Atlantic Family Dental- Garner I wish I could be honest…read moreabout what I experienced there and give them a negative 5 stars. They were the most unprofessional, incompetent, and untrustworthy dental group I've ever experienced. It took them almost a month to treat me because they were denying that, both, of my doctors hadn't sent back my clearance form. My doctors sent me proof of the fax that was sent weeks ago. I called my insurance carrier to look into to it. The next day, the finally had it. I needed a deep cleaning, a filling, and my wisdom tooth extracted. The dentists did nothing, they watched and trained others, without asking my permission, then they wanted me to call someone else for my wisdom tooth. I was also told, I had gum disease but I didn't see that in the report. I will have more dental work done, but it won't be there, and I wouldn't advise anyone go to Atlantic Family Dental, at Garner, if they care about their teeth. I'm going to ask my next dentist to check their work before begining, because I don't want anyone else to be help responsible for their unprofessionalism and possible incompetence.

The friendly service was incredible. Everyone here truly loves their job, the dentist was excellent, no pain, no digging for dollars, she was honest about my treatment, assistants were fun and caring, the hygienist was detailed as they come. Can't say enough about the difference at Main Street, already set set appointments for my wife and oldest adult son...they are efficient, quick, barely wait more than a minute after check in. Highly recommend, so thankful to have found them.

I had a great appointment at Prime Family Dental with Dr. Schtakleff. She is clearly very thorough…read moreand detailed in her work, and did a great job of explaining everything that was going on with my teeth. She took her time with me as opposed to other dentists who just pop in for five minutes at the end of your appointment. Her assistant Gabby, was also really friendly and polite and tried to make the x-rays as easy as possible. Lynn at the front desk went out of her way to get me on the schedule and call my insurance to see what would be covered and when since I am on a recently purchased insurance plan. I had a really questionable dentist back in CA and avoided going to the dentist for a while when I moved out here. I guess you can say Dr. Schtakleff has restored my faith in dentistry :P. She didn't pressure me into fancy dental gadgets/procedures but told me affordable ways to manage my teeth and stop any issues before they get worse. She even did my cleaning herself! Another major plus is that the entire practice was crystal clean! Everything from the bathrooms to the sanitized tools, to the fact that both Gabby and Dr. Schtakleff are decked out in surgical scrubs! You had me at "hygiene."

They had not seen the dentist for any work. I went in because my tooth was killing me. I could not tell which tooth was hurting me because I was in so much pain. They did $345 of X-rays and the dentist looked in my mouth, NEVER TOUCHED ANY OF MY TEETH TO FIGURE OUT WHICH TOOTH IT WAS, she looked only at the X-ray and said it's two of my teeth. Sent me to an oral surgeon to have them removed. Well, they were not the teeth hurting me but now I don't have two teeth. She then would not send a referral over for the actual tooth that was killing me. I went to a new dentist and they said yeah that tooth has to be removed that it can't be saved. So now three teeth gone instead of one. I should have had the choice to remove the two teeth that were not hurting me. The oral surgeon is a whole other story. I told him no one had touched my tooth and before I spent $1000 to have them remove is he sure those are the ones hurting me. Well, as we know he made a mistake too. Total failure on them. A dentist and an oral surgeon should actually touch your teeth before removing them and do a cold test or tap test or something. I don't understand how none of this was done. I was in so much pain I was relying on a dentist knowing what they were doing.

Last spring I had my cleaning and they found a crack under a molar crown. I went to an implant specialist. Had it extracted and a bone graft. During those visits I had extensive halo X-rays and regular X-rays. Today I was told if I didn't have a "big picture done" Each Individual Tooth X rayed, they would not clean my teeth. I walked out. That is not necessary. I just had halo X-rays done a year ago. It isn't healthy to have that many X-rays. I am 72. I am not getting all new crowns or veneers. Not going back ever. Furious. They would not clean my teeth unless I agreed to have each tooth xrayed!

He was pleased and said it would be a good fit for us. So I got an appt. Then we decided to make an appt for my son and he got in faster then my appt as I assume there was a cancellation and we got lucky making the appt. My son went in and liked it a lot and the hygienist (I think Alex?) was great and so was the dentist. My appt was today and it was a breeze and everyone was very nice and I was happy with everything.
