I visited dr 3 times, with the same set of questions each time. None was answered on ANY of my visits. Very poor patient relations. She discarded my 90-day CGM printouts because 6 of the 90 days were on an insulin pump; the remaining 84 were on Tresiba. She said the results were invalid because of the 6 days on the insulin pump. She also didn't know that my diabetes drug, came in a 100-U dosing pen. She argued with me over this. Also got sick because she changed my GERD meds without contacting GI doc. I've had Type I DM for 35 years, with no microvascular or other complications. I feel that I'm obviously doing something right. This doc only found ways to put me down and feel stupid, rather than lift me up for any level of good care I've taken for myself. On my last visit she got up and walked out because she said I was taking too much of her time. Yet, she still didn't answer my questions. If you want a doctor that keeps her head in the computer for an incredibly long time to look up incorrect things from your last visit (which I've tried to correct on both of my follow-up visits), avoids looking directly at you, and avoids your questions with lackluster comments , this is the doc for you. If you want a professional that really cares, go somewhere else. read more

Wow, if you value your life and need diabetes monitoring, run and run fast the office is very disorganize. I have called now at least three time with no return call. secondly, I went in and they gave me the wrong supplies third they put me on victosa . they told me it last for 30 days at 1.2,the math says 15 days and not 30. I am leaving town in two days with not enough med to cover my vacation. I am waiting on approval from insurance to buy it. if you can, find another office that know how to listen and take care of you. your life is to precious for you to give them opportunity to screw it up. read more

Don't waste your time with this office!!!!! First off they didn't have my app't in their books, so I had to reschedule. Without asking any questions or listening, Dr Gillar pointed out the medication I have been taking for 40 years for my migraines, and chided me for not trying the newer ones or seeing a neurologist (without asking me first if in fact I had . In fact I had gone through the whole attempt to find another medication but only one worked for me. ) Then she told me that she won't take the risk to prescribe this for me, I will have to go somewhere else to get the med. She was most unprofessional and defensive right out of the gate. i got the impression that unless you were an easy " case" she didn't want to put out the effort.We didn't even finish the initial consult, I left. read more

Saw Dr Gillar twice in December. At first visit, she appeared knowledgeable but was unreceptive to questions and unfriendly. On second visit, started friendlier but when asked questions or for explanations, became somewhat angry, opened exam room door and told me I should find another doctor. Very unprofessional! Patients should be encouraged to ask questions. read more

I have had a great experience with Dr. Gillar and her staff. The office workers are very friendly and polite. They are very efficient and answer the phone right away when I call to schedule and appt. Dr. Gillar is the best medical doctor that I have seen in the USA. I really like her holistic approach to treatment. She checks vitamin levels to rule out simple deficiency that could be a root cause to symptoms. She is extremely thorough. I have recommended her to several people including my husband and daughter. She found that my husband was pre-diabetic, which is so helpful to know so that we can make lifestyle changes to stop the progression of it getting worse. With endocrinology issues, don't think she can fix you with one visit. It could take months to correct some issues. Be prepared for long-term treatment with her. read more

Best doc around for sure. Although she's my endocrinologist, she handles my internal medicine issues as well. I always feel that she has my best interest at heart. Had terrible allergy issues this year and she helped me a lot! She continues to carefully monitor my thyroid levels since I have a history of thyroid cancer. I love Dr. Gillar she is one of the best Dr.'s that I have. I originally had gone to another Endocrinologist and since I only saw her one month a year, felt browbeaten from one of her colleagues and that didn't make my Diabetes better only worse. And too so often what happens is that the Dr. has too many patients, so therefore you get lost in the crowd. I first went to see Dr. Nacol, who is a great Dr. also, I was looking for a new Internal Medicine Doctor and a new Endocrinologist and this office has both. Dr. Gillar started me out with new medications, took me off of Insulin and put me on something better to even out my Diabetes. I'm doing so much better now!! if you want a good Doctor, don't mind driving to Georgetown, than this is the place to go!! I myself drive in from Lago Vista, but it is worth the drive!! read more

I called Dr. Gillar's office to make an appointment and provided my insurance info at that time. On the day of my appointment the receptionist took my ID, insurance card, and co-pay. I met with Dr. Gillar who I found to be rude and dismissive of any concern I voiced on my condition. She made it clear that she was the educated physician and that I had no knowledge and was wasting her time with questions. I left knowing I would not return. A few weeks later I received a statement for the full cost of the visit and a note that they did not accept my insurance. I promptly called their office and spoke with a staff member who indicated she would handle the problem. After several more statements in the mail with the last threatening collection, I wrote a letter to Dr. Gillar informing her that I would not be paying her invoice. I am now waiting to see if they send the bill out to be collected by an agency. Never, ever going back. read more

Would NOT recommend this DR. I have struggled with issues and was told by a friend to visit her. I laid out all the details of my visit which needed blood work drawn in order to address my problems. I went into great detail about what I needed to fix and she checked off all the boxes needed on the form. I do the blood draw and go to my follow up visit to discuss, which I knew would be $60. One of the main issues I wanted to get resolved was not checked on the paperwork and she said "oh I guess I overlooked that when we talked". I even had my husband with me on my follow-up visit and he was there to confirm my specific request and heard her say this. So I had to do another blood draw - pending the results and waited to get a follow-up call. Her office said I had to come in despite it being her mistake to check the right box. I told them her error does not require me to pay another $60 office visit. The front office and the office manager are a joke. They said I had to take up the issue with the DR on my 2 follow-up visit. I explained to the DR that I felt cheated out of $60 because of her mistake and would not pay the $60 again. So get this - she said she did not make a mistake - are you kidding me....I heard you say it and my husband heard you say "oh I guess I overlooked that when we talked"....she is a scammer in my book. I filed an appeal with my insurance - but of course they sided with the DR. I did not hold my breath on that one - Insurance is Red Tape War every time. Spend your copay somewhere else! Maybe the doctor would be somewhat organized if she had a better medical assistant. Dr, Gillar can't remember what medications she changed at my previous appointment and asks me! It should be written in my chart!!! Her medical assistant Crystal doesn't call with results and never returns phone calls. If you like communication pertaining to your health find another Doctor. read more
