Ok, let me preface this review by stating that one of the few things that I don't mind paying extra for is a proper hair cut. So guys, take it for what its worth if you are totally OK with going to Sports Clips. I've come to expect the person doing the job to take their time to figure out what's going on with your hair, especially first time around. I've also come to expect that the stylist introduce themselves to the new customer and actually seem to care about the person coming back as a return customer. I'm not asking for wine while I wait or a scalp massage, just an attentive stylist.
Just moving here, I was in search of a new place to get my haircut. During my time at Dragonfly, which feels somewhat cramped, I felt like I was completely rushed through my cut. Typically, my haircuts last about 1 hour-- I was out in 25 minutes. The stylist never introduced herself to me and more or less hacked at my hair- there was no real craft involved. She was about to let me leave when i noticed that my one side was completely uneven. She'd cut a little, and ask me if it was alright.. I kept thinking, "can't you tell yourself?" By the end of the cut, I was frustrated. She didn't even give me a card for me to come back.
I realize that there is a high degree of variability in stylists at any given salon, but I was thoroughly unimpressed with my service. Guys if you care what your hair looks like, you are seriously rolling the dice by going here. I can only hope that this is not par for the course in Pocatello. read more
