I had a comprehensive exam and gum grafting with Dr. Alec Temlock, and the experience was amazing…read more He explained everything clearly and made what sounds like a scary procedure feel easy. I took oral sedation and woke up at home with just a few stitches -- smooth and stress-free recovery. It's been about six weeks, and the results look completely natural. Dr. Temlock and his team are professional, kind, and truly know what they're doing -- hands down the best periodontal clinic in Nashville!

There are not enough stars in the world to describe Dr. Temlock and Nashville Periodontal Group! I…read morewent to go see Dr. Temlock at Nashville Periodontal Group in his Nashville, TN office (they have a Brentwood, TN location too) after I went to another local periodontist that my general dentist referred me to. The experience with the other Periodontist felt rushed, uninspiring, and it felt like they just wanted my money and required a deposit to schedule my surgery after 15 minutes with the staff and maybe 5 minutes with the doctor. So, I wanted a second opinion, and I am so happy I did! First, I want to talk about Dr. Temlock. He spent an entire hour with me at my initial consultation, and he really took the time to explain everything to me in terms that I could understand. I've never seen a doctor or dentist spend that much time with me! His chair-side manner was a 10/10, and I felt totally educated about my periodontal issue. He was there to answer all my questions, and he helped guide me through the anticipated surgery so I could make the right decision for MYSELF! He was so kind, patient, and genuine. This was almost the exact opposite of what occurred at the first periodontist's office. Second, his staff was super nice, and they helped me out every step of the way regarding the logistics. They need to be mentioned here too because they were so awesome too! I was very anxious about my surgery, but Dr. Temlock's knowledge, skills, confidence, and experience really put me at ease. I chose to be sedated for my procedure (and this was the best money I ever spent throughout the whole situation!), and I do not remember anything! I needed a really bad/cracked tooth removed, a sinus lift, and bone graft so I could get a dental implant. Sounds scary, right!?! Not with Dr. Temlock and Nashville Periodontal Group's staff! Everything went just as he explained it at the consult. He even called me the next day to ask how I was doing and answer my questions. I've couldn't believe the doctor actually called me instead of the nurse! Dr. Temlock really does care about his patients, and he even gave me his phone number in case I had any more questions over the weekend. Lastly, I returned to the office for my follow-up appointment about 3 weeks after the surgery, and Dr. Temlock saw me, took time to personally evaluate the surgical area, and answered all my questions again. I thought I was only going to see the assistant/nurse from Nashville Periodontal Group that day, but Dr. Temlock was the one who entered the room. I couldn't believe it! Dr. Temlock reassured me that I was healing great and right on schedule, and Dr. Temlock explained that everything was on course which helped calm down my anxiety too. Overall, I cannot thank Dr. Temlock and the staff at Nashville Periodontal Group enough! Everyone is so professional and understanding. From the first time I met Dr. Temlock through the last goodbye, I cannot thank him enough. Now that everything major is complete, I am going to get my teeth cleaned with Dr. Temlock's hygienists and alternate between my dentist's office and Nashville Periodontal Group. The whole team at Nashville Periodontal Group are going to make sure they keep a close eye on all my teeth and gums into the future, so I know I am in good hands as Dr. Temlock and all the staff at Nashville Periodontal Group will continue to monitor the rest of my teeth and gums to hopefully minimize and prevent any serious issues in the future. After my experience with Dr. Temlock and Nashville Periodontal Group, I now know that my voice counts and my concerns will be addressed with professionalism, respect, empathy, and truly individualized to my specific needs. I cannot say thank you enough to Dr. Temlock and the staff at Nashville Periodontal Group, and my only advice is that anyone out there needing Periodontal or Dental Implant Surgery visit Dr. Temlock before making any decisions. I guarantee you will be astonished about how different the patient experience can be when compared to other providers!

We first met with Dr. Haley two weeks prior to the procedure, and he took the time to walk us through every detail. He explained what to expect before, during, and after the surgery, which helped ease both my daughter's and my concerns. On the day of the surgery, Dr. Haley and his staff made sure she felt completely at ease. His calm and reassuring demeanor made a big difference in reducing her anxiety. The procedure went smoothly, and we were impressed by how organized and professional the entire team was. What really stood out was the recovery. Thanks to Dr. Haley's skill and precision, my daughter had minimal swelling and discomfort. She was up and feeling like herself again much quicker than we anticipated. We're very grateful for the excellent care she received and would highly recommend Dr. Haley.

