this company wronged me and made me throw away 500 bucks. (minimum 1000 gallon pump). backstory to this, i was told they were going to schedule me for a diagnostics right after the pump and they "forgot". after a few text messages with the so called sales guy named Matt, he mentioned they can come back out monday (4 days after the initial pump), and if it needed pumped again (4 days later) i would pay another 500 bucks so they can diagnose. maybe because the sales guy doesnt know how diagnostics work but definitely commission based salesman. after our conversation i had a very strong feeling they are a petty company and do not have great serving/service attitude towards the community. They were actually recommended to me from another plumbing company and I will definitely let that other company know they made a mistake as well with recommending drain-pro. anybody reading this review, if you have to choose anybody to come out and fix an issue, make sure they are not sales guys and not commissioned based. He went ahead and listened to my calls, my first 2 calls when i called in i made sure they were both going to be there because the water pumper doesnt know the trade and does not know how to diagnose. Obviously the 3rd time i called in i wanted the same, as the lady gave me pricing for the diagnostics as well. matt made the excuse that since i didnt mention anything about it on the 3rd phone call within 1 day that i didnt need it and assumed i just wanted to throw away 500 bucks for fun. I called and scheduled an appointment. Had to change my Holiday plans to accommodate times. At the end of the four hour arrival window, no one had showed up or called. I called the same number i did to make the appointment. The lady that answered the phone said i am not even in their system. I stated that "mistakes happen and if you are willing to give me a discount, I would be more then happy to just reschedule." Lady on phone told me "it was not their mistake because i was not in their system, and they have no discount." If this company can not admit a mistake, Then why should i trust them with my house. Everyone I met from Drain Pro is a nice person, but none of that counts when you get letters from the health department saying your septic tank is out of compliance and they're going to fine you. Drain Pro inspected my septic tank in early January of 2022. The UV light wasn't working. I had some electricians (who don't work for Drain Pro but were recommended by them) change the circuit board in February. I told the owner of Drain Pro that this had been taken care of and he could've confirmed that with the electricians if necessary. The problem is that he never notified the health department that my UV light was working, which resulted in the health department sending me a few letters (the last one by registered mail). I explained the situation to the owner of Drain Pro last week and told him I had until December 2nd to fix the problem. He said he could come out on December 5th for the next annual inspection and since he knew someone at the health department, they agreed to not put a certificate of non-compliance on my property title even though the inspection would be after the initial deadline of December 2nd. On December 5th I was at home all day waiting for these guys to arrive, but they never did. I called the owner on his cell phone; he said that his office gave him an incorrect number so they were unable to contact me to confirm the appointment and they canceled it. Fortunately they were able to come back the next day (between noon and 4pm) and perform the inspection. I called Drain Pro's office a little after 3 PM to confirm that they were still coming out. The receptionist said she would call the dispatcher and get back to me but after 30 minutes she still hadn't returned the call. When I called the office a second time, the woman apologized and said she forgot. These people do not appear to be well organized, and that's the problem; the problem with Drain Pro is that they're great until they're NOT - and when they're NOT, it'll be YOUR problem with the health department, NOT Drain Pro's. Edit: Someone named Joe (at Drain Pro) called me today after reading my review. He said that my review didn't represent the whole truth. Following that discussion, I agreed to share some additional information for clarification. 1) Joe said that since the electricians who fixed my UV light don't work directly for Drain Pro, Randy couldn't take their word (or my word) that the problem had been fixed in order for him to contact the health department - and that a follow-up inspection should have been done prior to contacting the health department. If Randy had told me that a follow-up inspection was required, we could have scheduled one. 2) Joe said he thought I should've called Drain Pro months ago instead of slandering them on social media. I responded that it's only slander if it's not true, and that I accurately represented my experience with Drain Pro in my review. I said that I assumed Randy had contacted the health department as he promised to, so when I sent an email to one of the health department staff members who sent me a letter, I thought that would solve the problem. 3) Joe said that Randy did me a favor by contacting the health department and extending the deadline from December 2nd to December 5th. I believe this was more for Drain Pro's benefit (to not lose an inspection to another company) because if Randy hadn't offered to do that, I would have hired another provider to inspect our septic system by the original deadline of December 2nd. Final: Kelli, since I didn't email Randy or record the phone call where I told him that the UV light had been repaired, I can't prove that I told him, nor can I prove that he promised to contact the health department on my behalf. People will have to decide for themselves who is telling the truth. And with that, I'm out. read more

