Simple to repair if you have the tools and the knowledge, but neither of us qualifies. Lenny often contracts with others who are right for the job, and Nate-the-Snake promptly arrived and resolved the problem in less than an hour. Our house is 100+ years old and frequently needs some TLC. Once again, two plumbing issues in the bathroom. Not critical, but concerning with regard to function. Aren't bathroom issues always concerning, especially in a one-bath home? Our man, Dave D., was at our door in about 24-48 hrs. Made an assessment, then off to source the parts, and finished the job promptly. Knowledgeable, polite.....and left nothing to be desired with his work. Granted it is limited experience with Lenny and crew, but why would we not recommend him? I suggest that you keep him in mind for your next plumbing issue. Al…read morerecommended not getting the most expensive models -- rightly saying that the extra cost wouldn't be recovered by the moderately higher efficiency of the super-high efficiency models. Same for the water heater. They did the job with old-school black pipe instead of the crap most plumbers use now. The cost was fully 1/3 the price of the most expensive bids. It was a beautiful job that -- now 10 years later -- still works perfectly with zero maintenance. We're delighted with their work and recommend Hurlburt without reservation.

I had a new kitchen counter & sink installed, and the contractor said they never install the sink (mine is a regular, simple drop-in) because plumber's prefer to have the room to work. Paul the Plumber sent a young kid out, who announced that they don't install sinks. Well, after calls to their office they agreed to drop in the sink, and charged me MORE than the cost of the $300 sink for less than 1/2 work. I also wasn't expecting them to say that they will only replace all of the piping so they can guarantee it, so the whole bill came to around $1000. Next thing I know, there's water all over the place. So they send the same kid out and it turns out that he didn't cap the drain for the dishwasher (which hadn't been installed yet) so he rigged up something. In the meanwhile, the same kid fixed the hot/cold water valve on my downstairs shower, and somehow ended up breaking the entire shower head off the wall, and cutting a huge hole in the wall. He also snaked the upstairs tub. Guess what? More water under the kitchen sink. So I checked to see if the plumbing license on the website is still valid (which it is), but it certainly isn't for this kid. So I called and told them about the water under the sink & asked for the kid's license #. She said she'd get back to me with the #, but instead sent out another guy who DID have a license. Turns out the unlicensed kid capped the drain incorrectly and he didn't screw down the sink drain correctly either, which is why water was leaking everywhere. And as for the tub? The kid managed to screw that up too so the drain stopper didn't work any more and I had to pay another plumber to fix it. The upshot? This is the place for you if you want some unlicensed, unsupervised kid doing your work.
