I accompanied one of my parents who was having a procedure. I knew that I would almost certainly have to wait outside, and it was fortunately not too hot, and there was a nice shady spot near the entrance from which I could watch. It was a later appointment in the afternoon, and as the parking lot emptied I made a couple rounds of the parking lot. (Gotta get those steps in for the day!) Tip--when exiting next time, I will go around the back of the building to the lower exit which is further away from the curve and makes it easier to see. It soon became obvious that they were not only running behind but that we apparently were the last one of the day. Dr. Downey came out personally to not only tell me how the procedure went but to apologize for the wait and running behind. I thought it was very nice and unexpected that a doctor didn't just send out a nurse with the messages so that he could expedite his own departure. Moreover, my parent seems to be very pleased with the care and attention from Dr. Downey and his staff.

I have been a patient at this practice for over 20 years, and I have always trusted and respected…read moreDr. Leong. She is knowledgeable, professional, and someone I have felt confident following medically. However, over the last couple of years, my annual appointments have consistently been with a physician assistant rather than with Dr. Leong. Unfortunately, my experiences with this provider have been disappointing. I have felt talked over during visits, not fully listened to, and at times treated as though my concerns were an inconvenience. I raised these concerns previously and was told I would not have to see this provider again, yet at my most recent visit I was scheduled with her again. The most concerning experience occurred when I became extremely ill. My wife called the office to request medication for nausea and was told that if we did not hear back, we should check the pharmacy. There was no follow-up call and no prescription sent. For a patient of more than two decades, that lack of communication and care felt dismissive and unacceptable. I still have respect for Dr. Leong, but the overall patient experience has declined. Long-term patients deserve to feel heard, respected, and cared for -- especially when acutely ill. I hope the practice and anyone thinking of joining takes this feedback seriously.

Doctors are excellent, but the support staff and billing process have been extremely frustrating…read more I received a "First and Final Notice" for a bill more than two years after my visit. Despite multiple attempts, I have been unable to reach the billing department. When I called the office for assistance, they were unable to help and simply transferred me back to billing, where no one answers the phone. To make matters worse, the note on the bill threatened collections. I attempted to pay the balance online, but the Phreesia payment system froze and would not complete the transaction. At this point, I have tried every available option: The billing department does not answer calls. The office staff cannot answer billing questions. Calls are routed back to billing with no resolution. The online payment system is not functioning. The physicians may provide good care, but the administrative and billing experience has been unacceptable. If patients cannot get answers to billing questions or make payments through the available channels, there are serious organizational issues that need to be addressed. Unfortunately, this experience has earned a well-deserved one-star review..

Another easy and smooth appointment. Street parking and the parking lot in front of Whitaker Clinic…read morewere full when I circled around. Parking in the Kirklin Clinic lot was accessible. This is a busy garage that I am very used to (just drive to the 6th or 7th floor and you're almost always guaranteed to have a spot without struggle). Take the elevator to the 2nd floor, use the crosswalk in the garage that connects Kirklin and Whitaker Clinic, pre pay for your ticket once leaving at a kiosk or pay the attendant (prepay is typically faster to get out). I'm so thankful this clinic (for my floor) has a 30 minute grace period because a 30 minute commute took an hour and 15 minutes the day of my appointment. It pays to normally plan to arrive to my appointments 30 minutes early so I had 15 minutes of a grace period left. Staff is efficient, they got me in and out much faster than my initial appointment, all questions were answered, we agreed on how to move forward and I was sent on my way. Very satisfied with my choice to use this facility.
