What a mess! Who knew what lurked below the surface?????? Fortunately, Acosta Plumbing answered my frantic phone call. AP Office manager Nicole responded with concerned understanding of the [emergency] situation. Frank Acosta himself was at my home within an hour to assess the issue with my building's management and engineer. Everyone got 'on the same page' to resolve the problem and a schedule was implemented. Acosta Plumbing took care of everything INCLUDING the Permit process. We each had jobs to do and accomplish. My job between Christmas and the first week post-New Year's was to find replacement tile for the shower base which did not require 10-12 weeks delivery along with possible Tariffs and delays AND would coordinate with the rest of the bathroom design. During the holidays, many business are closed. A challenge, indeed. Plus I did not want to inconvenience my neighbor for longer than absolutely necessary. Threatening to revoke the permit - this was presented as pressure, but had no real impact on me. 3. Refusing to draft a contract until payment - Florida law requires a written contract for jobs over $1,000. This refusal is a major concern. The total quote was $1700. 4. Name discrepancy - the license belongs to Darwin Fernandez, but Kevin Garcia was the contact person. . There was no confirmation that a licensed contractor would supervise the work. 5. Pressure/harassment - repeated attempts to coerce payment show poor professionalism. 6. Sloppy paperwork - I was presented with a permit for a gas water heater, which I did not have. I had to catch HIS mistake Based on these issues, I decided not to proceed with this company. I'm sharing this experience so others can make an informed decision.
