While other guests were around we felt like we were the only ones. Breakfast of fruit juice, coffee, fruit and the best local bakery blueberry muffins! Yum. We had a bountiful snack basket in our room with bottles of water. It's just a few blocks walk Perkins cove with the shops and eateries. They are very conscious of the risk of covid and properly sanitized. During a time when travel can be more scary than fun, they take your concerns away. We felt safe and their property is impeccable.

We arrived well after midnight on our check in day due to flight changes, and both Robert and Marsha were awake and waiting, ready to greet their weary late night travelers. After a quick tour, it was off to bed, only to be greeted by a gorgeous (and recently renovated) bedroom and private bath. (So nice, in fact, that family members almost cancelled their reservations at a nearby hotel). We were here for a wedding and became known as the "Party Couple" since we were flirting about, to and from receptions and the ceremony, and Robert and Marsha were more than accommodating at every opportunity. Plus, the house is less than a half mile from downtown (one direction) and Perkins Cove (the other direction). Takes literally minutes to walk to 3+ restaurants for Lobster Rolls (our favorite was Barnacle Billy's but Robert recommends Footbridge). When we left, we had a late flight and had experienced trouble getting Lyft and Uber in the area. Robert personally volunteered to drive us to Portland, ME for our flight so that we didn't miss our travel plans. I cannot rave enough about this gem in Ogunguit. Honestly, I thought about NOT reviewing it in an attempt to keep this gem hidden, but our hosts and stay were just too positive not to share. If you end up booking, tell them the party couple from Colorado sent ya!

All of our favorite places in Ogunquit are within a short walking distance including the Front Porch, Marginal Way, Backyard Coffee and Perkins Cove.

Mooring Stone takes it name from a large stone in the front yard, the kind they would sink to the bottom of the port with a tree through it so boats could tie up...hence, mooring stone. Anywho... The house is a cute little gingerbread number, clean rooms, quiet, and far enough from the strip of shops and eateries in Rockport that you feel like you're in another town (even though it's just a couple of blocks away). The breakfast part of the equation is served in a salvaged coast guard radio instrument house in the back yard in the middle of a beautiful garden. What really makes the Mooring Stone stand out for me is the proprietor, Joyce. My wife and I hit it off with her within about two minutes of meeting her. She's a veritable fount of information about the area and can point tourists like us in the right direction. Moreover, we had so much fun chatting with her that we ended up spending almost two hours with her at breakfast (followed by a trip with her over to her house on the water at the port to see her renovation project). Sounds crazy, but we had more fun hanging out with her and talking about old New England houses than walking around town. I'm hoping that for our next trip to Boston we eschew staying in town and head back to visit this inn.

They don't offer a full breakfast, but they have coffee and tea and muffins in one of the rooms downstairs. Lisa is friendly, hilarious, and very helpful with suggestions/information on what to do in Gloucester, but still gives you enough space to do your own thing. It's about a 15 min. walk to downtown/Main St, and it's a nice walk along the water (lined with millions of American flags, which is pretty hilarious; or maybe pretty and hilarious). It is right along whatever that main road is, which has pretty heavy traffic in the summer (lots of loud motorcycles), so it was a bit loud at times-though we had our windows open the whole time to get the full 'ocean air' effect.

There is a nice little flatscreen TV. The beds were nice for sure, but too firm for us. We really enjoyed our stay here. There are plenty of businesses close by as well, and beaches a mile or two away. And the owners provide a list of "local favorites".

There's an emergency bathroom on the boat but a better bathroom to use is at the marina and he's able to make stops. Let him know before you get on if you want to swim and he'll take you to a great swimming spot. I use a floaty in the water because I get nervous and it was fine. The boat fits comfortably four adult guests and five if one guest is a child. The boat ride was quite relaxing. We stayed in the river and only ventured into Saco Bay once Captain Joe determined it was going to be a comfortable for everyone.

The place is cozy & spotless and the hosts, Charles & David, are so friendly and accomodating, a place one can call their own quiet haven along the Maine Coast. The bed is surrounded by beautiful windows that give you great light throughout the day and with the shades, good sleep too. Bathroom is newly updated and very clean. The room is right next to the main entrance which I was a tiny bit worried about but it didn't bother us one bit. The breakfast room is large and open all day. It's not a hot breakfast but they offer things like fruit, yogurt, scones, etc. They put out snacks and baked goods for you to enjoy after breakfast and the coffee/tea bar is open all day too! The property itself is impeccably manicured with beautiful landscaping. There's a hammock next to a cute tiny pond and lilacs everywhere which is amazingly fragrant during May. The porch is lovely and I'd sit out there all day if I could. Great spot for remote work too. Overall, great stay and I will return for sure!

We were fortunate to have been able to book the same room Neptuen, (Lower level, in the back, right next to the hot tub) we were surprised to see that the room had been enlarged. The room has its own private entrance, private bath and a king sized bed. Add in a nice couch and a few chairs, it's a good sized room for the price. The grounds are well kept, and the Inn is just a short 2 minute walk from the center of town. Rick, one of the Innkeepers was always around to give great suggestions for restaurants, or things to do, not to mention, his scones that he makes daily for breakfast are delicious. It's a great place that's right off of Main St, but it's a great place that's pretty quiet. They offer complimentary WiFi, and parking. Hopefully, it won't take us another 19 years to go back to Ogunquit, it was a relaxing 4 days that were used to de-stress. Rick & Bill.

It was a medical emergency, not a sudden change of mind. So this "luxury" hotel doesn't give you the courtesy of a call back. Also the spa is not onsite, they have a hot tub. False advertising. I'm shocked by the lack of professionalism and utter disregard for respect. But as long as they get your money, this greedy hotel is content.

However, if you're like me, and you want a full vacation experience and hotel with a lobby and some amenities, with a pool, private balcony, a room with a beach view, and a fun experience hanging out in the room on a rainy day, or relaxing at night with wine and cheese, just know this is a simple little place and not all rooms are spacious and have views - you will have to make sure you reserve one of the larger rooms with a view. And the hotel is all about location, not frills. We made our plans late and got a garden level room, which was clean and had a comfortable bed, but, well, it's a garden level room with no view, facing a parking lot, with ultra low ceilings and was kind of cramped. Still, it had a nicely redone newer bathroom and shower, a functional air conditioner and it was convenient that there was a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven (for slices) and a sink for dishes etc so you don't have to fill up your coffee maker with water from the bathroom sink lol! We got lucky and had beautiful beach weather for every day of our stay so we just used the room to shower and sleep and spent time at the beach, walking Marginal Way, exploring Perkins Cove, shopping, trying different restaurants and having ice cream at night on one of the many public benches for people watching. This hotel does have a pretty lawn with some tables and chairs for all guests to use and that was nice in the morning with coffee. But if you reserve and get a garden level room, I wouldn't recommend that in the off season, or if you are unlucky and get rainy weather.

We enjoyed the fire pit out front, which we relaxed by each evening, and Susanne sat & chatted with one evening in the sitting room as we sat with drinks & played a board game ( Susanne is a gem and we both adored her).
