I went to the location in Manhattan Beach Thursday, March 28, and the lady at the front desk charged my card without my authorization for a service that was not provided. I went in for PRF in my undereyes and the front desk lady, I think her name is Lauren, told me that the nurse can fill my lips with PRF. I agreed for the additional price of $100. When the nurse came in to the room, she said she could not inject my lips because she wasnt trained to do it. Lauren ran my card and came in for me to sign the machine but I told her I was not getting the procedure since they couldn't perform it so I didnt need to pay. She said "I ran the card already I need your signature" then left the room and said we'd talk about it afterwards. After my procedure, I came to the front desk and she said I would hear from her manager for my refund. It has been 3 weeks and no refund. AND my main concern is that she somehow processed my card payment WITHOUT my signature and WITHOUT my permission. I emailed their dr.laser info contact before posting this review hoping to fix the problem, and they have yet to refund me due to needing an "accounting review". The front desk lady is the one that needs to be "reviewed" for thinking this is ok to do. Will not be returning, which makes me a little sad because I will miss Zhaneta's happy positive personality and facials! read more

I waited 20 minutes for my last appointment, and when the nurse came in, she told me she didn't know I was there waiting. At the end, she said "ok see you in 6 weeks. " .. if she'd bothered to look at my chart, she would have seen it was my last appointment. The place is fine overall. But there are better out there. The LHR works, though it is an investment and takes lots of sessions (face it, there's no magic "one and done"treatment out there)...the 10-pack is the best value when they have a sale. The nurses are very professional and make you feel at ease for what can be an awkward treatment for guys. Zhaneta is awesome for ULTherapy and cool sculpt. I went in last Friday for the last session of laser hair removal on my lower legs. The nurse asked me if I had any tattoos on my legs and I indicated that I had a little geometrical cat on my lower left ankle. As she was going around my left ankle, I jolted up because of the pain and noticed she went right over my tattoo. I didn't think much of it at first because I didn't realize it was going to completely ruin the ink in my tattoo. The last nurse I had before her ensured she put an applicator over my tattoo so it wouldn't get damaged. About 1-2 hours after leaving my appointment I noticed a raised bump almost like a blister forming and realized that I had been burned. Now it's day 5 and my tattoo looks completely ruined. I have been coming to Dr. Laser in Manhattan Beach for several years always a great experience. The manager Lauren is amazing. She is kind, welcoming, and keeps everything running seamlessly. She is a huge asset for this location. The reason I came to Dr. Laser initially was for hair removal which was very successful, not having to shave my legs is amazing. I have also had other treatments as well with Zhanetta, she is amazing. I cannot say enough about how Zhanetta ensures clients get the most out of every treatment they get. The worst customer service ever. My mom and I have had issues after issues with this location all the time. For one, I'm tired of always trying to be up-sold on services. It gets exhausting. Secondly, I don't know how many times I've been cancelled on AND when I reschedule they "forget" to actually schedule me. Sometimes I call and I won't get any answer and when I'm lucky enough to, they're so rude. They're rude in person and over the phone. Today for example, my mom went in for her facials and they called her 30 mins before her appt to cancel. Unfortunately for us, sometimes it's a 45 minute commute there. She had her phone on do not disturb and arrived only to be told.. "We'll didn't you get our message?" No apologies or anything to try and reconcile/compensate. She tried asking for a refund or to speak to a manager and apparently "no manager on site" and she has to email for any type of refund. God forbid I try to reschedule 23 hours prior or it's a late charge fee but if they cancel on us or don't schedule us, it's no big deal we'll just reschedule you. Never plan to get any services here again. Would rather pay more for better service and results. Waste of time and money. read more

