We chatted a bit about why I have a frozen shoulder and then he did acupuncture and left me on the table for about an hour. He sent me home with some pills and patches and told me to come back on Monday. Surprisingly, today (Saturday) I woke up with more mobility and less pain in my shoulder. I certainly didn't expect to see improvement that quickly. So far, so good. Update: I just checked my credit card bill and they charged me 3% more without telling me that they add 3% for using a credit card. Knocked off 2 stars for that sneaky move. I hate when people aren't upfront! After my second visit on 5/26/25, I was in tremendous pain after Dr. Wen tried to "break up the crystals" in my shoulder with his elbow. I hope he knows what he's doing because it hurts worst now than before and also set me back instead of moving me forward. I also asked Bella about the 3% credit card transaction fee and she pointed to a small sign on the glass showcase. Yes, they do charge a 3% credit card transaction fee but they have a 10% discount if you pay cash for 6 visits. This is definitely more about money making than making people feel better. So far they have added on pills, patches and oils which add significant costs to my bill. Not sure if I can continue coming to this expensive acupuncturist. I don't remember the last acupuncturist that I went to being so expensive.

I remembered that he graduated from the best traditional Chinese university in China which is the Shanghai traditional Chinese medicine school. So I searched nearby acupuncturist, sure enough I found this practice. Even though the webpage says he has been practicing for 16years I think that is old information. If he is the acupuncturist I saw back 20 years ago, then I highly recommend him. I had a serve case of back pain at that time, I couldn't even sit for half an hour, and tried everything desperately. I had MRI which showed a serve herniated disk but no nerve pain in my legs or feet. So the doctors told me it was muscle spasm. He prescribed me various meds, but Pain killer knocked me out for 16 hours and muscle relaxant made me talk slow and funny...Western medicine has no effective ways to deal with pain except to block it with pain killer. I didn't believe in Chinese medicine but Finally i resorted to acupuncturist. To my amazement, after about 5 visits, my back was cured 80%. He said no more visits, you don't need it anymore, which I appreciated a lot. I have since recommend acupuncture to my friends with back pain but always end with: sorry he is Miami When my friends ask for my acupuncturist info. I hope more people with back pain will see acupuncturist because it really helped me, together with strengthening my core muscle .

Turns out it was eczema and a bad reaction to my new makeup (fragrance/heavy metals/talc). So I had a burn that triggered the worst case of eczema I've ever seen/had! Red/puffy/hard/thick textured skin and completely unrecognizable all over my face! Everything irritated it from organic aloe, Manuka honey, sensitive skin care etc. I tried every eczema treatment I could find online like Gladskin etc. Nothing helped and was getting worse. I couldn't open my mouth without it pulling my eyelids down I was so inflamed. I place my trust in holistic/Chinese medicine since it's the only thing to give me solutions to my "impossible" problems my whole life. I remember seeing Dr. Chen's work on some other patients with eczema a couple months ago so I made an appointment determined she could fix me in a month like the other patients. She was so sweet and caring. I could tell she genuinely felt for me when I walked in.. She told me my face was "hot". Now, I'm familiar with Chinese medicine. It's all about balance. In the past my gut was like a "cold/swamp" meaning I needed "desert" to balance it. So when she said "hot skin" I realized my extremely hot baths aren't helping. I made it a point to take warm not hot baths and to rinse with cooler water. Washed my face with cool water too. She told me to stick to a gluten free diet. I'm already on the carnivore diet for my histamine intolerance so she said no mangoes or pineapple and to limit honey. Gave me a very relaxing acupuncture session. Then sent me home with herbs to make a topical tea out of and an herbal tea to take internally. (I'm breastfeeding my 10 month old still and all was safe, no reactions for either of us.) 2 hours after I left her office I made the topical tea.. I soaked a wash cloth in it and placed on my face for 10 minutes. I kid you not, when I took the washcloth off my face my redness went away 80%!! (See photos below). My boyfriend was even blown away! Every day was a DRASTIC healing difference. Today is 7 days exactly from my first visit and my skin is beautiful and perfect again! I'm 99% better. Ever so slight redness in 2 spots and slight texture left but no one would even notice except for me. The last 2 days I even slacked and only did one topical tea application and not the directed 2. So I'm sure tomorrow I'll be 100%. She told me to moisturize as well. For my moisturizer, I used Silver Miracles Colloidal Silver Cream and their Colloidial Silver Salve (read their reviews!). They also have a soap that's gentle and amazing (all from Amazon and very affordable). I then got from Etsy a homemade