One of our favorite dinners during our two week trip. Didn't have a reservation so approached the maitre 'd with some trepidation. He welcomed us warmly and sat us outside in the covered patio. Great spot for nice wines--huge selection--and terrific food. Tapas-sized plates make it possible to try multiple dishes. The 'menu' is a great bargain, with two choices: a vin blanc and a vin rouge. Ironically, wine is not included, but the names correspond to the wine variety that would typically be enjoyed with the menu (basically one is seafood-centric; the other is meat-centric). My husband and I shared a vin blanc menu and three individually-chosen selections. All delicious. Especially enjoyed the escargot (à la carte). For dessert, shared the chocolate fondant with ice cream that came with the 'menu'. Service was good--we felt lucky to get a table on a Friday night with no reservations--but both service and ambiance were disrupted by a massively loud group that was dining two tables away from us. Really loud...even sang (shouted) a singsong chant, complete with synchronous clapping. Twice. The first time, people thought it was amusing, and some even clapped; the second time, no one was amused. We had two great meals here on our trip to Dijon. Our lunch was great, and we decided to come back for dinner the same day. The menus were different, and the food was excellent. I tried steak tartare for the first time. I was surprised that I liked it. Simon was outstanding in pairing wines with our small plates! The service was friendly! We wandered by after visiting Les Halles and happily they were able to fit us in for lunch. If you plan on eating here definitely make reservations. My husband had the poached egg starter and I had the terrine. For the main I had the flank steak and my husband had the Pot de boeuff. The website does not reflect the current lunch menu, so I am not using the proper names of the dishes. Service was excellent, food was excellent, wine was excellent. The only confusion I had is the wine was sold by the glass or carafe (60 ml) so they opened a bottle at the table and poured it into a carafe, leaving the other 15 ml in the bottle-why not just sell the bottle? read more

Go to this place and don't look back. Plates are small but absolutely superb and not overly engineered or stuffy and each have a bit of perspective. This lays the foundation for absolutely stunning by the glass wine pairings suggested by the staff. This was probably the best wine and food pairings I've ever had and for 2 ppl, 3 glasses of very nice wine digestif the bill only came out to 120 euro. read more

One of the best meals I've had in France ever. The escargot was my favorite and I only tried them because they were a local favorite. Wonderful wine and dining experience in the heart of Dijon. Simple affordable fair presented elegantly by a friendly and informative staff. We started with the sampler of meats and cheeses and special of the day. Next a mini burger and beef bourguignon. Finishing it off with an excellent desert. Terrific wine. Great location for people watching. Friendly staff. This is a great place for a small bite and to spend the afternoon.

I had done some research on this place was looking forward to tasting some great wines, however. Upon arrival we were informed that someone had booked the kitchen for the night but we could have some wine. No problem - here for the wine. We were seated and the waiter then took about 5 minutes to produce a wine list. He was very short and offers little insight or suggestions. We looked over the list and then looked it over again. We then looked it over some more because there was nobody to order from. Now we are about 10 minute into the place and our waiter was jaw jacking at the bar (part of the restaurant they didn't want us coming into) with 4 other servers. All said there may have been 3 other people there and they still had the menu signs out side. Given that the menu was still outside, I wasn't convinced someone had booked out the kitchen. Maybe they were coming later? Whatever the case maybe, they seemed to have lots of time to talk to themselves rather than serving customers. We opted to use the wine store a couple doors down and we were helped by an extremely friendly guy. read more

Food was decent but service was terrible. We said no ham on the salad and they brought it with the ham. Then they took it back and brought another one....which we found pieces of ham in it again! The desert though was the best. Very extensive wine menu too. read more

This was one of the only places open in town when we arrived at the train station at 10:00 PM, not having eaten in hours, and it was so good that we went right back on our second night. Even the meat and cheese charcuterie boards are incredibly filling. The wine selection is extensive, and the small plates for dinner were very good, if on the odd side of creative fusion. read more
