UPDATE! I left a review on August 17, 2023, about how Dr. Muenter refused to take responsibility for a crown that was too tight....and, that he refused to remove it. Guess what! I swear this is true! Almost two years and $7500 later, I am now finished with INVISALIGN....caused by the tight crown pushing my teeth to the side such that one of my front teeth was slightly overlapping the other. Just Saying!!!!!! P.S. It says I live in Palm Desert.....haven't lived there in 5 years....otherwise, I would have gone to my wonderful dentist there. Had a filling replaced and it didn't seem right afterwards so I called and Dr M got me back in and said it was chipped. Huh? It was a week old. He putting a faulty filling? How's that? Never happened before. Anyhow, he re-did it. Still hurt. Went back in they took X-rays and there was no infection just use a water pik and peroxide. Told me it was because I had such bad gingivitis which I was never informed of ever before. I didn't. This didn't work. Called and they said since my insurance was changing in 3 weeks they wouldn't be able to get me in but did I want to pay for a new plan with him? I said no, so they didn't get me back in just gave me antibiotics which did zero. Finally went to a new dentist and by then the nerve was dying and I had an infection in the root and needed a root canal. It was because I waited too long and the tooth was allowed to get infected without treatment. Now I have to pay for root canal and the original filling he did. It could have avoided had he done a good job on the filling in the beginning and not chipped it. Very dismissive too. I would be wary. read more

Wow. I read bad reviews. This office lives up to every one. Buyer beware. I went through two visits. What a fool am I. The worst dental visits and cleanings I have ever had. Then, when you want to leave? 20 bucks to get your records sent to someone else. 20 bucks well spent to get away from the worst dental office and dentist I have ever seen. Our DDS retired and the new one would not accept our insurance. Next closest DDS for us was Dr.Muenter and I couldn't have been happier. The front office gal is outstanding, she has your insurance coverage and costs before you even leave the office - awesome. Chair side gals know their stuff and are very efficient. Dr. Muenter is cordial and professional combined. I appreciate that he told me what he was working on and how much longer the procedure might take (I had three (old) crowns replaced). Let's get straight to the point. Stanley Muenter rushes through exams and routine cleanings. Hardly says a word. During my cleaning he hurried through it and nicked my gums multiple times and after getting home noticed he missed a few spots because of his rushed careless work. It's unfortunate because his staff are nice and friendly. Don't waste your time here if you want mediocre dental work and someone who doesn't seem to care about the job he is doing. I have been going to this dentist for a few years. After my initial visit I didn't return for quite some time mainly due to Dr. Muenter's bedside manner. He was very cold and not welcoming. This is unfortunate because his staff is AMAZING. Everyone else who works in his office from the front desk to the dental assistants are very nice and personable. I have a dental DMO so my dentist choices are VERY limited. I believe he is the only dentist in Atascadero which is why I stay. I figure cleanings and my other needs are worth it. Besides when I'm There it's not like I can have a conversation as my mouth is usually being serviced, so I stay with this dentist. I will say over the years that I've been there the Dentist's bedside manner has improved slightly. Bottom line is if you want a friend don't go here but if you just need to get your dental needs met Dr. Muenter's office will get the job done. read more

When scheduling my initial appointment I was impressed with the front desk ladies professional attitude. When I showed up, the same lady had the same demeanor as before although this time, she had an older lady sitting behind her nagging. I listened to her speak rudely to the lady for a few minutes and was soon called back where I would meet Dr. M. This gentleman is lacking. Not just in bedside manner but also in personality. He did not make eye contact with me once and he did not shake my hand. He made me so uncomfortable I almost got up and left before letting him touch me but I stuck it out. After the exam, Instead of speaking to me, he spoke to the cupboards above my head, wrote a prescription and walked out. I walked out of the exam room where the kind Hispanic looking lady was and she began asking for a return date to begin my dental work. I tried to tell her that I would call back with a date in mind but she was adamant I schedule then. So I did so, knowing I wouldn't be returning. I later received the bill for my "no show" appointment and will gladly pay it knowing they will be out of my mind soon! Although this experience is from September 2015 I everyone to be aware. And remind people that it's okay to "Shop Around" and that afterall, they work for YOU. read more

I can't give high enough ratings for my experience with Dr. Muenter and his office. He gave me excellent care! The office treated me like a friend and worked very hard to accommodate my schedule. My first experience with this dentist was several years ago. I had a root canal done. Horrible experience. They let the liquids fill up at the back of my throat, thinking that it was water, I swallowed,it burned badly and I about jumped out of the chair. They told me I shouldn't have done that because it was a type of acidic material...ummm...the dental assistant was just sitting there and she didn't use the suction tool because why?? He finished up and stuck the temporary filling in, took an xray and saw that he missed a part that needed to be removed. He was in a hurry as it was almost his lunch. He was working fast and impatiently. He stuck the temporary filling in again, took the xray and says ok I got the last part out this time,but a little piece of the file broke off in there. It will be fine, though. It's not going to rust or anything because it's medical grade stainless steel. He didn't even wait for a response and I was sitting there with the gauze in my mouth just in shock and he grabbed his lunch bag and left!! Worst dentist EVER!! Last year I was stuck with horrible dental insurance and of course he was the provider on my insurance. I showed up just for a basic cleaning,because I will never have him work on my teeth again and as soon as the receptionist unlocked the door at 8 am she says she will have to reschedule me because they do not allow children in their office. I had my 7 year old son with me. He's been to my other dentist with me just fine,he sits quietly on his ipad and doesn't bother anybody. Needless to say, I will never be there again read more

The Doctor himself is pretty good. He's professional, friendly, and provides exceptional dentistry. Don't ask him for any favors though. I've been a patient of his now for about 4 years and the office staff is generally what brings the 5 star potential down to a 3. Initially, they treated me and a friend like garbage on the phone. For the first year or so, I hesitated to call the office afraid of how I would be treated. Later down the line, the newer office staff is more friendly, but seemingly clueless and there are usually billing inconsistencies with my insurance. This industry is so RIDICULOUSLY expensive and competitive, you'd think they would "incentify" there returning patients (customers) with great service and maybe a discount here or there, but, no. The only reason I stay is because I don't want to endure the process of re-establishing myself as a new patient elsewhere. read more