In all cases, Drain-Pro personnel have been professional and have taken the time to explain our system and any issues. The dispatch team in the office is great, as are the field staff. A special shout-out to Dillon, who was a total pro and customer-focused. He cleaned the system's filters, jetted the line, and took images so we could see where the trouble spots are. I had drain pro come inspect my septic tank to get an estimate on how much it will cost to get repairs done. They said they charge 200 an hour. We had another company come out prior to drain pro so everything was already dug up. All he had to do was look down two holes. They sent a young man out that did not have a clue what he was doing. He looked down the holes for awhile and then went out to get his equipment. He couldn't get his equipment to work. He kept taking the batteries out because he couldn't get it to work. He ended up calling someone for help. My husband had to tell him what was wrong. They charged me for 1 1/2 hours. No digging involved. He spent most of his time trying to figure out why his equipment didn't work. It shouldn't take 1 1/2 hours to put a scope down my tank They charged me 300 dollars for my husband to tell him what was wrong. read more

DrainPro was recommended by my realtors to pump my septic system for the sale of my home. They were quick to schedule but the technician did a poor job on three separate occasions and there was no oversight to inspect his work. He didn't properly pump or clean on the first occasion. Next my motor needed replacing (which never had a problem previously). The tech not only didn't bring it up to code, but left parts floating in the sludge. Other parts fell off when a second septic company came for another opinion. The motor actually pulled debris into the system because the basket wasn't installed at all and then they told me I would need to dig up my whole yard to the cost of several thousand dollars to unclog the system. When confronted, they skirted the issue for over a month and did not stand behind the lack of their work nor pay for the fix. Hugely disappointing all around and I would avoid this headache by not using their services. read more

I would recommend people to look at the other one star rated reviews for this company. There is a trend and I think it's pretty reasonable. For quick and easy projects such as a simple pump I think it can be reasonable. Past that I think you need to consider our options as they have a history of issues with customer service and pricing. We had similar issues, that left our family feeling attacked and the price didn't match the service performed. Surely they have a differing view of the issue, but from our perspective we have had an almost 3 month ordeal of trying to get our septic to stop overflowing and as new homeowners it has been extremely stressful. DP came recommended from my neighbor. I called, their phone was answered by a friendly sounding female, she determined what my problem was and got me the next available appt. Later that evening a technician named, Zack arrived. This was the same tech that assisted my neighbor a month ago. I showed Zach where and what the problem was, he quickly got to work and knew exactly what to do. He tested the snaked drain twice to make sure that there wouldn't be any issue. I am happy to report that all drains are in working order. As far as price is concerned, I am very happy. Here is a short story, I am a veteran of the Iraq war, lost my job, then spent years in college for the VA bill in order to take care of my family. After I graduated, I had no income and my mother (whom I help take care of) supported me for a while. I looked for a long time a got a job at Ft. Lewis as a civilian worker. But the process took months, still no pay, my first pay will be in July. One day our plumbing would not work, showers, toilet, everything would back up. We had no money, and all we had was for gas for my new job. After months of no plumbing, The owner of this company heard about our situation, and saw it in his heart to send two workers out and fix everything for free!!!! He sent Josh out, and his very own son who had just started. I could not believe coming home from work, seeing the truck there and hearing from my mother how generous and kind this company is. The workers were also very nice and did a very good job. I will use these guys if I ever need help in the future, not only to pay it forward, or because they were so generous, but because they did a hood job, worked four hours on a monster clog, and were nice. Sorry, I have to modify my previous review. I gave them 4 stars last time, but that was premature. I ended up calling them 2 more times for the same job and quite honestly it is still not working well. But then I called them to pump out a residual septic tank and they really messed that up. They pumped the tank out with what appeared to be no incident. But later, I received a letter from TPCHD stating that they reported a problem with the tank. First, they should have called me and give me the option to take care of it as they were out there. Second, they should have told me that there was a problem. It was very rude from them to report me without letting me know. I called the salesman and he said blah, blah, blah, but it will cost $2,000 to fix! I called another company and they fixed it for $250. I asked them to give me a quote on pumping cost and it was half of what DP charged. Very disappointing. For $25-$50, this could have been fixed at the time, kept me happy and kept me as a customer. read more

