If I could give my experience 0 stars, I would. I have been going to Dr. Cao for about 4 years and never had any issues, except this time the issue was cause for concern. I went in because for about 2 weeks I had been experiencing pain on my right side, near my kidney. My pain only got worse, so I decided to get checked by Dr. Cao. I initially called the office to set up a urine analysis, and was told they were performed on site, so I was expecting this to be the first test she would take in order to properly diagnose my pain. When I finally spoke with the Doctor she asked about my Gynecologist and then swiftly told me I would be having a few tests taken. She took me into a room where a man I had never seen before told me to take my pants off so that he could proceed with a circulation test. I didn't question the test because I thought this all had to do with my back pain. I was then taken into another room for an EKG. Once again I was confused as to why I needed an EKG for back pain, but didn't question such. I was now told there would be one final test performed, a lung capacity test. This is when I had reached my limit. I asked what these tests had to do with my back pain and the fact that my kidney felt inflamed, the nurse stated she had no idea I was suffering from such and the doctor had never ordered a urine analysis. By this time Dr. Cao had slipped out of the office, leaving me behind with two technicians who had no idea what my original purpose for this visit was. I have never cried of frustration before, but today was the day. The doctor was called and simply shrugged off my pain and stated she would be sending a prescription for antibiotics to my local pharmacy, and to come back the next day for blood work. I immediately rejected the offer because I wasn't sure I even needed the medication, let alone was there even an exam to prove that I had any sort of infection. I left in pain and more confused and frustrated than when I had arrived. Shortly after I decided to go to City MD to have a full review of my symptoms. It turns out I was suffering from muscle spasms and needed no such medication, just ibuprofen to help with the swelling and discomfort. Not only was her answer to my issue incompetent, but I am pretty sure this is considered direct malpractice. I have already filed a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau and my insurance company is investigating Dr. Ning Cao for fraud. I hope this review can help anyone who might have had a similar encounter with this doctor, or can prevent this from ever happening again. read more