My 18 year old college student recently called me from her dorm literally crying in pain saying her jaw hurt. We got in with our dentist same day and were referred to Endodontic Associates as it appeared a nerve died in a tooth that had a cavity filled a few years back. They got us in within 25 minutes, diagnosed her, and to my great surprise offered to do the root canal the same day. My daughter came out of the procedure saying that it went smoothly and she had no pain or discomfort throughout. She reiterated how friendly, caring and nice Dr. Sparrow and his staff were. He explained everything and even drew a diagram to show my daughter exactly what to expect prior to getting started. She woke this morning to no pain and was back to her typical self. Thank you for getting my girl out of pain so quickly. Every single person I've encountered at this office was friendly, knowledgeable, diligent, courteous, and helpful. From reception, billing, assistants, nurses and doctors...amazing every step! We are so grateful:)

Stay far, far, away from "Dr." Hancock. I just went thru one of the most traumatic experiences of…read moremy life and I have Dr. Hancock to thank for almost killing me. On Monday, November 15th, I bit into a Wheat Thin which caused a dormant abscess to rupture in my lateral incisor. Over the next 48 hours the pain became progressively worse until Wednesday night (Nov. 17th), when the pain became unmanageable. My pain scale was a 10 out of 10. No sleep, no appetite, no work, I paced around the apartment I share with my girlfriend digging my fingernails into my surrounding jaw to help alleviate even an ounce of pain. All I had to do was make it to my appointment with Dr Hancock and everything would be okay. At least that's what Dr. Hancock kept telling us... "I promise you'll have immediate relief" were his go-to words to be exact. Fast forward to Thursday, Nov. 18th, after the "root canal"... and as we get into the car I can't help but continue to cry at my level 10 pain. Weren't things supposed to be at least a "little" better? By the end of the night I wanted to kill myself, literally commit suicide. That's how horrible the pain was. My only option at this point was to take a ONE-DAY prescription of Hydrocodone Dr. Hancock's office had prescribed which did absolutely nothing for the pain. It was like someone had drove an ice pick into a bundle of nerves in my mouth. The next day, Friday, we are at his office at 7am as soon as his doors open, begging for help. At this point I couldn't even speak and was having to drip apple sauce thru a corner of my mouth. Before we can even sit me down in the chair we are being told by his staff "we can't give you any more pain meds", without even having asked. I didn't want drugs! I wanted to sleep, eat, and work again. I thought I was going to die. Dr. Hancock then comes in, pries my mouth open against my protest and begins pressing his thumb sternly on my surrounding teeth. What was he doing? Well, turns out he thought I was a junky looking for pain meds because as I'm jumping anxiously in the chair with each touch he sternly remarks "I'm not even touching the tooth so I don't know what to tell you"! No shit Sherlock, but abscesses can spread thru the jaw, and secondly, I was by this time emotionally traumatized, so yes I'm a little jumpy. My girlfriend sat in the chair sobbing, asking for them to help us. Dr. Hancock then informed us that we had two options, we could pay to go to an Endocrinologist Specialist... or.... He could pull the tooth. No X rays, no tools or instruments to get a better look... just his thumb pressed down hard in my mouth and this guy was telling me he couldn't do anything. We opted to go to the Specialist in a Thompson Station, but they were not able to do the procedure until Monday, Nov 22nd. I just had to make it thru the weekend. I made it one day before I was in the ER at Centennial Hospital where an amazing doctor was able to help with prescribing pain medication and prescription Motrin that actually worked. We had tried reaching out to the After Hours Rep for Hancock but she refused to call us back and simply wished us luck thru text message. To be clear, my pain was so bad at this point that I didn't even realize they had given me the first dose of Dilaudid. Monday comes around and the specialist, Dr. Austin Carr, of Endodontic Associates, could not believe what he saw when he broke thru the tooth during my procedure. His words verbatim were that it was an "eruption" of pus, "I'm so sorry nobody believed you", "we should have gotten you in here sooner", "no wonder you were in so much pain", and it goes on. When my girlfriend asked how there could be so much pus only 4 days after the first procedure, he said "I don't know, it shouldn't be". I left the OFFICE with ZERO PAIN. What Hancock did was negligent to the nth degree, prejudice, and against all code of ethics he swore to uphold. You can bet your ass I'll be seeing them in court. Thankfully I didn't listen to him and kept the "perfectly healthy" tooth. Shame on you Hancock.