Tallow/Marrow healing cream (also very affordable!). Only day 2, best stuff yet for moisturizer, healing, and softening skin. I recommend as a night cream that won't rub off on pillows since staying moisturized through the night is half the healing.) I think this is important to note: Dr. Chen works with great intention. So when receiving help, follow her direction with intention and the intention that you WILL heal. I think that's something we've lost as a society and important for results. Overall, this has to be some kind of Guinness world record of healing severe eczema! Thank you Dr. Chen!! I'm forever grateful! (I added pictures with the dates so you can see this is real. I posted a lot so they got jumbled up. After years of hustling at different jobs and not having access to doctors due to not being able to…read moreafford health insurance, I immediately took advantage of my health insurance that came with my job when I started last year. I asked friends for chiropractor recommendations and decided to go to a place in Dadeland. However, in the first appointment, that chiropractor was already pressuring me to commit to several visits and start financing or paying in full. My gut instinct was get the $10 Xray disc and run the heck out of there. It didn't feel right. The next day, I remember going on the computer and typing in, "chiropractors near FIU," and voi-la! "Campus Chiropractic" popped up. I looked at the address on Google Maps and found out it was right at FIU! I could not believe it. I was also shocked that it is connected to Fisher Chiropractic, which I've gone to in the past after a car accident (thank goodness for car insurance) and had a great experience. Dr. Fisher in Kendall and Dr. Whitford who was working at the Miami Beach location at the time were both amazing! I was having tremendous neck and back pains for a while, so I quickly called to see Dr. Richard at Campus Chiropractic. I was ecstatic when I was told that my co-pay was less expensive than that Dadeland place I went to. At my first appointment, Dr. Richard was very welcoming. I explained to him about my situation and gave him the disc. He was like, "Why did these people take Xrays of areas that aren't even related to your spines and neck," while pointing to my head on the monitor screen. I said I have no idea. He assured that he'd take good care of me and would never make patients commit to certain number of sessions because people get better and heal differently. Every since then, Dr. Richard has been the only chiropractor that I go to and recommend people to. I've been to Campus Chiropractic probably over 40 times since last year (I didn't check-in every single time on Yelp). I was in great deal of pain for years, so I went to get adjusted almost every week. My spine was also curved sideways and it was really hard to turn my neck sideways too. Then as I got better and better after regular visits, I didn't have to go back to get adjusted as often. Now I only go once or twice every 1-2 month(s). Oh! And the Cryoderm Pain Relieving Cold Therapy Spray works like a charm! Dr. Richard would spray the areas that were sore, and it would help a lot. It's like a minty feeling. Earlier this year or late last year, Dr. Richard sent me to another place in South Miami to get another Xray to see how my body structure is now compared to before (health insurance covered it). When he got the results, he went over them with me to show me what improved. He definitely doesn't lie to patients because he shows you the facts. He's also a great listener. I remember one time while lying on the chiropractor table having my neck adjusted, tears just started pouring out of my eyes because I was sad about something. He didn't judge, he listened, comforted me, and said everything will be fine. The office at the time was shared with Reebok Crossfit. After Reebok left, the office relocated temporarily to FIU Health. Now, the office is back at PG6 and it looks different because it got renovated. I love the new office layout because there's no awkward empty gym. The reception is at the front and the office is at the back. The restrooms are in the back as well, spanking clean and nice! They even have shower stalls! Whaaaat! When you make the first appointment, the staff will ask if you have insurance or not, and if you have gotten Xray-ed lately. At the first or second appointment, you have to fill out paperwork, which is standard procedure. Dr. Richard will go over the Xrays with you, ask you questions, and feel the areas that are giving you discomfort and pains. After that, you can get Ultrasound, "STEM" and/or heat pads before adjustments. And payment is taken at the end of each session. They accept cards for sure, probably cash too. Wait time can be anywhere between 1-30 minutes depending on if you have an appointment or not and how busy they are. Some patients may take longer or shorter time. I recommend allocating at least 1 hour before and after your appointment just in case. If you are currently studying or working at FIU, you luck out with parking. If you don't, then there's meter parking right at the front of the office. Overall, I am extremely happy with Campus Chiropractic's services. The staff and Dr. Richard are all wonderful, helpful, professional, and friendly.
