Car had a torn front tire. Called Drake Towing and booked a tow for 10 am on January 21, 2026. The driver, Matthew called around 10:05 am to inform me that the tow truck was on the way and arriving soon. He arrived on time at around 10:10 am. Loaded the car and took it to the shop. Matthew is very professional, knowledgeable and polite. He even taught me a few things about cars that I did not know in the past. We arrived at the tire shop ahead of time and got my car fixed. Very happy with the services provided by Matthew. Highly recommended. read more

I guess I do this every two years. Drake drivers now have a portable charger, don't need to reach from the truck to the parking stall wall. The service person phoned when I was told he would phone, and he gave me 8 minutes notice before he arrived, which was perfect. He even showed me where the charger attachments are in case I would want to do the restart myself with a friend next time. The price was what I was told when i set up the appointment. I paid with VISA, but as someone else mentioned, they don't seem to have a credit card reader - he had to call the numbers into the office. read more

Very disappointed in pricing scam. Quoted me $165 taxes in for a tow and then charged me $200 + tax after the tow. Said they "forgot to add other charge". Be cautious of what they say they will charge you versus what they actually charge you. read more

Credit card Scam Yesterday (02/04) I requested for battery jump start service at around 10:30pm. After around 2 hours wait, the guys finally came and help me with the jump start. But when I asked for payment method, he said he doesn't have card machine, and the only way is giving him my credit card numbers so he can call to the office and make the transaction from there. I was really need to go so I gave him my credit card numbers. The next day, I check my credit card statement and see there is a transaction from a cannabis store for $125.46 which is not mine. WTF ???? Giving that this credit card is my backup card, which I only use for emergency. I've never used it for nearly a year, neither tapped or inserted to any machine. And last night was the first time my credit card info was exposed. read more

He claims that he was towing the F-150 parked in front of me (the dark grey pickup truck which already he had already gained access to.) before walking over to my car and opened my car, which can be seen off of the reflection of the truck in front. As soon as he opened the door, my car alarm went off (can see my headlights, signals flashing off of the reflection of the truck) and he had leaned into my car and shook the vehicle which triggered the dash cam that recorded this footage. When I got back to my car, my side mirror was folded in and my driver seat has been moved backwards slightly. I was parked in a IMPark lot and had purchased a full day parking. This man had damaged the internals of my door when he jimmied it open, and as i called the manager of Drake Towing to complain, he GUARANTEES me that his employee did not damage my car even though he admits that there is a chance. Their business model is unethical- my partner ran into car trouble and called for a tow from Oak and 41st area to Kingsway Honda. She was quoted $65. They charged $110 with no explanation! When she disputed it they told her they used a dolly- not that they needed a dolly but that that they had used one. They couldn't provide an explanation as to why. The car is a run of the mill 2012 Honda Civic!! They were rude and hung up on her when she called- despite the fact she was quite civil and genuinely perplexed. And then they told her they would charge her more! They are a disgrace- then again not a renowned industry for professionalism and integrity. read more

I had a Mini Coup that had been parked for over a year with a dead battery and before Angela even towed she wanted to make sure she couldn't jump start it just to help save me $. After two experiences we had with Drake Towing today, these guys deserve a great review. We had to get our uninsured, lowered vehicle towed to and from a shop today and both the drivers we received handled our car with as much care as we would have handled it ourself. We didn't get either one's name unfortunately, but driver 513 was amazing. I haven't used them for about two decades because of my experience. I blew an anxle on my exotic car about 125 miles away from my dealership in Vancouver. The car was properly loaded on a flatbed & I rode with the tow truck driver back into town. The dealership would pay for all towing costs within a 200 mile radius of Vancouver. I was told I would have to give Drake Towing my Visa number in case the dealership refused to pay & for the driver to come to my distant location. I found out later that the dealership paid the towing fees & my credit card had been billed twice what the actual towing fee was. In all, the dealership paid $225 & I was billed on my Visa card $225 + $225. I called Drake Towing & complained & they said sorry that driver is an independent contractor & Drake is not responsible for the $450 overcharge on my credit card. Contacting the tow truck driver was of no use & so I just wrote it off to a bad experience. Don't use this company unless you're desperate. If someone works under your company name. You should be responsible for any problems occurring. read more