My first visit with Brandy was so quick and painless and her calm energy put me right at ease. I don't know why I wasted so much time and money waxing before! Tattoo removal results have been minimal after 2 years. I get a new person each time and 1 of about every 5 of them check my chart/settings when they feel like it so it feels like they're just winging it. Lately they've canceled multiple appointments because the business doesn't have the same machine at every location. If you're gonna come here you have to be your own advocate and ask for the setting each time so you don't waste as much time as me. Update November 3, 2018 Went to LaserAway for a second opinion and learned so much more about tattoo removal than this place could ever tell me, from a nurse. I regret not having done so sooner. DrLaser initially had me come in every 6 weeks (A BIG NO NO) for treatment causing scarring. After coming here nearly 3 years they were just booking me whenever I wanted (every 8 weeks) and appeared clueless about the progress when I had questions about it. Little did I know, my skin was not being given enough time to recover in between sessions. Every skin type is different but mine is a 4 and i experienced hyper pigmentation, could it be from DrLaser's clueless technicians? Who knows. Service was excellent and my provider did a great job with making me feel comfortable even though a Brazilian laser treatment is a bit embarrassing. Trouble is don't be fooled. I bought the six-treatment package from Groupon and it is a waste of money. I am shaving just as much as ever before and ended my treatments at the end of fall 2021. I later learned that a package of six-treatments is not enough and you really need to purchase additional treatments to do the job. If you buy those outside of a Groupon package they end up being unaffordable at my budget and not the deal you think you are getting. I wasted a lot of money on laser treatments and should have saved the expenditure for razor blades. Don't buy a Groupon of six-treatments unless you are willing to buy more. I've been here twice for a facial now and I honestly don't really care for this place. The facials are actually pretty decent, but the office is always a shit show. It took me 15 minutes just to check in and the front desk girl stares at you for awkward amounts of time. When I first met her she almost crushed my hand when she shook it. They constantly try to sell you on things too, which makes me really uncomfortable. This place needs to get itself together. For tattoo removal, find a real doctor. I would highly NOT recommend dr Laser. I've been going here for over 3 years and had 25-30 treatments and my tattoo is nowhere close to being gone. When I started my tattoo removal process 3 years ago, they offered unlimited treatments until your tattoo was removed. They no longer offer that package but make you but sell them individually or in bundles. What does that tell you? Dr Laser is not realistic and tell you what ever they can to sell you. I was told my tattoo would be gone in 6-8 treatments. I was told it would be totally gone, no shadow or any sign it was there. Now I am told i can keep coming back for the next 3 years or 30 years until it is gone because I'm grandfathered in. But absolutely no refund. Ines was my person and she was amazing! She explained everything step by step as she was doing it and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. She gave me a lot of good suggestions for my acne ridden face and I love that she wasn't afraid to really pop my pimples either. My boyfriends mother also got Ines as her esthetician and said she did an amazing job as well. If I lived in the area I would definitely come back for the Hollywood peel, the prices are a bit high but seeing is believing.. and all of the women that work in this office have amazingly glowing skin. I found Dr. Laser through Living Social in 2018. At first, I really didn't like the business, but they have grown on me and I have been steadily going to them for the past two years. I have done micro-needling, laser hair removal, laser skin rejuv facials, and PRP injections. I have not done botox/dysport or fillers at DrLaser as I get that done elsewhere because I believe that an MD should really be the one who does it, but that is just my personal preference. I really love Brandy who is one of the nurses at the MB location. She is awesome and so professional. Everyone here is very friendly. I have noticed that they will not be friendly if you are rude, so try to be courteous, DUH! In regards to A/C...I always find myself sitting in a pool of my own sweat while waiting to be called back when the weather gets warmer. I wish they weren't so stingy with the thermostat. Keep an eye out for specials or ask when you are at the clinic. I feel like they are always willing to put together packages for you at a favorable price. As mentioned above, the staff is friendly, but I have a few reservations about the some of front office's staff professionalism, management skills, and ethics. They are always very pushing with selling every time you come in for an appointment and sometimes they get so busy with checking people in and out that you end of waiting past your appointment time. Sometimes they tell you that your appointment as at one time, but then it will change without your knowledge. Could be a software glitch? Booking or rescheduling appointments can sometimes be difficult as there is only one phone number for all locations and they can get very busy and it goes to voicemail about 50% of the time. A beauty salon experience was supposed to leave you feeling blissed out -- with this one you will be stressed out instead. I'm new to Manhattan Beach, so I bought a handful of Groupons to try out different facialists. The manager at this Manhattan Beach location of Dr. Laser (Alexandra) is extremely rude. I arrived on time and sat down in the waiting area. When for over 5 minutes I was not even greeted, let alone checked in, I got up and kindly asked if they were running really behind. Alexandra said "We are not running behind at all" in a snappy tone. Another 10 minutes later, she finally checked me in -- while making faces and being dismissive. As if she were doing me a favor. I was finally checked in and ready to start 15 minutes past my appointment time. The esthetician was a sweet lady and while the service was not outstanding, it was good. However, the Groupon said it's a 60 minute facial. The treatment lasted 40 minutes. I guess with the 15 minute wait time I had 5 minutes left to ponder if I would ever be back... Not that I needed more than 5 seconds to know that this was my first and last time. read more

