If you see it, and you like cheese, you're gonna want to pull in. This place is unassuming and nothing special per se, but you're here for cheese. This establishment has processed cheese, Cheese curds, jams/jellies, crackers, etc. The thing here that is awesome is their aged cheddar cheeses and from 10 to, I think, I saw a 20-year-old shard cheddar. All of these cheeses are very reasonably priced. Either way, I need about a couple of pounds of 12-year and some aged brick cheese. They were the best thing ever. I have this on my radar now. Whenever I go to Wausau or Stevens Point, I am hitting this place and stocking up on my cheese.

Did buy the cheese curds for my stay here as well as beef sticks.... delicious. Have not yet received the box, but am very excited for the delivery. Definitely worth the stop. Being from New England, I am familiar with honey and syrup, so did not need to purchase those, but there were other delights such as homemade soaps, candies, ice cream and kitchen sundries. On a separate note, had I driven here, I would have gone home with one of their beautiful chairs. Love the year-round porch/deck furniture and these were clearly quality chairs.

**THIS REVIEW IS JUST FOR THE RESTAURANT**…read more The cheese curds were unfortunately not the best. they were chewy, but they were also very greasy, and they were serve served with a dipping sauce that was entirely too thick and made them eat heavier. The sauce also didn't have much flavor - tasted mostly just like mayonnaise. The biscuits and gravy are complicated... Technically they were past breakfast time but they said they could still whip them up for me since they weren't busy. The biscuits were okay - buttery but not exciting. The gravy was the best part super creamy and a richness to it but again nothing out of the ordinary - no unique flavors or spices... And I was really disappointed that the sausage was just little cut up pieces on top not mixed into the gravy at all for flavoring. I would eat again, but I wouldn't go out of my way to stop here.

I have always been satisfied with their products and service. Chrlie's has a large variety of top quality cheese to choose from. Their deli sandwiches are made fresh to order with your choice of bread, deli meats, veggies and condiments. They don't skimp on the ingredients either -- their sandwiches make for substantial meal. The grocery department includes both staples and specialty items -- mostly at convenience store prices. Their ice cream is generic but acceptable and the scoops are always generous. For my daughter's wedding rehearsal night picnic we ordered pulled BBQ pork & hot turkey for sandwiches, potato salad, bean salad and a few other items from Charlie's catering kitchen. I'm not a fan of packing catered food to go in apparently reused cardboard ice cream cartons (because I'm not sure exactly how to clean and sanitize them after the ice cream is served) -- but everything tasted fine, all of our guests were satisfied, and I would definitely order from Charlie's catering kitchen again.

The little shop was nicely decorated and has the largest collection of spreadable cheese knivesI have ever seen. We also bought a box of a variety of fudge slices, bridge mix, malted milk balls (my husbands fav and he said these were the best he has ever had). For me I could hardly get one in my mouth and they had a thick layer of chocolate. Good but not something I could just pop into my mouth like my husband can. We got a gift box of chocolates for a gift. My husband tried one chocolate off the shelf and said it was really good. So we are hoping our friend likes hers. I have been working my way through the creamy fudge. It is delicious and they have a large selection of flavors. I ate the bridge mix but for me it had too many of the big malted milk balls, which I gave to my husband. To be fair the bridge mix was almost out in the caseso I was getting the bottom of the barrel. I would have liked more raisins and other nuts. We plan on stopping back to try out some of the cheeses and getting a cheese/sausage gift box. Will give another review on the cheeses.
