Thanks to Computer Elfs for 2 weeks of hard work getting my desktop up and running again. Started…read morewith a days worth of "blue screens of death" a week ago last wednesday. After trying to fix remotely, they were here right away to fix onsite. Computer worked fine till the following Monday, then started again. They took computer offsite, to reinstall Windows, which I wanted to avoid at all costs, as that normally costs me a week of downtime reinstalling or configuring all my software, settings etc. In fact, when support people have suggested I do that over the last 30 years, I usuall hang up on them. Turned out to be a bad motherboard and memory. Very impressed with Computer Elfs for these things: 1. Even though we're clearly NOT their only client, you're always treated that way. 2. They handled the warranty service with Dell, ordered the parts, made the appointment, met with Dell, got the service handled and made sure the computer was working properly. 3. Even though Windows had to be reloaded, they took extra pains to copy every possible setting, file, document and configuration possible so it literally took me less than 15 minutes to get my machine back to where it was before it crashed. Admittedly, we run new equipment, we update regularly, we keep Computer Elfs on retainer to do their thing, and we treat our computers like cars that are well taken care of but Computer Elfs are like that neighborhood mechanic that was always there when your car would inevitably, no matter how much love you showed it, always break down. If you're self employed, you can't have a better IT company in your tecchie corner.