I have been coming here for almost 2 years for laser hair removal. I am disappointed with some recent bad experiences. During bikini laser hair removal, Nurse Bich (pronounced "Bick") accidentally lasered a spot in an area that I did not want lasered. Now I have a small bald spot. I consulted with a dermatologist who said that it may be permanent. Bich also missed a majority of my bikini. When I asked her about it, she said "No no because I did fast and you don't notice." Trust me, I have had laser hair removal on my bikini area over a dozen times and I know which spots are hit and which spots aren't. She missed an entire zone, huge area! Even worse, she refused to do the area when I showed her what was missed. The only nurse that I have been happy with is Heather. Bich and a few other nurses have done a poor job targeting the bikini line and I have seen no results from the work of these nurses. On a positive note, Heather is an amazing nurse and very skilled at laser hair removal. She is thorough and listens to feedback. She takes a lot of time to understand exactly what boundaries you want lasered and targets stubborn hairs that have not been receptive in past treatments. I will make sure to only request Heather in the future. read more

Ugh, I keep hoping my experience here will change but unfortunately it just goes from bad to worse after probably 8 or so visits. I initially came in due to a Formosi deal for a facial and after a good initial facial experience, I was basically pushed into buying a facial package for around $500. Fine. They're definitely EXTREMELY pushy at every visit to try to get you to continue to buy more treatments and keep trying to sell you before they let you book your next appointment. But here's the prime source of my frustration...on my second or so visit I really my esthetician, Miriam. She made great recommendations and wasn't scared to get into the extractions. After that I tried to book all my appointments with her which I was assured was no problem. In 5 subsequent appointments, only 2 have been with her...Two were with someone I asked to never be paired with again after the first experience and yet it happened again despite specifically requesting Miriam. I normally go into the Manhattan Beach location, but my schedule changed, so I went into the Santa Monica location today specifically to see Miriam. I showed up, only to get someone else! When I mentioned it, the girl at check out very rudely told me that there was no guarantee I would get her since schedules change. I understand that, but I've never been somewhere where they don't call to inform you of a schedule change. I would have much rather just scheduled for a different time to get my appointment with the person I prefer. She also literally said, "so what do you want?" in a super rude tone at check out. My experience here is always so inconsistent. Some estheticians give an awesome massage with the facial, some won't touch you at all for extractions, it's extremely frustrating to not be able to get the service you want considering the amount you pay. And on top of that, I get consistently really rude service both in person and when I call to schedule. It's just unbelievable how poorly they treat customers. If I could just get a refund and forget the other 3 treatments I would. read more

Spa treatment or sales presentation? My fiancé and I came in for 60 minute facials which we got on a groupon. After reading reviews we were excited about getting facials done here but the experience was subpar. What we thought would be a relaxing and enjoyable experience was anything but. Both of our aestheticians seemed more focused on selling a package of facials (for half price) rather than focusing on providing a relaxing and enjoyable experience for us. Only 10 minutes in, she started talking about the packages. Also, our 60 minute facials were 35 and 40 minutes respectively. So glad we didn't pay full price. And after my facial, my aesthetician disappeared, never returning to ask me how my experience was or offer me water. NEVER AGAIN. When I asked the lady at the front desk why our 60 minute facials were way under 60 minutes, her response was that the facials are up to 60 minutes but depending on the person, everyone requires a different amount of time. me: *Blank stare* She then went on to ask us if we'd like to purchase a package deal of facials for half price. Honestly, I wouldn't even pay half price for the service I received today. My pores are clean and my skin looks good but it definitely wasn't the experience we were expecting. Came here for a facial with my mom as a gift for her but I usually do facials every 4-6 months.. They were nice to accommodate same time appointment for 2 but I had to call 2 weeks advance to get a same time appointment for 2 people. The facial was really relaxing and amazing. The Esthetician got all my blackheads out and gave me an amazing neck and chest massage which really helped a lot after having a long week at work. The steamy facial felt great for my skin as well. My mother also really loved it and seem to really connect with her Esthetician! What's great also that my Esthetician gave me great recommendations on what to use. Except I forgot to get that list she had for me before I left! The only thing I didn't like about it was when I came out i felt like i had to be forced to buy a package. Which I hate being pushed. As a business owner myself I understand sales is an important thing for a business, therefore I understand the importance of this. But when I'm being pushed and I prefer to come at my own pace and the reception has a huge attitude because I don't want to sign up for a package makes me feel turned off to not want to come again. I had an appointment for 12:30 pm so I arrived 12:15 when i checked in on the front desk this lady ( supposedly the manager) told me that they would not be able to see me.... what?
