One of the best chain restaurants we have been to in quite some time. Chain rest. are always a gamble, one may be great - a different town - not great. This location is extremely good. First of all, the manager was kind and responsive and brought the moms at the table (it was Mother's Day!) a cute insulated wine cup with a clever message. That's the good part. Sadly, our server (I believe it was Emma - hard to see because she was so quick to bolt by), was very inattentive. When we placed our drink orders she asked orders for each of the other three in our party - even asked my husband twice - and was about to leave our table before I had to stop her to ask her for a drink. My BLT salad with salmon was rather flat - the chopped veggie situation was nice but dressing was bland even after asking for lemon when no balsamic was available. Salmon was cooked nicely. But what made me write my review is that first, I had to get up to ask a manager for something for the salad after trying four times to catch our server's attention. Then she came to our table mid-meal - genuinely while my daughter in law and I were only halfway through our entrees - to ask us to check out. My husband was in the restroom and I had to ask her to wait until he returned! After many years in service, this was very off-putting and should be a no-brainer. She did ask a couple if times on-the-go if we needed anything, but these issues made that feel like an after-thought. My fiance and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal and our service. The only thingt that I would have changed is the quality for the price. The chicken quesadilla is delicious and my sushi bowl was as well, but for the amount of food, it is absolutely not worth that. I'm usually a 5 star reviewer, so it kinda hurts to give a 3. I'm in town for business and stopped at Drakes last night for dinner. I sat at the bar because it's easier when dining solo and still in the middle of the action! Bartender came by quickly to get me a beverage and took my order. Food came out quickly and hot (and delicious) but I waited like 10 minutes with an empty beverage, at the bar, and watched the bartender and server talk and walk by me a few times. Finally after staring at a server who was behind the bar, when she finally looked at me, she got me one refill. I would have had four with my meal but ended up with only 2 fills total and it frustrates the heck out of me. Bartender was friendly but I left really disappointed. Came out for a lunch/dinner with the family, and the experience was pretty underwhelming. 2 party members got a salad which came out soggy and for whatever reason, had no flavor, like the ranch was lacking taste. The 40 dollar steak another member ordered was tough, dry, and cold. I ordered the Chicken Bites from the starters menu and they too came out cold. Sushi was pretty good though! My son and I wanted to eat in Pikeville so we decided on the new restaurant. The parking lot was packed and it took a few minutes to find a parking spot. I felt like the spaces were too small, even though my vehicle is not large. We went in and was seated immediately. We were first taken to a table near the back of the restaurant, but it was near a main isle where the traffic was heavy. So I requested a booth and the hostess lead us to a booth close to the bar. The table and the seat had the same, flat, wood surface. The seats and table were also elevated, so you sat with your feet off the floor. There was music videos playing and the sound was pretty loud. All of the items on the menu were above average in price, with some of the the better quality steaks very expensive (over $45). Most appetizers were $15.99 and up, as were the sandwiches. My son ordered the appetizer (for an entree) chicken Quesadilla. He added a side of tater tots. I ordered a Mushroom swiss hamburger with tater tots. He ordered a water and I ordered an unsweet tea with no lemon. It came with a lemon. The food came out about 10 minutes later. The tater tots were crisp and tasty but not hot. The hamburger was about half cooked (but, I didn't specify for it to be well done). It tasted fine, but not exceptional. My son said the quesadilla was good. The waitresses were somewhat friendly and checked on us often. However, they didn't seem like experienced waitstaff and didn't seem to focus on their customers. The total bill was about $43.00 for an entree, an appetizer, a side and one drink. I don't mind paying more for a really good meal, but the very uncomfortable seating and loud music. The food just wasn't worth the price and I can get as good or better food for a much cheaper price. I don't think I will go back. read more

I travel to Pikeville quarterly and this is my favorite place to eat in town. The food is consistently good.

I only come for the sushi tbh, the eel roll is so good but I try to taste around. The adult drinks are a lil on the weak side but that's a preference. I hate the tall tables and those stools, but I get it, saves space but I'm thick thighed and poor blood circulation so my legs swell and turn purple from sitting in them. My fiance only ever gets the chicken quesadilla he says it's great! Oh services is wonderful though. Typical speed but friendly staff! read more

We are so excited to get to welcome Drakes to Pikeville on their opening night!! The place was absolutely packed yet we were able to walk in and grab two seats at the bar. The staff were all smiles and they were hopping. We ordered virgin cocktails and buffalo chicken dip appetizer and all were very good. For entrees we had the mushroom Swiss smashburger and the mini juicy Lucy's. The food was all fresh and flavorful! We will be back soon to try more of this diverse menu! read more

i've gone here a few times now and every visit there has been a problem with the food, the service, or items not coming out. Staff is rude and inconsiderate. comments like 'your salad was free anyway' when they bring out my steak first are out of line. just because something is included doesn't make it free. read more
