Went in here in February 2020 (pre-pandemic) with a teen for her first purchase of Dr Martens, and it was one of those remarkable retail experiences you remember fondly. Personally helped by the store manager, we started the visit by mentioning this was her first pair of Dr. Martens, and that was all it took. The manager gave her an overview of the fit and high points of the different styles (traditional vs. new models) and treated her like the only customer in the place. The Seattle store is centrally located downtown near Pike Market, and has a fairly wide selection of Docs. Wish I could recall the managers name, but he was thoughtful and patient. It was about as good of a first purchase experience with a brand as you could have. All we can say is thanks. I had a pair myself back in the day, so feeling nostalgic at this purchase, and if you can believe it, she bought her Docs to complete an outfit for school debate try outs --style points for sure!

Broken zipper after 8 wears. Was told "that's what our zippers do"

What a joke! I will never step foot in this store again nor buy Dr. Martens again - not only because of what happen today - the staff was very rude! Man and women (blond wearing all orange) behind counter. I show them the broken zipper on my shoes (worn 8x NO sign of wear on the shoes) and both their response "oh well our zippers do that", with the blonde giving a sucks to be you look while saying it. Well you sure didn't tell me that when I bought them! My only option AND I HAVE A RECEIPT is exchange, NO store credit. Well that really sucks when you want NO style they currently have. So I settle on a pair of tennis shoes, oh sorry the guy says you have to spend the same or more. Okay so I need to spend $60 more dollars, I get a belt, now $5.96 left to spend. I said keep it I'm not worried about $5. He refused, it has to come to zero or more, so I waste money on shoe laces and pay another $1. There is NO reason I could not have been given store credit. I would still buy your product but when it would be convenient and what I wanted. Instead I settle on something I don't want and now will never buy your products again. You have lost a customer for good, and don't mind that I spent $500 back in November because I didn't buy 1 pair of shoes I bought 4! I will be contacting headquarters as well.

We bought two new pairs of Docs here the other day. It was my 2nd pair and my boyfriends first pair. Blair helped us and she was amazing. She was personable, helpful and really knowledgeable. I work in retail management and if I lived & worked in Seattle, I'd hire her!

Just a heads up, there's not really any parking close to the area. That's kinda of a Seattle ding, not Dr Marten's fault. With that aside I went into today to try some pairs I saw online to decide which to get and I was greatly helped by staff not only getting those pairs to try, but also deciding which ones to get. They definitely went above and beyond. Also +++ points for having almost each pair I was looking for. I was planning on buying online, but they were so helpful that I just decided to buy them there and then. Definitely will be coming back to this store to get more pairs over time and do prefer this experience over online anyway.

Bought my Docs for my 40th! Bought my husbands Docs for his 50th! Now we just need our son here for his 20th :)

When she had to go on her lunch, Rachel checked me out and was also super helpful and recommended the best wax to keep my new shoes waterproof.

Bought some items online…read more Disappointed with my first online purchase from likelihood. Ordered adidas samba's and a stussy tee. Somehow domestic standard shipping came out to $35? I hope everything goes well! Package came in, and realized that the tee wasn't in there. It was later noted that my tee would be coming in later on the physical receipt, with no tracking number... Ok that's fine. Open the shoe box, and samba's are a tried on pair with dirty insoles, retied laces, no paper and creasing. That's not cool, I'm paying full retail price for a new pair. Receipt says final sale on full retail priced items. Was not notified during check out online. Customer care replied saying that the reason why domestic shipping is so expensive is because they have to ship from another likelihood store. So I'm paying double shipping? Why was I not told about this? Final sale was because I used a 10% code. Again, was NOT notified online. They did not want to at LEAST give me a partial refund for the samba's, and said they would waive the final sale so that I could return them. After all that terrible service, I would even have to pay for shipping to return a dirty pair of shoes. Disappointing. The worst customer service I've had to deal with. Sad. Will never come back here again. EDIT: the owner, Daniel, reached out and gave me a full refund as well as a gift card. He was very polite and understanding. Thank you Daniel!

I had a truly terrible experience at this store that still bothers me to this day…read more I liked this store because it was basically on my doorstep, and it had a good selection of cards. After patronizing this place for a while, I was asked not to come back to this store. Naturally I was curious as to why they would do this to a repeat customer. I was told that I had made an employee uncomfortable- by flirting with them!! I was gobsmacked as to why anyone would think that. I'm a talker- I talk to everyone I meet the same way, but this person thought I was flirting with them. Perhaps they have too much main character energy to think that. Perhaps they found my chattiness annoying- not everyone is going to be delighted by me- but why, WHY would they not just tell me they were busy and couldn't talk? Did they feel they were being held hostage? I saw Standard Goods as a neighborhood spot. Keep in mind I wasn't camping out at the store; I'd say my average visit was -20 minutes, and I wasn't there frequently. This just doesn't make any sense to me. I'm forced to consider the possibility they felt ill at ease around me due to my disablity- I'm legally blind and my eyes look different, some people aren't comfortable with that that's their problem. Even if that's not the case, it still really hurt when they asked me not to come back. What is this, high school? Yes, I cried. They made me feel like my presence was a nuisanc. It left an impact. question whether people want me around. There were so many other ways they could have dealt with it and at the same time keep in mind that I was a customer with feelings. I get the distinct sense that they don't care about customers or the community. It's good for managers to take their employees' concerns seriously- Just not like this. Maybe they are extremely nonconfrontational, yet there must have been another way to addrss this without banning me from the store.
