Worst experience ever! the nurse who did my botox hit a nerve and my eye droooped!!!!

BID YOUR $$ GOODBYE!! early Aug - paid 50% deposit after consult with medical consultant because was told it was required to book meeting with Dr. Kara and get confirmed surgery date. Consult date with Dr. booked late Sept because I was told they are "very busy". Was told full amount of fee was due in Sept (before consult date) good thing I waited or I would have been out by an even higher amount. Received text cancellation - a few days before appoint date. Been trying to reach out since to get resched/refund of deposit. no way of reaching them anymore. all text, calls, emails unanswered. clinic location I initially visited for consult always closed, their website still says open for business. Dr. Kara performed by breast augmentation which went well, and they did look good. 3 months later I started having unexplained health issues. After researching my issues I came across an article about breast implant illness, and everything made total sense !! I had them removed by another surgeon at 8 mths and found one had ruptured!! No wonder I was sick!? Please do your research before putting toxic foreign objects in your body !! I could have used dr Kara remove then however he didn't seem to believe in Breast implant illness and he thought I should keep them despite being ill cause they looked good . read more

Total too off! They use DYSPORT instead of Botox, which is cheaper for them per unit however they charge the same price AND you need double the units for tge same effect as Botox. They lied to my face when I went back to find out why the injections did no have an effect however wanted me to spend another $380. I've never Had to do that in past 8 years ever! They told me they would review the file and call me back... they never bothered. All they want s $$$ with no regard for quality!!! read more

I first saw Dr. Kara in the fall of 2016 for liposuction of the flanks. Before choosing him as my Doctor, I made it a point in my consultation to ask and clarify that he does revisions if something may go awry and he confirmed he did. Sure enough, my sides (flanks) were not even after healing... not even close. I returned for my revision after the one year wait, when he told me I need to remove skin to fix it (at my own cost) and I stated that type of surgury isn't for me. As I don't see excess skin on my body, I went for a second opinion and that surgeon informed me follow up liposuction would remedy the problem. I went back to Dr. Kara's office and spoke with his surgical assistant, Melissa, and told her all of this and that I wanted to go forward with my revision and after further discussion and some added pressure, I hesitantly agreed to get additional liposuction for my stomach and thighs as well. This was presented to me in a way that made it seem with these added areas, it would be worth his time (as opposed to completing the revision for free like originally promised). This all went through Melissa who was confident in this surgery and my date was set. I took the time off from work, paid for the medication that was required, showed up at the hospital ready to go. The nurse informed me to strip down into just surgical underwear and gave me pre-surgery medication, which included a heavy pain killer that had an immediate effect. Dr. Kara then walked into the room and had me stand before him in just the paper underwear, medicated and told me I wasn't going to be happy with the results and I need to decide if I wanted to move forward while making it clear he wasn't going to do the surgery. This is the part where I HIGHLY recommend NOT using him as your doctor as he had me standing there naked and medicated, prepped for a surgery I was promised (and recieved 2nd opinions on that it was the correct surgery for me) and then told me well you may not be happy and there was "miscommunication" between him and Melissa - there was never once an apology just excuse after excuse making it clear he wasn't interested in following through with what we had discussed. I have never felt more vulnerable and taken advantage of in my life as I had gone to two consultations prior to the surgery day and at no point were any issues brought up, this was all new information I was receiving while naked and medicated. I told him his excuse of miscommunication was unacceptable and he then told me "medical mistakes happen all the time - doctors operate on the wrong hand, tools are left in patients - it happens" which only put my back up further and left me feeling incredibly uncomfortable. I was sent home from the hospital only to learn the pain killer that was given to me prior to surgery was actually supposed to be given AFTER surgery and could have had detrimental effects. After being promised a refund upon leaving the hospital, a TWO week battle with his staff had to happen for me to receive my money back. When I finally received my own money back for a surgery that didn't take place, it was paid to me in installments - post dated cheques - over the month of April and Melissa nor Dr Kara were willing to speak to me to discuss the refund. If you've had plastic surgery you know in order to receive a surgery date, you must pay the full amount upfront but the same courtesy was not extended back to me. Dr Kara was unapologetic for his actions and even more unapologetic was his surgical assistent Melissa. They placed the blame on one another and took no accountability for the part they played to have me end up in such a horrible situation. This is not a doctor or staff that deserves the trust of patients. Also my flanks, an $8000 dollar surgery, are still uneven and lopsided even though the promise of a revision was provided without issue at the first consultation. read more

I had a surgery here a year ago and I have had such an amazing experience. Every single appointment I was met with kindness, professionalism and care. Dr. Kara was professional, honest and so sweet. His team is super (especially Shelby and Zehra ). The aftercare has been phenomenal and have made me feel like they care, even after they have your money. Nothing but perfect Customer Service! This doctor is poor. His work is sub-par at best. He has made me look disfigured and my self confidence has plummeted. I have been mislead by both him and his office staff that I would have been pleasantly pleased with the results. The procedure he performed was several thousand dollars and is seeking more to correct what he missed. Second of all, he has poor bedside manner. He mocked me during my assessments. For what it is worth I have also been billed for work that was never done (I know this because I requested my OR report) He has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to acknowledge my concerns except for passing me on from one member of his staff to another. Seeing as there are other surgeons that perform the same work, it would be in your best interest to go elsewhere. You'll be glad you did. read more

