems to know limited English. It was a super rainy and windy day too and when our driver drove us to the restaurant for our wedding dinner, the driver didn't even know where the correct entrance was to the restaurant! Marina also told us the restaurant would arrange taxi for us but the server just told us to catch a taxi across the street in the rain. It would be a much better experience if we had gotten a ride back to the hotel in the same vintage car we had for the wedding. The dinner ended up to be super super expensive because Marina booked a 3 course meal for us with wine and we thought that's the only option so we went with it. But later we saw other people ordering differently and we realize perhaps we could have went with A la Carte and would be easier on our bill. We couldn't finish the meal and I didn't even finish the glass of wine! We did get our photos and videos quickly. The video clip was done nicely but the only thing lacking is our vows, which is important to us. Considering how much money we spent (4200 Euro which is close to $6000 CAD) on this elopement, we expected something more (we had to pay extra too for a violist). We now wished that we had just taken pre-wedding photos in Paris and hold a simple local wedding to avoid all this chaos and disappointment! read more
