In 2020 I went with my sister to look at wedding dresses for her at Dreamers and Lovers in Venice and I was like oh my god... I WILL be getting my dress here one day. Fast forward 5 years, my now husband proposed and the first thing I did was schedule an appointment at Dreamers & Lovers in Torrance! I was helped by the designer Yanique, which was such a beautiful experience! Yanique is not only an incredible designer, but a kind, gentle, warm soul. My entire experience here was everything I imagined & dreamed that wedding dress shopping would be! The appointment felt so relaxed and personal. Yanique was not pushy at all and truly wanted to make sure I felt comfortable and found something that felt like me. Her dresses are even more stunning in person than online and the different laces are so beautiful and intricate and many of them are stretchy, which after trying them on, became a deal breaker for me. The designs are just so incredibly beautiful, unique, bohemian, relaxed, and as a professional tailor myself, I can say that the quality of the dresses are excellent. Alterations are also included in the price which is incredibly rare and their tailors work MAGIC! I almost didn't try on the Meredith dress because I was dead set on not wanting off the shoulder, but Yanique encouraged me to try it on and to my surprise it was PERFECT! My chest felt lifted and supported, my waist was snatched, the vertical seams elongated made my 5ft figure, and the tassel trim and train were to die for. The dress was so incredibly comfortable and surprisingly light, regal yet relaxed, vintage yet fresh, boho yet bridal. Looking back at the photos from that day, I can immediately tell by the look on my face that Meredith was the dress for me. About a month before my wedding, I came in to try on my dress but it was actually pretty loose throughout the body - my own fault as I was working out like crazy due to the stress of wedding planning lol - but I had full trust in Yanique & her team of tailors. A week later my dress was ready and I still can't believe how quickly they were able to alter the dress and how PERFECTLY the dress fit my body. My experience with Dreamers and Lovers was devastating. I was not treated with respect or any kind of customer care. I was not given the opportunity to try on dresses and take photos with my friends/family. My experience dealing with this business was frustrating, humiliating, and sad. I was treated like a nuisance and left their showroom in tears. No bride should be treated the way I was treated by the man who works there. I first chose Dreamers and Lovers for my dress in 2021. I met with Yanique who was lovely and sweet. I chose my custom dress, and gave a deposit for $1,382.00. Due to personal circumstances, I was not ready to come back in to proceed with having my dress made until the summer of 2024. I corresponded via e-mail in mid-2022 and again in early 2024 to let Yanique know that I wasn't ready for the dress yet, but that I still wanted it. I received responses from her saying that was fine and to reach out when I had a new date so we could take updated measurements. The nightmare started in August 2024 when I sent an email to Yanique saying I had set a new wedding date for May 2025 and was ready to proceed with having my dress made. I received an email back from someone named Vic stating that they had no record of my deposit or any notes from me since 2021. I forwarded him the email thread with all of the correspondence from 2021-2024 and the receipt for the deposit I made. I asked if I could make an appointment to come in and try on dresses with my future mother-in-law and was told no, because those appointments are only for "new brides". He told me that I could set up a Zoom appointment to take updated measurements of myself with someone from the Dreamers and Lovers staff. I was disappointed but said ok. Dreamers and Lovers then cancelled the Zoom meeting I scheduled for October 2024, saying it was too early to take measurements because my body might change closer to the wedding. This made sense, since the dress was to be custom-made. I reached out again in February 2025 to schedule my re-measure appointment and was told I could not come in for a normal try-on/measurement appointment OR do a Zoom meeting now. I had to come in person and only at specific times on a Tuesday or Thursday. I explained that I work during those hours but was told I had no other option- they would not accommodate me on any weekends. I ended up going in to Dreamers and Lovers on my lunch break, in my work clothes, for what I thought was going to be a quick re-measure. I work in construction and it was humiliating walking into a beautiful showroom in dirty boots and jeans with no makeup on- definitely not the experience a bride wants when trying on her dream dress. When I arrived there was no woman there to greet me or take my measurements. No music was playing in the background, no offer of a drink or a feeling of being welcomed. Only a silent, empty showroom and Vic, who told me to go in the dressing room and try on some of their standard size gowns. This was the first time I was told that my "custom" dress would actually not be custom. They would make it a standard size only. If I wanted it altered to fit me, the alterations would cost $799 and up. I attempted to try on the gowns but I had no one there to assist me with zipping them up. It was hard to tell if they fit right. I had to get back to work, and I was so frustrated not having any help I started crying and left the showroom. Vic offered me another appointment to come