After much research I decided to schedule a consultation and Soheila not only answered all of my questions but provided information that I hadn't even considered. Not only is Soheila very experienced and knowledgeable, but her touch truly is gentle. Let's face it, nothing involving needles is painless but Soheila makes it manageable. The other thing I truly appreciate about Soheila is that she took the time at the consultation to make sure that I understood that electrolysis is a process, that it is a commitment and if I stick with it, I will see permanent results...I have to say, Soheila was right and I'm thrilled! If you're thinking about electrolysis I thoroughly recommend Soheila at A Gentle Touch!

I was a client myself and also brought my 16-year-old daughter for treatment. The owner was unprofessional, inflexible, and provided poor customer service. When the treatment was ineffective, my daughter was made to feel as though it was her fault, which is completely unacceptable--especially when working with a minor. There was no clear plan of care, no accountability for poor results, and the equipment used does not appear to be state-of-the-art. Rather than adjusting the approach, responsibility was shifted to the client. I would walk around with a full beard before I ever give this woman another penny of my money.

My first lashes appointment was with Fernanda and they looked great, but they all fell out when I went on vacation and my face was assaulted by the wind and salt water of the Pacific - I also didn't know you have to wash them to prevent oily buildup, so yeah. I came back two weeks later with literally no extensions left and had to pay for a full set all over again rather than a touch-up. I do wish they had told me about needing to wash them, because I really wasn't provided with the full aftercare instructions the first time I got them. But, now I know. They sell a special foam wash and gentle applicator for the soap here, which I recommend purchasing. My second session was with Viktoriia, who is absolutely incredible. Mynx & Inks is definitely out of the way if you live in DC, but it's worth it for the fair pricing and amazing quality.

All my friends who go say that Blu Water is like no other- getting your nails done in the spa truly feels indulgent. I got a massage done there and it was literally the best massage of my life. So when it came time to get my skin in order, I trusted Blu Water's technicians. I found Ivetta and I am SO glad I did. After I turned 50 I noticed my skin changing. A year later, my skin lost all of its elasticity and I was breaking out- no doubt a loss of estrogen and after taking some pretty serious meds. I scheduled an appointment for a specific service but when I showed up, Ivette took a look at my skin and made recommendations for a different service. After three treatments with her over the course of about two and a half months, my skin has completely turned around! It's absolmutely glowing! It's even, my pores are smaller and it's tighter. It was just starting to crepe- GONE! And even the dark circles under my eyes are lighter. It's abs amazing and I never thought I could be that woman with pretty skin. I went to Teres to correct a permanent makeup job another makeup artist had recently done on me…read more The other artist had not analyzed my face properly. She used a harsh color on my brows and misshaped them. She also did a poor job on my lower eyeliner. Within two months, you could not even see I had eyeliner on my left eye. She had connected my lower and upper eyeliner on my right eye, so my eyes did not match. I was so disappointed in how I looked. I knew I needed to have these mistakes corrected, and I knew I needed to find a highly creditable makeup artist who could do it. I did extensive research on finding a highly recommended permanent makeup artist in the DC area. I wanted someone with experience and credentials I could trust. My research led me to Teres Wright of Permanent Beauty in Rockville, MD. Teres has excellent attention to detail and listens attentively to your needs. She is very knowledgeable about makeup and color. She is friendly, warm, and takes her time to analyze your face taking into consideration your age, skin tone, lips, etc., and only then will she make recommendations on what will work best for you. Painlessly, Teres corrected the mistakes the first artist made on my face. She camouflaged the areas that needed to be hidden, and she reshaped and recolored the other areas to enhance my face. I look so much better. If you want outstanding results the first time, make an appointment with Teres. She is a perfectionist, and her work speaks for itself. I highly recommend Teres to anyone who is thinking of getting permanent makeup.

People are shocked when I tell them my lip color is actually permanent! I am booking an appointment to have my eyebrows done this summer. Then, I won't really need any make-up! The option to get semi permanent eyebrows to avoid not taking 5-10 minutes on the daily making sure said eyebrows are filled-in with the right shade of brown/black and the right amount of strokes? Especially, for a person who is lazy when it comes to makeup? Sign me up! Yes, it took me six years later. But it was worth the long-ass wait. Huemon Beauty did an excellent job with my eyebrows. I was very specific wanting natural looking brows. And she customized exactly to my specificity. I'm talking from the shape to the colors to the way the hair strokes were arranged. It's a long process (2.5 hours) but Deyonne, owner and technician, made sure I was comfortable throughout. She even asked my music choice to play in the background; I went with my homies Backstreet Boys and Jazmine Sullivan. Roughly 1.5 months after the initial procedure was the touchup. I've been seeing Crystal for about a year now. I get so many compliments on my lashes - they look natural enough, but I don't wear any makeup except foundation so they really stand out.
