Lack of knowledge and customer service was amazing. I know we all don't like working, but it was pretty damn obvious here.

I will start off by saying the employed staff was a nuisance to deal with! One employee in…read moreparticular made the whole experience of going to this establishment aggravating by talking down to not only me but my friends that were also shopping with me and other customers trying to just enjoy their hobby. He was going on and on about how Pokémon was for the kids however was gloating about how much money he spends a week on comics, magic, POKÉMON CARDS, etc.. Me who was only there to help support a friend on trying to find a specific issue of a comic was trying to be friendly and make small talk with the employee and explain to them that I was considering on grabbing One Piece cards since I am over 1000 episodes into the show. Immediately I was asked "are you going to play the game or are you only collecting them for pretty cards?" Then proceeding to be told that they advised me to not buy any since I wanted to collect them and didn't care to play the game. These type of people are ruining the collector community and driving people (like me) who aren't interested in scalping and actually want to get into a new hobby away from it. I will say there was another gentleman who actually went out of his way to help my buddy look for the comic book he was looking for and was extremely helpful! However I will never be stepping foot into this business ever again since it seems like they don't want my business and they were terrible to deal with.

They immediately offered to call the other location to check if they had the first 3 books in stock. Once they confirmed the other location had them they arraigned to ship to this location and added my name to a file so that when any of the newer comics in that series come out they will them aside for me. Overall outstanding customer service! They were super helpful and polite.

The shop is super well laid out and not cluttered and hard to shop, like a few other comic/collectible places we have been. As soon as we walked in, the attendants behind the register were so excited to welcome and help us find anything we needed. They came out to answer questions, and helped my husband find key issues he wanted (so we left with a lot of loot LOL) Aside from all the great comics, they also have collectibles, like plushies, Funkos, figurines etc. as well as a little spot for kids to play while their parents shop. They are called Legend Comics and COFFEE, and I was more interested in the coffee than the comics so I stopped in to the cafe while my husband perused everything. I got the Golden Caramel Latte, and it was extra delicious - not too sweet but still a little hint of the caramel to give you that sweet taste. My husband wanted to get a drink that was chocolatey, but without coffee. I asked the barista at the coffee shop if they had anything like that, and he actually made me something special on the spot. It was a frozen chocolate milk, and my husband went wild for it. I don't think it's on the menu, and was made impromptu, but you may be able to ask for that, if you want to try! There is a lot of seating at the cafe and also around the comic shop, including little benches, if you want to sit and pore over your potential purchases or if you're waiting for someone to finish shopping. Even though we spent way too much money here, I definitely recommend it if you're a comic collector/lover, as they have so many things to explore (both in comics and coffee) and you may find something new you love!

My husband and I have been to pretty much every comic book shop in Omaha on the search to complete…read moreour Wolverine collection, and this Dragon's Lair was one that had a few we were looking for! This is a bit more for the tabletop gamer, as that's a lot of what they have now, but they did have a good selection of comics, just put away more than the games that take a lot of the display area. The comics were there but were more in drawers, and they had cute comic characters of each alphabetical letter drawer (like Wolverine on the W drawer). Very clever idea! Another cool thing is that a lot of the decor they have around the store is dragon-themed, sticking with their name of the Dragon's Lair. They also didn't have as many figurines and pops as a few other comic shops we've been to (though they do have a handful). They more have the gaming dice, Warhammer figurines, and games like Settler's of Catan etc. The staff was more helpful at this location vs. the one out on 144th and Center, where they kind of act annoyed when you want to actually buy something and they have to ring you up LOL So If you're looking for a new game or interested in collecting Warhammer figurines, this would be great for you. If you're on the hunt for a certain comic book, they may have that too, but it's not the main focus anymore like I remember it being when I was a kid.
