Bridal Elegance has a wide variety of dresses/dress styles, but somewhat "limited" in try-on dresses for plus sizes. Most dresses I tried on were too small for me (ended up purchasing my wedding dress in a size 24 bridal sizing, normally size 18) and had to be strapped on with clips. I didn't mind this, but it can be hard to envision a dress when it is simply much smaller especially in the bust area. That being said, my stylist was able to pull around 6 dresses he felt would fit my vibe and they totally did! I loved everything I tried on, and though the ones I did fall in love with were over budget they were BEAUTIFUL. They take great care of their samples, all dresses I tried on were in great condition. The consultants were all very sweet and made me feel comfortable and confident! The space was very clean and pretty. Went here (for my first ever dive into wedding dresses and a follow up to confirm some things about a particular dress) everyone was great and really helped me figure out what I like. Pricing is very fair and the dress quality is nice. The fabrics and finishes are nicer than a few other places I checked out. I will be back here when it's time to place an order (I started way early because I need custom sizing and truly did not know what I wanted in a dress) which now thanks to them I do. Isabel helped me out the first day and she was very patient and listened to all of my input and adjusted the appointment as we figured out what I like and don't like. Had the most wonderful experience here. All the women in the store were friendly, kind and extremely helpful. You don't really know what to expect as a first time bride, but the atmosphere was easy going and not pushy. Ultimately I found my dress here, but the style/color option I was interested in was not the same as the sample in store. Bridal Elegance went above and beyond and was able to get a loaner from the designer sent to the store, but had to wait a few weeks...I went to two other appointments in DTLA in the interim because we already had them booked, but these experiences were not as great as BE! BE has a wide selection of gowns, and I was really impressed with the quality for what I considered affordable prices. Everyone is friendly, down to earth and willing to work with your budget. I give 5 stars for the actual shopping and buying experience but 3 stars for the alterations experience. So 4 on average. Buying: all the associates I worked with were super nice and accommodating. They were respectful to my mother and friend plus listened to my feedback. This was my 7th or 9th store (can't remember) that I visited so I was already a bit burnt out from the process so I am VERY glad that I found the dress here. I did have them steam ($75) and hold the dress (as well as my veil - which I got from Amazon lol) once alterations were done as I don't have the closet space so that was nice. But yeah overall great experience. Alterations: Now this is where I am disappointed after the fact. On the wedding reddit, most brides say to NOT use the tailors at your bridal shop due to cost and quality unless they have great reviews. I scoured the reviews on here and saw Courtney given a ton of shoutouts so when I was assigned to her, I thought cool, we're set. We had 3 appointments: one for the general fitting, one for evaluating my custom puff sleeves plus the dress post alterations, and the last for seeing the final sleeves. Issue 1: On my actual wedding day, any time I walked in my dress, I felt like I was going to trip at any moment. I don't know if it was the style of the dress and the amount of layers in the skirt OR an alteration issue where it should have been made shorter but I felt uncomfortable. My guests on the other hand said I looked like I was gliding so a relief that I didn't look as uncomfortable as I felt but still - for the amount I paid, I should have felt as good as I looked. I assume most brides do not know what they're doing as they try on bridal dresses and get them altered (I sure didn't) so I wish Courtney/the BE team had provided a bit more guidance with this as now my biggest tip is WALK AROUND IN YOUR DRESS. Don't just stand there and let them shorten it with the pins and markers and such and call it a day. Fully walk around in it and see how it feels. When I go to my normal tailor they have me do that but I never did that here. Could I have remembered to do this myself? Sure but the whole wedding thing is so overwhelming so I would have appreciated this guidance from the team. Issue 2: We bustled my dress as it had a long train. Again trying on the bustle in the store, it worked perfectly. The problem is given issue one with the general styling / length of the skirt in my HEELS, I also switched to converses for the reception so the length became even more of an issue. I brought my flats to fittings btw but we never tried them on due to timing / reassurance that if the dress is the right length for the heels, it will be for the converses. Well it wasn't. I would have been better off with the wristlet-type