back but by then I decided I didn't want to deal with this treatment anymore. I ended up getting one of their sample sale gowns instead of the custom made dress I dreamed of. My sample sale gown is sitting in a bag at my house right now, and I still have no idea if it fits right or what it really looks like on. I didn't get the happy moment of saying yes to my dress with any of my loved ones around. I didn't get a photo of me in a beautiful showroom. I feel like Vic stole one of the happiest parts of a bride's wedding journey from me, all because he was annoyed that I waited "too long" to come in. At some point I'll have a friend come over when my fiancé isn't home and help me try on the dress I got and zip it up so I can see if it needs to go to a tailor. Instead of being happy about my wedding dress, I don't even want to look at it. Why couldn't Yanique, or ANY woman from Dreamers and Lovers, respond to my calls/emails? Why did Vic get to decide I wasn't worthy of the normal, happy experience that Dreamers and Lovers clearly offers other brides? Between May of 2024 and February of 2025, there was not one single weekend appointment available for me to come in? I don't believe that. I believe Vic was unhappy that he had to honor my deposit from 2021 and chose to treat me the way he did to discourage me from getting my dress there. No bride should be treated like this, ever. This was the best possible dress shopping experience. I came into the shop absolutely terrified- I'm not one to enjoy being the center of attention, and I don't even particularly like shopping for regular clothes. From the moment we came in, Yanique treated us with so much kindness. The shop is beautiful and private so I didn't feel like I was on display, and there were no pushy sales tactics, which helped me relax. One of the best parts about this store is that Yanique pulls dresses that are actually your size instead of pinning you into a random sample. The feeling of being pinned in (or alternatively, held together by rubber bands) when dress shopping always made me feel badly about my body, and also made it hard to imagine how I would look. Slipping into the dress and really feeling that it was the right one made all the difference. All of the dresses here are stunning and I liked every single one I tried on. I had a wonderful experience trying on dresses at Dreamers & Lovers. Yanique was amazing. She is attentive, soft spoken, kind, and personable. She focused on what I loved about each dress. After trying on a few I was torn between two dresses. She explained that they could customize the dresses and combine what I loved about each one. My mom and I were trying to envision the dress and which parts would come together. I know Yanique could see the vision, but she was so patient to explain it multiple times to us so we could understand. I loved that I was able to go into the fitting room and change dresses myself. Yanique was there to assist with buttons, zippers, and clamps. At a previous bridal shop I went to, the woman came in and was just go, go, go. I felt uncomfortable and rushed. This was not the not the case at Dreamers & Lovers. When I finally said yes to the dress Yanique brought out champagne for my mom and I and took our photos. The turn around time is about 2 1/2 months to have the dress made and altered, with no extra rush fee charge. That's the fastest turn around I've yet to see, especially as my dress is being customized. I wish I had read the website "about us" page before my appointment. It wasn't until I got home that I read it and felt a connection with their philosophy. And it wasn't until then that I realized Yanique is the owner & designer! She was so modest during our appointment. My mom and I left the shop and talked about the night and day experiences we had from the other place I visited. If you are looking for a traditional bridal shop or dress, there are other places that may better suit that experience. However, like her website says, "if you're a rule breaker, a dreamer, a lover who walks their own path"; this is the place to go. My dress was absolutely beautiful!! I could not imagine wearing any other dress. The fit was perfect and showed off my shoulders. The shop is beautiful and so are all their dresses. That being said...I was not offered a sign to take a picture with that said yes to the dress. I came in with an idea of a dress I wanted but when I tried it on it was not the right fit for me. If I had not have asked to see some other dresses the shop would have let me walk right out the door. I didn't know beverages were part of the experience my family and I were offered nothing. When I went for my first official fitting after the dress was made it was too tight. After the second alteration the dress fit better but the buttons were not aligned and the fabric was bunched under the lace. My friends noticed those concerns not the shop. But the shop immediately addressed them and fixed them. Each time you make an appointment you are charged 45 dollars and each time I had to ask to be refunded. I am still waiting for my last refund for an appointment. I never got a response from the shop so I had to dispute it with the credit card company. I did not find the owners to be that friendly especially when it came time to doing the measurements via virtual appointment. I asked to come in person for measurements and it was met with quit some pushback about coming in for the second time which was disappointing. However after I insisted I was able to come in person for a second measurement. The dresses are beautiful and you won't be disappointed if you get a dress here these are just concerns I have and future brides should look out for. read more