My brakes went in my car tonight - and I got in an accident. I called CAA and they deployed someone from Drakes Towing named Kyle. He was late but apologized, I asked for a recommendation on where to take my car as CAA only would recommend CAA auto service in Surrey (50km away), he dropped my car off at a Canadian Tire close by and showed me how to leave my keys with the lock box. Very polite and helpful - I am in customer service and I think great service should be noticed. He dropped me off at a car to go so I could get home without walking with all my bags. HORRIBLE! Can't believe they are allowed to be so abusive to people while towing a vehicle. I had to call the police on one guy for acting threatening and not letting us leave. We had entered the vehicle before he got there I suspect to tow us. He blocked us in pretended to be towing the other vehicle very slowly and then told us he would keep us there all night and not let us out. Very tough boy to talk like that to two women. I called the police and then Drake towing at which point he moved but what a disgusting experience. I have yet to receive any kind of apology from Drake Towing. This illustrates the low level people they hire to threaten two women trying to leave a restaurant at 8pm. I will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau as well. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE AND THE COMPANY. They use illegal methods of towing and the drivers are super confrontational. God fucking damn I was inside the subway by Eldorado on Kingsway and saw a woman outside being towed. Okay sure they were towing an illegally parked car, whatever idc. But then upon closer inspection, there was a guy sitting in in the car!! WTF???!? The driver got the hooks on and everything. That is super unethical.. Ran out and see them arguing. The couple told me they tried to move the car but drakes guy wouldn't let them, instead he put on the hooks and everything getting ready to tow when there was a human in the goddamn car. He eventually let them go after making them paying an unecessay $50. This made my blood boil. I told the couple to file a police report and take down his license plate. Hopefully they did. Fuck drakes. This is the most absurd thing I've ever seen on Vancouver streets. I remember watching CBC marketplace about shitty towing companies in Ontario, but it turns out we have them too. Looking at other reviews, seems like these ppl really don't care about the law or others property. Seriously.. somebody file a lawsuit already. I never thought that I'd write a review for a tow truck service. At least, I never thought that it would be a cheery one! I locked my keys in the trunk. Even the "car guy" who built his own couldn't get them out, since he told me that newer cars were "more difficult". I mean, if he couldn't, then who could? Certainly, none of my friends. So annoying. I was driven across town, and broke into my building, hoping to retrieve my spare set of keys, but my landlord was away. So I did what anyone without BCAA would do: I called the tow truck service. Soon afterwards, I cancelled, vowing to reach someone at my building and not pay the astronomical service price. But, he was on his way, he said, so he came over, and with his magical block wedges and exquisite hanger tool, he unlocked my seemingly difficult car within about a minute, and only two hours after the initial incident had occurred. And he only charged me 1/2 a fortune in cash, of course! I actually wanted to hug him (but I didn't). "You restored my faith in tow truck drivers," I said. And then, what a surprise, but I was actually the first to Yelp him. ps-It helps to be stuck close to the tow truck place on a Sunday night for the most optimal of experiences. One of Drake Towing drivers gave me the middle finger while road raging on me while I merged onto the highway. Not sure why he was so mad as there was about 20 car lengths between us when I merged. He decided to race up right to me, tailgated me for about a kilometer before he passed in the left lane in a rage and flipped me his middle finger. He had a vehicle in tow at the time too. Very unprofessional, I wouldn't recommend them. Try anyone of the many towing companies before you try Drake. If this is the type of conduct to expect from their drivers to a stranger, imagine if you were a customer! read more

Drake removed our car from our own parking stall based on a neighbour who misrepresented herself as the owner of the stall, likely abetted by a strata employee who later tried to cover up their actions. It took 7 months and initiating Small Claims action to get this resolved. In the end it seems that Drake was helpful in pressing the strata to settle by making the strata aware of the employee's role in the matter. read more