This company came out to our 4 plex to pump the septic tank in the back yard, first they dug up 3 large holes in the back yard left them sitting dug up with nothing covering them for 3 days so we had to worry about our pets possibly falling in the holes, then they came out Monday and covered the holes with plywood boards. Why they didn't do that in the first place is beyond me. Finally came out Wednesday to pump the tank, when the gentleman was finished, he managed to dump raw sewage on the ground right below my daughters bedroom window and all over on and near our bbq, and just left a bio hazard of raw sewage sitting in 80 degree heat for 5 plus hours. It took complaints to our property management to get them to show back up to actually clean up the mess they left and should have cleaned up before leaving in the first place. We made 4 separate attempts 24 hours to try to get ahold of a manager there and each time we called we were assured we would get a call back from a manager, which never happened. Finally on our 4th attempt my fiancé was able to speak to the manager Joe, who was basically laughing about raw sewage being sprayed on and near our bbq. Who would want to eat food off of something that was soaking in human waste for 5 hours? But it was a funny joke to Joe. I would not do business with this company nor recommend them to my worst enemy. Very unprofessional and clearly don't take safety of people's health seriously. We pumped the tank last May with their service and about 10 months we have to pumped again. We have another company came to check the septic and the technician said whoever empty your tank last time didnt put the filter in correctly. That is probably causing the drain field problem. Now we are facing min 4000 dollars problem. However, the drain-pro keet saying that it doesn't matter how you put the filter. Which I called all other companies they all say the filter needs to put all the way in. The company didn't take responsibility or reduce price to fix it. Only 50 dollars discount for 4000 dollars problem is really means they don't take us seriously. The manage said will let us know whether he can reduce more but never get back to us. I wish I never used them before now we are facing a financial crisis. read more

I DO NOT recommend this company for septic services. This company DOES NOT OPERATE IN GOOD FAITH and is not to be trusted. If you see something that doesn't seem right, you absolutely have to point it out to them. Make sure to have them "show" in their pump counter how many gallons they actually pumped. You can't trust what they write on the invoice. I used Drain-Pro Puyallup, in July 2019 to pump my septic tank due to the septic alarm sounding. Harts Services was the company that initially responded to the tank alarm and said that my septic tank would need to be pumped before they could troubleshoot further so they called Drain-Pro in Puyallup. The Drain-Pro receptionist said they did not have any appointments available until the following week but for an additional $200 they could come out the same day. I opted to wait until the following week. Two workers showed up the following week at 12:00 noon. I showed them the whereabouts of the septic tank and the drain fields were and they proceeded to dig in my back yard to expose the septic tank lid. I was surprised at how fast they dug and found the lid to the tank and pumped it out. I even made a comment as to how fast they finished and was told that they had already done 4 other septic tank pumping jobs that morning. I noticed that they didn't do a good job in cleaning after digging the hole though. The hole wasn't properly covered and there were rocks and dirt still scattered around the area where they dug. When the Hart's Services tech came back to continue his troubleshooting, he first pointed out the poor job of cleaning up at the dig site and then right away said that they didn't complete the job. He asked if they left an invoice so I gave it to him. He explained that my septic tank had a 2 compartments and a pump chamber and showed me where Drain-Pro charged me for pumping 2 compartments but only pumped one. He also pointed out that Drain-Pro only dug one hole and couldn't possibly have pumped a second compartment or the pump chamber. All 3 tank compartments should have been pumped out (the solid, liquid, and pump chamber). The Hart's tech also pointed out leakage from Drain-Pro's sewage hose that hadn't been cleaned up. It was very dishonest and fraudulent of Drain-Pro to take advantage of my limited knowledge of septic tanks and charge me for services that were not completed. The Harts Service person who showed me that I was billed for an incomplete job called Drain-Pro and described the poor and fraudulent job they charged me for. A Drain-Pro supervisor called me the next day, said it was all a big misunderstanding and that the first crew ran out of space in their truck's tank. Even if their truck really was full they still charged me for sewage that never made it to the truck and never said that someone would have to come back out to complete job. This makes me wonder if that first compartment was truly completely pumped out. The supervisor had no choice but to send another Drain-Pro person out to my house the following week to complete the job. I showed the new guy the invoice from the previous week and he confirmed that I was charged for services that weren't performed. He then called his supervisor to explain again that I had been charged for 100s of gallons of sewage that were never pumped from my septic tank. Since they were actually caught trying to cheat me, the supervisor allowed him to charge for less gallons than he actually pumped to sort of compensate me for their deceit and dishonesty. Although this Drain-Pro tech was more transparent and helpful than the previous ones, I cannot say that this company operates its business fairly and in good faith. Furthermore, I got no apologies from the supervisor and can't help but wonder how many other Drain-Pro customers have been cheated by paying for services not rendered. read more

