I was greeted upon entering at the front desk and I explained that I wanted to be sure they had the ring I needed and the issues I was having, they confirmed they had it then showed me the jewelry options. I picked the size ring I wanted and filled out my paperwork and paid and I was taken back right away. I had some scar tissue as I've been repierced before so she moved the spot slightly, explained what she was doing and got to it. It was very quick and painless. The shop is clean and open. My piercer, Ray was very sweet, professional, knowledgable and quick. I don't know if I spent a full 20 minutes in there from start to finish and I wasn't rushed at all. I was really missing my nose piercing and am so happy to have it back, with a more secure ring and at a size I love. I've been going to Dragon Moon Tattoo Studio for 20 years for a number of reasons. First is the quality of the work. Tom and Mick Beasley are consummate artists and award winning tattooists. They can tattoo a design to your specifications or create an original design based on an idea of what you want. The studio itself is a great place for a session; clean and well lit with a tasteful ambiance and professional, accommodating staff. Tom's attention to detail on line work and shading is the finest, be it individual vanes of a feather, strands of hair on a horse's mane, or the musculature of a crucifix. On the other hand he can ink a sweeping vista reminiscent of Japanese wood-cut Masters Hiroshige or Kuniyoshi. While being inked by Tom I've spent hours being entertained by his stories and experiences in the business, he's a great raconteur, all the while listening to a soundtrack of classic blues wafting in the background. The studio itself also sets a high standard for a healthy and sterile environment, and informing clients on needed after-care requirements. Lastly, as the old saying goes, 'you get what you pay for' and for my money Dragon Moon Tattoo Studio is simply the best. Comparing my tats to others, I've never considered patronizing anyone else. I went in to get my second tattoo with Tom. I wanted to get Guanyin on my arm and needed an artist who was experienced with realism and also had a feel for the culture. He was very focused but relaxing to be around. I didn't feel pressured to talk the whole time. Really awesome guy! The shop itself is very clean and the other people working there are goofy! While we tried to decide on the pieces we wanted we asked questions and joked with the people who worked there. The atmosphere was very welcoming and laid back, like a tattoo and piercing place should be. Often times when you walk into a shop you get the feeling that you've barged into a club house uninvited. My friend and I didn't get that vibe at all. Nothing's worse than getting a tattoo and piercing by a mean person in an uncomfortable and awkward establishment.