This is the worse company i have ever come across. Not only did they illegally tow my car (so they pretty much stole it) they were horribly rude to me when i when to discuss what happened. The huge man dealing with me not only swore at me and treated me terribly, as a younger woman, he totally made me feel threatened. They towed my vehicle which had a legitimate parking pass, made me cab down to get it back, refused to double check for the pass in the window, made me pay $120 to check. The man was so rude that when we found the parking pass which was so nicely placed on my passenger side ground, he refused to even read it and said, "At this point I don't even give a sh*t." So to concluded, they illegally towed my vehicle (after it was parked for two days without being touched or moved, why wasn't it towed then?), made me pay for it to get it back and then was threatening and horrible to me after the fact. A company has now found a way to steal from people and make them pay to get it back. I have followed up this issue with the police, the city of Vancouver and the company. I will keep you posted but this is the WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. disappointed. read more

I gave these guys a shot once I saw a review by one of my Yelp friends. I locked my keys in my car...and since BCAA only helps their own customers, I decided to give these guys a call. They came by really quick and were able to get my car open fast and without damaging the car. I found the service fast and friendly. I would recommend them if you're in a bind like I was. It cost me 52 bucks...but these things rarely happen...so better this than a BCAA membership. Lol read more

Company illegally towed my vehicle from my own parking spot. Owner was very rude when I explained my situation to him over phone, refusing to provide me the details of the driver that towed my car. The company lot looked run down, and the man at the front desk was very confrontational. The next day, I saw Drake towing someone else's car that was the same model as mine (BMW X5) by its front wheels! The X5 is a AWD vehicle and towing only 2 wheels can damage the drivetrain. Drake drivers have no idea what they're doing and the company has no right to damage other people's property. If you check their Facebook page you can see their snarky attitude towards people who complained about them on their wall. Would not recommend. read more

Great experience with Drake Towing and especially our driver Dan, who was professional, friendly, and funny. My car wouldn't start on Pride Sunday. We were lucky to have Dan as our driver, who braved his way through pride traffic and towed me out of the Renaissance Hotel garage to the nearest Canadian Tire. We were very impressed with his driving skills given that he had to maneuver in and out of the hotel garage and navigate a very tight clearance. His sense of humor was much appreciated and he really helped take my mind off my car having broken down. To top it off, he gave us a ride back to the hotel so we could get our bearings and figure things out from a comfortable place. Drake's was dispatched by AAA. I've never had an interaction with an automotive company like this, ever. The worst was when he (he refused to give me his name) loaded all the spare tire tools in the back wrong so the floor panel wouldn't sit flat, so he just tried to shove it down. I said, well let's do this right and since he didn't fix it, I loaded all the tools in correctly for him. He tried to load in the tire WHILE I was doing this and pushed me aside with the tire (I'm wearing a dress and doing his work for him, btw.) I said, what are you doing? You just shoved me aside. Then he set the tire upright next to my car and left for his truck (so it could roll into the road - I was locking the car and ran back to roll it back.) To start: he insisted on putting air in and that it wasn't a flat - I said it is a flat, I had just put in air, please put on the tire. He didn't have an allen wrench so I said, okay, I'll just call AAA back for someone with an allen wrench. He wouldn't let me do that (he'd lose money) and put on my spare, which I explicitly said I didn't want, because then I'd have to change the spare for the regular tire myself, which defeats the whole purpose of having someone change my tire. I'd say the worst is putting at risk traffic with a rolling tire and shoving me aside with a tire. Super rude, super confrontational, didn't listen to what I needed (I am female, I must not know what I'm talking about), and wouldn't do the work I asked him to do. read more

My bf's car started smoking as he was starting the engine which is never a good sign. So we thought we better call for a tow and get it to a shop ASAP. It didn't take long on the phone to get tow... where as trying to get through on the phone to busters was like pulling teeth. The tow truck driver was pretty quick to arrive and was very friendly.