bustle because that's what I ended up doing all night. I probably look goofy as hell in my photos and videos trying to dance while holding my drink AND my dress (while it was bustled). Oh and the bustle wouldn't stay, my coordinator had to readjust it multiple times even before the dancing portion started. Then I ended up just making a makeshift bustle tucking it into my hemline LOL. Similar to the walking in the dress advice, WEAR YOUR DANCING SHOES (if changing) AND ACTUALLY BUSTLE AND MOVE PURPOSEFULLY IN THE DRESS BEFORE FINALIZING. I would have loved more direction from Courtney and the BE team on this because, again, wedding planning is a whirlwind and not something we're used to (and let's be real, dress shopping sucks because you're the center of attention in a room full of strangers who have full of you, it's not a comfortable experience already) so having that guidance here would have probably saved a lot of trouble. General feedback as well was that Courtney was rudely dismissive of my mother who, although I didn't agree with the feedback she was giving, didn't need to be responded to in such a way. She treated my mother like a nuisance compared to the rest of the BE staff. Do I recommend this place for buying dresses? Absolutely, they have an awesome selection and helpful associates. But DO NOT get it altered here. Follow the advice of wedding reddit and go to your normal tailor or non-bridal store tailor. I am planning to alter my dress to shorten it into a knee-length dress or make into separates and I will not be returning here to do that. read more

Beautiful bridal store with lots of styles and designers. The consultants are all very helpful. Their text messaging response is also quick! The only, although HUGE, letdown is their alterations. Future brides- do yourself a favor and go elsewhere for alterations!!! I chose this store because 1) SO many dresses and all sizes 2) great bridal stylists 3) also have accessories! 4) I thought it would be easier to have alterations at the place I bought the gown, but it just wasn't a great experience. If it was for dress purchasing alone, I would give 5 stars! The rest of the review is solely regarding alterations: The alterations process actually left me speechless and lost. First, when you book alterations, there were 3 different days with different people. They did not have any look books of their prior work. Should have been flag #1 but since I loved the store so much for my purchasing experience, I gave it the benefit of my doubt. Flag #2 was my first alteration appointment where she could not pin my back symmetrically and actually didn't notice how crooked it was until my mom pointed it out (tg she was with me!). She blamed my body for not being symmetrical instead! I have a small chest and inevitably needed to adjust the cups/top. She could not pin it right but said she will use some padding and sewing technique and when I pick it up it will be ok. I could see a huge gap even standing upright and still. And my lace! She cut crookedly across the trim of my dress to shorten the hem. Said she was going to make it look better after....i held my breath and wanted to vomit. Honestly I should have walked out but again gave benefit of the doubt to the store and just didn't want to have a bridezilla moment. Also you pay the entire bill on checkout when you leave your dress. Flag #3- when I picked it up. Just so disappointed after $900. I was ready to and happy to pay it if it came out spot on. But---the busy still MAJORLY gapped- no amount of tape or hell superglue would work. Thankfully the back didn't look crooked if I stayed still, but as soon as I moved, the whole back moved to the side. No, my weight and dimensions didn't chance between appointments. I felt defeated. I didn't complain when I checked out I think bc I was so lost for words and overwhelmed and needed to process how bad it was. I knew I needed to alter it again probably but will not do it here. Thank goodness my wedding coordinator sent me to a place she and many of her brides use for alterations and things were fixed to perfection in the very last minute!!! read more

They have a great selection of dresses, but I really wish the girls and seamstress was more detail oriented. I just noticed my dress had this strap that could have been but on the tightest setting to prevent it from falling down. I am not sure why no one, not even my seamstress Margo did not point this out to me when I expressed my issues with the top of the dress feeling loose multiple times. My entire wedding day I had to keep readjusting my dress and pulling it up. I really wish I would have known about this strap in the back... it would have made a huge difference in my comfort in the dress. I absolutely loved Bridal Elegance and truly wish I lived closer so that I could have found the one here. There try on process is so seamless considering everything that's going on with Covid. They ask you to go through their Pinterest and pin the dresses you like that they already have in store. I