I had Drain Pro come out about a year ago to "jet" my exit line out of my septic tank due to roots growing into it (their guess as to what the problem was). When they first came out, they sent a tech that was un-certified to work on the drain field because they have to be "SM" certified. So they charged me first hour rate for the tech to come out, then he left and they had to send out a different certified team at which point they charged first hour/higher rate again for them to jet my drain field. Now, one year later, I am having the exact same problem where my septic system backed up into my home. I decided to call Drain Pro again and talked to the account rep (Ricky) and discussed that I was having the same issue. We discussed them coming out last year and sending a SM certified crew to jet the drain field. I told him that it looks like it is having the same issue and the drain field/exit line needs to be jetted again to cut the roots growing into the pipe. They sent someone out a day later and AGAIN sent someone who is not certified to work on the drain field having known that was the issue previously and knowing that was probably the issue now. So again, they charged me first hour rate and the tech left after briefly digging up the septic tank and not addressing the problem and me having to pay him (for basically nothing). They told me the account rep would call first thing the next morning. He didn't. I had to call and follow up and he then argued with me about not knowing that they needed to send a SM tech out. When I finally got him to agree to second hour rate for the SM tech, he later called me back after some hours and told me they are all booked and essentially advised me to go somewhere else like they don't want to do the job. I have since called a few other places and they advised that the pipe is more than likely cracked and to be fixed correctly, it needs to be replaced. Otherwise I would just end up having to have someone come out and jet the pipe every 8 to 12 months like Drain Pro was trying to do and not get to the actual cause. I will never use Drain Pro again after the way I was treated and be charged way too much money for bad service and not addressing the problem. IF YOU KNOW THE ISSUE IS IN THE DRAIN FIELD, YOU SHOULD PROBABLY SEND OUT A TECH THAT IS CERTIFIED TO WORK IN THE DRAIN FIELD. Seems pretty logical to me, but hey, maybe I'm just not on board with their business plan of sending out multiple techs and getting paid multiple different times. read more

Had had very good experience with this firm before in December 2012. Then, we had had backed up sewage in house from full septic tank not draining into the rain soaked ground. Drain-Pro was able to come relatively quickly and did an outstanding job. Fast forward to tonight, March 2nd and morning of March 3rd. Same emergency, probably same cause. 4 calls from me, 4 calls from my wife from another landline at our house over the course of two or two and a half hours. Each time, we got an operator. At least three different operators . The idea is that the operators would send text messages to a dispatcher, who would contact a service person, who would call us back. In some of the calls to their main number, there some issues with connectivity to operators (calls dropped, as if Drain-Pro's main number was trying to connect with the operator's cell phone via Google Voice, with cell phone and operator not at a central location but at some random location somewhere in the Pacifc NW). Twice, I got a professional person named Mario. Communication with him and other operators was all perfectly pleasant. But the issue is that the operators had no power. All they could do is communicate with a dispatcher by text message and tell us that we would be called back. If we heard nothing, we were to call again in 20 minutes. We repeated this cycle, calling from alternate phone numbers, eventually tag teaming, so that we were calling the operators every 10-15 minutes. Two and a half hours, sewage on floor of house, not even one call back. Discourteous and disappointing. No fault to the operators, one of whom was great, one medium, one Seattle jaded/ "passive aggressive" (to my wife). Par for the course. But to have an emergency and call a company's emergency number for emergency service so many times and not get a single call back? Disappointing. Maybe it's the system, un-empowered customer service reps, the way communications or organized so that there was no ability to talk directly with anyone higher, etc. Maybe the whole company was having a bad night. But we are the ones left with sewage on the floor. Based on our experience tonight, if other possible customers have an emergency, I can't recommend this firm. read more

Called and asked them to come pump my tanks as well as do O&M as the house is being sold. They were there on time, performed the necessary tasks/tests, explained what they were doing and put the lids back on tight, and cleaned up the area. The office staff then submitted the necessary paperwork to the health department in a timely fashion. Would recommend company to others. read more