I first fell in love with Yanique's dresses while searching through gowns online. There was something about her style that spoke to me. I tried on soooo many gowns leading up to my appointment at Dreamers & Lovers, but none felt like me. I knew I would find my dress at her shop and I was right!! They're all so gorgeous and unique and comfortable!! But when I tried on Hayley, it was meant to be. And then there was the added bonus of having the dress designer there with me!! Yanique is incredible and smart and funny and kind. Her store is truly a reflection of her. Beautiful and effortless. No hassle. It was intimate and straight-forward and fun. I had my appointment the Saturday before everything shut down and it was such a comfort to know that her shop was local, the dress would be made mere miles away, and that Yanique was there for all of it. When I called unsure about the sleeves, she assured me that I could think it over and make the decision during the final fitting. When I decided I wanted a custom blush liner, she went downtown to the fabric district to find different options for me. I cannot express how thankful I am for her talent and caring and amazing customer service. I felt like I was trying on dresses with an old friend who just so happens to be cool as all get out. Wearing the dress on the day, I felt absolutely beautiful. EVERYONE loved it!! I've received compliment after compliment. The dress truly made our day. It is so special. It was feminine and whimsical (even while I dragged it through the dirt and stomped around in my tall lace-up combat boots). The photos are phenomenal!! It's all in the name!!! Dreamers and Lovers! When I got engaged, I knew for sure that I wanted a bohemian-style of dress. I Googled this, and it just happened that Dreamers and Lovers was located 7 miles away from my house! Obviously meant to be ;-) Once I saw the dresses online and on IG (@dreamersandlovers_), I knew this was where I would find the dress I would marry my best friend, in. The process was seamless... I went in (pre-COVID times) with my MOH after making an appointment online and having my top 3 choices ready upon my arrival, had a personal assistant help me, drank the champagne we brought, and found my dress within the hour! They took my measurements then and we paid for 1/2 the dress, then had an updated fitting 4 months from the scheduled wedding date (in case any weight fluctuations), and a final fitting one month before! The dress was made from scratch for me-- I was able to request more fabric added around the armpits so no pinching could occur, I added some fabulous push-up pads in there as I would be braless and wanted a little support, and I had the option of adding pockets to this particular style if I wanted! Yanique was amazing-- completely gifted at her craft-- and was more than happy to answer all my questions! She was kind, personable-- asking about details I had mentioned in previous interactions-- and created a STUNNING dress!!! I received so many compliments on it, as many said "it was totally me," and I deeply grateful that Yanique embraced her gifts to provide us non-traditional-dress brides something unique and better-suited for our style! And on top of it being beautiful, my dress was EXTREMELY comfortable to dance in all night, and I was able to eat and sit without it being too tight. I highly recommend Dreamers and Lovers to all Brides wanting that boho-ethereal vibe!!! I'm torn about this place. I saw the website and really liked the dresses so I made an appointment when I knew I'd be in Torrance already. I live in San Diego County. I had to put down a credit card deposit for the appointment, which I booked online according to a calendar showing availability, but it wasn't guaranteed unless I got a confirmation email. I didn't get a confirmation email, so I started emailing and calling. I also had a negative experience with the man who answers the phone. He didn't say who he was when he answered and I had to ask if this was Dreamers and Lovers. I asked him if my appointment is guaranteed since I already gave credit card info. He sounded annoyed and confused, but did confirm. However, I loved my experience in the actual studio shop. I was helped by Yanique directly and she was excellent! She was kind, attentive, and made conversation about my love story and wedding. I was looking for a dress that could be made with lining and would meet more conservative requirements for my religious ceremony, and she had experience with that, which put me at ease. I didn't have the same experience as some others with feeling "rushed." I felt like I had plenty of time and didn't notice the "hour limit." I was pretty focused on what I wanted so that helped. The staff that do the measurements and customization were very sweet, kind, and open minded about what I wanted. I was hoping to buy from here but two problems came up: 1) timeframe and 2) price. My engagement was relatively short, and I was worried the dress wouldn't be ready in time. They want around 5-6 months to make it. Also I think these dresses are so beautiful, but they are a bit overpriced. I've seen a lot of them on second-hand clothing apps and brides paid thousands only to get one that didn't fit that they couldn't return. These are priced more like dresses from well-known designers, but they are all designed in-house. I ended up buying a dress from Etsy that was much cheaper. You can find very similar stuff on Etsy for 1/3 the price or less. That's a risk too, of course though. If I had a lot of money, I probably would have risked it and bought mine here!! But I'm not rich and so had to go in another direction. I do wish Yanique all the best, as she seems like a great person who really cares! And yeah, Vic needs to stop answering calls LOL! read more