don't think they have a limit on how many you can try on at a time because I think I tried ok 10 dresses haha. When we arrived we were greeted and she was assigned a "personal shopper" who pulled some dressed based on her taste and availability for her wedding coming up soon. If you don't mind reading a bit, this was my experience with both David's Bridal and BE: I've never been dress shopping before. I had never even thought I'd actually do it in general. I knew I was going to get married to my fiancé, it was just a matter of when. I honestly had the absolute perfect dress already picked out from Etsy from this store in the UK and I LOVE it. It was my dream dress. But the price for it atm with our financial situation is not ideal. I decided instead to make appointments at David's Bridal and another store in SoCal called Bridal Elegance. Then we all got together and had dinner and it was amazing. Anyways we go to David's on Monday. Again didn't know what to expect lol. I walked around and looked at a few dresses and my stylist told me to choose 5. I did that and was showed to the dressing area. One of the dresses she ended up not bringing out bc she didn't feel comfortable (her exact words), with having me try on a dress a few sizes too big and pinning me. I was sad since I really liked it but oh well I knew I had another appointment the next day somewhere else. I tried them on, she wasn't very attentive, kinda just stood there asking if I liked them. I did really love one of them that I tried on and the moment she noticed how much I enjoyed it she started pushing about "oh is this the one? Are you saying what I think you're saying? Are we saying yes to the dress??" And during the whole appointment we talked about wanting to wait to make a decision until we saw both places so we said we'd see and let her know the next day. She kinda made this face and it was noticeable that she knew we wouldn't be getting anything that day and finally left us to do our own thing. Tuesday we went to the boutique and the moment we walked in it was a completely different environment. We were greeted, sat, and introduced to our stylist. She sat with my sister, bestie, and I and asked what we liked. I told her a few things and she said okay and started pulling a bunch of different dresses. I can safely say I tried on like 15 different dresses, some multiple times, and never felt anything but patience from her. The first one I tried was a gorgeous black dress (I'll add at the bottom) and I fell in love. I've always wanted to wear a black wedding dress and and it was everything I knew I needed. Literally perfect and automatically in my top 2 while the very next dress I tried on (will also add picture), became tied with the black one. I just knew the moment I put both of them on it was one or the other. Skip 14-16 other dresses and I put the black one back on. We all talked about it, how it made me feel, the comfort, the price etc and I realized something...the black dress represented who I was in my past. My rough childhood, no control over myself, certain peoples influence in every aspect of my life and the choices I made. It was who I used to be but not anymore. Then we cried and talked about how the other one made me feel like the person I am now, who I've become, and who I've had to learn to love. She grew into a beautiful young woman that has her bright future ahead of her and she's ready to start this new chapter for her and not anyone else. That was the deciding factor. I said yes to THAT Dress because that is who I am now. Long story short I didn't realize how powerful and needed this experience would be for me. Before my appointment, they had me "pin" my favorite dresses to a Pinterest board from their massive selection online. Courtney pulled those exact dresses for me to try on, and then pulled dresses that were similar in style that she thought I might like. The dress I ended up going with was one of those dresses she pulled that wasn't even on my radar. Her eye for what would be the most flattering silhouette for my body shape, while fully understanding my personal style and wedding venue (beach wedding) all came together to bring me the most perfect dress...all within budget. A true miracle. THANK YOU COURTNEY! The two alteration fittings were quick and effortless. Courtney also did my alterations, which was nice to work with the same person through the entire process. She went above and beyond, fixing loose buttons and adding a new hook and loop to the top of the zipper at no additional cost. They were able to work with my super close wedding date (I had 2 months from dress shopping to wedding) and I STILL brought my dress home a month early! I had to buy off-the-rack because ordering would have taken too long, but this wasn't even an issue because they had so many floor samples available for immediate purchase. Bridal Elegance was a true game-changer during my bridal dress shopping experience! Before finding THE dress at this shop, I had already tried on about 50 dresses at various other