If you are considering using Dr. Kara, RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM THIS DOCTOR. This was the worst experience I have ever had in my entire life. This doctor treats humans like garbage and is in it for profit and profit only. There were so many violations to the patient care act, if we wrote it down, it will be at least five pages. Please ladies, if you plan on having plastic surgery done, never use the site ratemymd and similar sites as physicians can pay this site to have bad reviews removed. Always check the CPSO to see if there is any active investigations against him. As we found out that Dr. Kara has been on probation for a year and a half. Gone to this clinic for 3 years. Saw same nurse and was very satisfied. They restructured office and let staff go including the nurse. Saw new nurse and she over sold and I believed she knew why she was doing. End result, poor result with marionette lines. Dr. Kara tried to fix but no change. Dr. Kara then offer me to be a patient for training and I could get filler for free to fix my not being satisfied. I was told a couple months, heard nothing, called, they said maybe another month as they have to wait for nurse trainers, waited another 3 months, called and left voice mail and have not had a follow up to date over 2 months now. All this started in Dec. 2016. Very poor customer service. I feel they should at least stay in touch with the customer even if this was to be delayed either way. Very unsatisfied. I Do NOT recommend Dr Kara and this office/staff. I had a lower body lift with Fleur de lis tummy tuck and liposuction to flanks and abdomen in Aug 2017. Immediately after surgery I expressed displeasure with the results and left over skin. And by leftover, I mean handfuls (I had lost 100lbs). They told me I had to wait 6 months to see full results. Well 6-7 months later the results have not changed. I have been trying to work with Dr Kara and Melissa regarding revision surgery since Feb 24 and just keep getting the run around. They told me it will be another $6,000 (on top of the $19,775 I already paid) to take any more skin. Only after I questioned discrepancies on my OR report (it appears they never did the lipo I paid for) did they finally start to do anything. They said me to come in for a final assessment and would put together a 'case cost' to breakdown only the expenses they would pass on to me. Oddly enough the grand total was still $6,000. I have spoken to a former employee of Dr Kara's and they told me this 'case cost' is just a waste-your-time ploy! Which is likely true because I have requested a detailed outline of this 'case cost' and still have not received it. I have had 3 additional opinions from surgeons in the GTA and was told I need the entire procedure done again!! Or at a minimum a full tummy tuck and then lipo/fat transfer to fix my bum. Please do not get sucked into Dr Kara and his office - they just pass you around and around when something needs to be fixed afterwards. I have learned that revisions are common in plastic surgery but Dr Kara can't handle this part of the process and gets defensive. I have him recorded in my last assessment where he constantly interrupts me when I try to talk and then mocks me by saying "If we could do that we could really do amazing work with the whole body, I could probably than pull your face down to here too". Good Day Ladies and Gents. On June 5, 2016 @ 2pm I had my very first BA. I was a lopsided B and am now a 34DD looking darn even and voluptuous with beautiful height!!! I had 560cc Allergen Gummy Bear Gel-HP Extra Full implants. I am officially working on 6 weeks postop! These ladies look FABULOUS. Apprx. 3 months ago I first made an appt with Dr. Kara's office and was greeted by a lady of the name Justine. She is super nice, down to earth and has probably heard it all. "Advise Ladies and Gents"....BE HONEST WITH HER, tell her what you want and she will aid in advocating your wishes to the brilliant Dr. Kara. He recommends a conservative size and if you want BIG then you need to be honest so they can work with your wishes without hindering your health. Recovery was a sinch! I didn't run or go back to boot camp classes in 24 hours.....but I was up and power walking NO PROBLEM by day 5 in Heber Downs and at 5 weeks I am now back to bootcamp classes rocking these gorgeous girls! Dr. Kara and Justine have strict rules with respect to recovery....LISTEN to them, I am in topnotch health and looking tickityboo because I did! They have lots of information to give, so take notes, I didn't and ended up "border line harassing" Justine via texting questions that were already discussed in our face to face meetings. ......shockingly...she doesn't seem to mind....I think shes immune to crazy people like me?? HA HA HA. These folks really do whatever they can to make sure you're happy, healthy and the tone of the office is relaxed, professional and no judgement. Just be your self folks! I highly recommend the office of Dr. Kara and his team for cosmetic surgical procedures. I will be going back for a consult on Latisse and will probably talk to their office about Botox. Keep my wrinkles at bay! I would also like to commend Dr. Kara's OR surgical team........I was a cry baby...yap......I was wimpering and had tears pouring down my eyes as I was laying down on the OR bed....I was petrified....they were so sweet and totally understood my nervousness and anxiety...their warm personalities and empathetic charisma certainly helped. Its funny; I remember the OR team asking me where I would want to travel too; and as I describing Fiji-I was suddenly asleep (I guess) and it seemed like 10 minutes later I woke up.