To say working with Yanique and the D+L team was an absolute DREAM would be a huge understatement. Yanique is an angel sent from the Wedding Heavens Above and makes you feel so seen and heard during all of the ranges of emotion one goes through during the process of not only picking out your dream dress but planning a wedding over all! My husband and I got married under very unique circumstances, I was so nervous I wasn't going to be able to get my dream Dreamers and Lovers dress The Genevieve in time for our wedding. I'll be honest, I wasn't into the whole wedding dress thing. I didn't like the idea of a big fluffy puffy dress, or a heavy, form-fitting bedazzled one - I wanted to DANCE at my wedding, and I wasn't interested in spending thousands and thousands of dollars. Then I came across the Aurora dress from Dreamers & Lovers on Pinterest - and I knew that was the one. I made an appointment at Dreamer's and Lovers studio, booked a trip to LA, and the rest is history. On my fitting day, there were some altering issues, but Yanique (owner and designer) was there overseeing the process and insisting on the perfect fit. She stayed late to make sure that happened so I could take my dress home with me that night. Alma was there for my initial appointment, as well as my fitting - she helped me get in and out of my dress a million times and was just so patient, kind, and accommodating while we were in the studio. I wish I knew every single seamstresses name that worked on my dress - there were so many helping, and they are all amazing. Such skilled masters of their work - I don't think there's anything they can't do! My only complaint about D&L is the lack of response from their team when I sent emails regarding updated measurements. It made me really nervous when I hadn't heard back in over a week, and felt this took away from their professionalism. Overall though, my experience was great. The reason I'm giving 2 stars is because I try to be a fair person and my dress was very beautiful. The whole experience was very frustrating for me because there is not multiple fittings. If you are wanting a fitted dress I would not recommend getting it from here. There is just one and it's the day you pick up your dress. I flew in from SF and was there for about 6 hours. I almost missed my flight home and had to find someone else to alter my dress and pay out of pocket for which was very disappointing. I bought my dress here because I wanted to support a locally made, female owned business, but the definite cherry on top is that all the Dreamers & Lovers dresses are beautiful, comfortable, and custom made for you! All their sewing is done here, so if you need/want something, its done right there in house. So no need for outside tailoring! No need to panic if something doesn't fit during the try on because the person who made your entire dress, is right there ready to fix it or add something for you. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Yanique and Dreamers & Lovers. Finding a wedding dress is really difficult, let alone one that feels like you and is in your price range. Yanique is so kind and patient, I never felt like I was being 'sold' a dress but really just speaking with a friend. She truly cares about the bride and how they feel. Pair that with making the dress to your own measurements and any alterations, it was an amazing experience from start to finish. My dress made me feel like a goddess and I cannot thank the team enough for that. Additionally, Yanique is a master at handling personalities. When I brought my mom (who has lots of opinions and is my polar opposite) to the fitting, Yanique made sure it was about me feeling confident and kept the focus there. First off I should start out by saying I went to a few places to try on wedding dresses before thankfully finding Dreamers & Lovers. One of the first places I went was Grace Loves Lace in Venice and was underwhelmed by the quality, and also didn't have the best customer service. Dreamers & Lovers was a breath of fresh air. The customer service from the owner Yanique as well as the whole team including the seamstress was really pleasant and refreshing. Also, I didn't even PICK my wedding dress; I had a few in mind and tried those, but the one I bought was actually recommended from the team and I was so surprised and in love. Thank you all so much for making my wedding day unbelievably special and beautiful. It was not how we originally planned (due to the pandemic) but my lovely dress made things that much better. I would 10/10 recommend to any future bride looking for that perfect dress. They were ALL so beautiful and tough to pick just one! read more