bridal shops across Los Angeles and Orange County. They were all beautiful dresses, and a lot of them looked really beautiful on me. But I'm a pretty particular person, and I still wasn't getting that special feeling you get when you know it's the one. So when I went to Bridal Elegance with some of my bridesmaids, I was first so impressed by not only their lush decor and warm vibes, but also their amazing selection of really beautiful, unique and exquisite dresses to choose from, many that came in bigger sizes! As a curvier girl, I really appreciated this latter detail. The staff was so warm and friendly, and my party and I were given real champagne glasses to drink the champagne we brought. There was a wide selection of bridal accessories all around the store as well. As a future bride, it was bridal heaven! At one point during my appointment, Louise, the owner of the store, brought out a Justin Alexander dress on a hanger to me offering it as a dress to consider trying on. I had already tried on a bunch of other dresses that were more along the lines of what I thought I was looking for with my bridal consultant; but the dress that Louise brought out was very different from what I had in my expressed vision, mostly because it was strapless, and I was very big on having straps! Lousie and my consultant encouraged me to try it on, and I begrudgingly agreed. But when I tried it on, it was like... WOAH. There was an undeniable energetic shift, and I got chills. When I walked out to show my entourage, their reactions confirmed what I felt. They were speechless, and it was a game changer! And honestly, the rest is history. I continued trying on 2 more dresses at the shop that were more in this direction (i.e. strapless and avant-garde), and I loved them all. They were all so different and unique, yet traditional and beautiful. I'm an artist, so I knew I wanted something that felt original. There were 3 top dresses from Bridal Elegance that I could see myself getting married in, but the dress that I ended up getting was the Justin Alexander wild card dress that Louise introduced to me because that was the one I couldn't stop thinking about. Also, I liked a lot of different dress elements that I tried on during my entire 50+ dress-shopping experience, but couldn't make a decision; so the fact that this particular dress that I loved came with a blush-colored, removable overskirt made it even more of a winner. It made it so I could essentially have 2 looks throughout the day-win-win! After thinking about it and bringing in my mom to see it, I ended up buying my dream dress 2 weeks later! When my wedding day finally came, with alterations and full-on bridal glam, my dress was even more amazing. I truly felt like a queen. I got SO many compliments on it! It literally looked like a piece of art, both in real life and in photos / on video. (It photographed so well, too). I am still obsessed with my dress, and I couldn't have been happier with this final selection. (I also got a gorgeous cathedral veil with rhinestones on it from Bridal Elegance, so it looked so magical all together). Honestly Kinda hit or miss. They have a very large selection of dresses and the first time I went I had amazing service, the second time it was okay. I didn't really feel special going into it which I get it they work with brides all day everyday but I just over all felt really awkward being there. I really loved one of their dresses but I didn't feel comfortable going back just due to my experience. I hope that that was just my experience and not someone else's. read more

This was the second store I went to and all of the employees were incredibly nice. My stylist brought out at least ten dresses for me to try on until I found the one. I never felt pressured or rushed. read more

Before coming to Bridal Elegance, I visited about 4 different bridal gown stores. (I cannot tell you how many dresses I tried on prior to entering the BE shop, but there were too many to count- and they all started to feel like one, big white blob). Louise and her team made the dress hunting experience enjoyable and easy. They really listened to me and my preferences and they helped me find the perfect dress! I wish I came to BE from the get go! My sister got her wedding dress here and the first appointment went great and she found her dress instantly. The customer service following this appointment was disappointing. She got chose to have her dress altered there and the woman who helped us was very cold. Just seemed like no one cared to be helpful once the dress was paid for. (She once asked about the veils and accessories and was brushed off rather than helped) The WORST thing to come out of this experience was the quality of the alterations. The small metal clasp that holds the entire dress together snapped off after about 10 minutes of wearing the dress. Luckily we had safety pins to figure something out but added unnecessary stress to the big day. Also, the dress ended up being too long and she was tripping over it all day. read more