Edit : My wife called and a man said I don't know who you are and we're closed please email. As of now my wife is still waiting for a call back ! She ordered her dress in November , paid a deposit and they never called for her fitting . They are closed due to the virus but we never got called for an update or the fitting when our wedding was schedule for April . Virus or not we should have been called or updated . Although she knows what she's doing she does not allow her opinion to overshadow that of the bride. Our greeting started with glasses of chilled champagne topped off with a wide variety and top notch designer selection of wedding gowns. Thankful for an amazing experience. Every bride should begin at Dreamers and Lovers. The bar will be set high but you can rule out the rest like we have so or just go there and know you are in good hands. When you know you know......before visiting Dreamers and Lovers I had tried on over 25 dresses, visited multiple wedding dress boutiques and although the reaction I got from others was that's the one, oh it's perfect, deep down something was missing. When I first walked into Dreamers and Lovers, besides falling in love with their show room, my two friends and I were greeted by warm and friendly women whom after 5 minutes felt more like family. The conversation turned real and before we knew it we were talking about children and the many ways god challenges and blesses us in our lives. I had picked out a handful of dresses to try on, one being the one "the Valentina." Wow, I walked out looked in the mirror and felt this dress has all that I was looking for (lace, sleeves, open back). But, it was more then I expected because it was comfortable and lite weight and I felt this was a dress I wanted to wear and never take off. The process: They took my measurements and it was an awesome feeling to know my wedding dress was going to be made to me. When I came for my final fitting, again I was showered with the same love and care. The seamstresses were pinning my dress, I could feel they wanted me to be happy and they wanted my dress to fit like a glove. When I left with my dress, it felt like leaving and saying good bye to good friends not knowing when you'll see them again but looking forward to the day you do. Dreamers and Lovers thank you for an amazing experience, you have left an imprint on mine and mothers heart. I first stumbled upon Dreamers and Lovers from their Instagram and fell head over heels in love with all of their dresses. After doing some research and reading many reviews, I made an appointment for a dress fitting. Alma assisted me in finding the literal dress of my dreams! She was so helpful and so patient with me after I tried on several dresses until I decided on the ONE. When the day came for my final fitting, the shop requires you to make an appointment early enough in the afternoon so they can fit you, then make any last minute adjustments/changes to your dress. However, with my work schedule I could not get in early enough and the ladies stayed after close to make sure my dress was perfect!!! They made sure my dress was perfection and weren't trying to rush me out of the door. THANK YOU! The dress itself is absolutely stunning and beautifully made and at a very great price point as far as wedding dresses go! I got a million compliments the day of my wedding and even in the weeks after about my dress and how "unique" and "unlike any dress" they've seen before. I feel so lucky to have found Dreamers and Lovers! Their dresses are stunning and were exactly was I was searching for. I didn't want a traditional wedding dress so when I found their website I instantly was in love! It was really easy to set up the appointment to try on dresses. Yanique was so helpful throughout the appointment and gave great recommendations. I ended up having them make a few small changes to the neckline and sleeves to the style of dress that I choose. They made the dress to my size so when I went in for the final fitting it fit like a glove. It turned out perfect!! The day of the wedding the dress was so comfortable! Everyone raved about how amazing and stunning the dress was. I danced all night long and never once felt uncomfortable in the dress. I felt so honored to be able to wear one of Yanique creations. The dresses are unique and beautiful. However, my review is for the experience. I've been a bride as well as a bridesmaid multiple times, and been to a dozen bridal stores, and this place had very lousy service considering the gorgeous ambience. We were barely greeted, and the lady helping us showed zero excitement or interest in our bride. Our appointment was an hour long, which would have been perfect, but she disappeared into the back so many times that much of the time was wasted waiting for her to come back to move on to the next dress. We were pressured to wrap it up, so we did, taking notice that there were no other clients entering for an appointment. My friend didn't buy and went on to find her dress at another local shop--where she received more attentive and sweet service. This place really needs to step up the service because experiences are everything during the wedding season. Smile, ask questions, celebrate!!! A pretty dress isn't always enough. read more

Dresses look very nice on the hangers, and I wish I had had a better experience, but for some reason almost every dress I tried on was so tight I couldn't breathe. I normally wear a size 2 or 4 but had to try on size 6 in order to feel ok inside of them. They were incredibly tight in all the wrong places. The attendant would stick her hand down the back to emphasize "you have plenty of room! What are you talking about?!" So I was frustrated not knowing why I felt so trapped inside these dresses. She became noticeably frustrated as well. I have tried on other bridal dresses elsewhere and did not have this experience. Would have been nice to have at least one dress feel ok, because I loved the boho vibe and the prices were very fair. (Also. I got a strange email days after confirming my appointment that I MUST RECONFIRM my appointment or they "may be unable to see me"... Confirming is confirming. Why the need to reconfirm?) read more
