I had a hammertoe that was painful. Saw Dr. Godhania and he recommended surgery. I understood that he was operating on the toe. After the surgery I was in a cast and when it was removed I realized he had done extensive surgery on my entire foot. The recovery was difficult and after the surgical site healed my foot was numb and it felt like there was a rope pulling between the big toe and the second toe. Like others who reviewed him, he didn't give me any explanation, just kept repeating that "your foot is anatomically correct". But I can't feel it except the pulling between my toes. He repeated the same answer. I am several years post surgery and have never regained the feeling of having a normal foot. All this to straighten a hammer toe. What I'm left with is worse than the problem I went in with. Beware...never let him operate on your feet. read more

Dr. Godhania has solved my foot issues. He is empathetic, listens well, is concerned about managing pain, and is careful to explain what he doing at all times. His office staff was courteous, professional, and even called to see if I might prefer an earlier appointment when one became avaiable. If I ever need a podiatrist again, I will not hesitate to return. read more

I would not recommend Dr. Godhania. I went to see him last week for a persistent pain in my left foot. He immediately took x-rays, which was great. I didn't have to wait too long to see him, which was also nice. However, after asking a few perfunctory questions, he spent the entire time talking at a rapid-fire pace about all sorts of information regarding different treatment options that weren't really relevant to my case. I could barely get a word in edgewise with this man! He didn't really ask me about my problem, and just seemed to enjoy hearing himself talk and spout off knowledge. At one point, he remarked that he hadn't had enough coffee yet that day. I think he meant the opposite! Anyway, after he outlined the progression of treatment, he informed me that he would be calling in prescriptions for me but did not even tell me what they were, leaving me to find out at the pharmacy if they were something I could or would want to use. Some of his suggestions were not feasible, such as not wearing any shoes for TEN DAYS. I am a mom and frequently have to drive my kids places, so this is not an option. As it now stands, my foot still hurts and he did not accurately diagnose what is causing it. He stated it may be an inflamed nerve and to take anti-inflammatories, which I do pretty much daily anyway. I wish the co-pay to see specialists was not so much, because I feel that very soon I will have to seek out a new podiatrist that actually listens to their patients. read more

First impressions are important...but when we're talking about a doctor, results are even more important. Still more so, in my opinion, when we're talking about feet (or teeth!) After attempting to self-treat several foot conditions, for way too long, I finally gave in and made an appointment with Dr. Godhania. Dr. Godhania gave sage advice for all of the issues I brought up, and what was suggested has brought welcome relief for my conditions. Cure is hopefully imminent. I, like other reviewers, like his pleasing personality. However, I am compelled to write of my experience so others will not suffer the horrible consequences I am experiencing from his surgery. I went for a bunionectomy. He chose a procedure I was told later had not been taught in Medical School for the last 30 years. He surgically REMOVED (not fused) the joint of my big toe, leaving it shortened and mishapened! The big toe is absolutely crucial for normal walking. You can research this fact. I had to have a second surgery by a different doctor in an attempt to correct the damage. So far I have had two years of pain and physical therapy. I cannot walk with a normal gait. My balance is effected, leading to falls. My hips and lower back are effected. Other professionals have been shocked about the surgery he performed on me and the horrendous effect it is having on my normal way of life. Do your research carefully and thoroughly before choosing your surgeon. read more

Feets don't fail me now! When your dogs hurt, your whole life can suffer. No jumping jacks, no jump lunges, no stairmasters, no dancing in high heels. Oh, wait, only one of those sux to be without. Still, sometimes just walking around can be painful, and even tho I do enjoy laying about with my feet up, it can make you cranky to have work all day on your ouchy feet. So, thanks to Dej (who is in my shoes, so to speak), I checked out Dr Godhania yesterday. One thing I have learned firsthand is, when you are searching for a doctor, don't pick one based on name alone. I thought my last guy would really be able to sympathize with me as his name was Dr Payne. Wrong, wrong, wrong. He spent months on me and made me some "custom orthotics" that did not address my issues at all (he thought I had bunions, the catchall diagnosis for toe pain). Dr Godhania on the other hand (foot), did a little mashing around (ouch!) and some x-rays and nailed my diagnosis, sesamoiditis. Great! I already knew that as I have the internet. He was very straightforward about the treatment options, very explanatory about my films, and very encouraging about my future in exercising. He has sent me on to get yet another set of custom orthotics made, but he swears these will be the be all, end all of, well, them all. So I am reserving a star for future results. Dr. Godhania is a cool dude. He's pretty knowledgeable about the inner workings of feet. It might have something to do with being a podiatrist - but that is neither here nor there. I went to Dr. G after an atrocious experience at the Center for Foot & Ankle Surgery. He took me in after I was refused treatment (because I'd criticized the podiatrist there (oops)) and figured out the real reason I was a'hurtin'. He helped me devise a way to wear a normal shoe on my birthday, after which I had to get back in the damn boot I needed to wear. Again. Because my previous podiatrist was the evil. All visits have been prompt and friendly. I sometimes come in with a bulleted list of questions and he merrily addresses them all. And if I'm lucky, I might even be updating with a review on his surgical prowess. Rawr. read more

I told him that an ingrown toenail might be the cause of my foot pain. He barely even looked at the toe and instead prescribed a shoe orthodic that I did not need because I already had one. He insisted that I go to one particular guy for the new orthodic and said he's the only one in town who can give me what I need. I went there and was charged almost $600 for an orthodic that didn't work and caused me plantar fasciitis pain. When I went back for an adjustment, the orthodic guy asked me how he should do the adjustment. He apparently did not know! Made me wonder about a possible kickback to the doc for insisting that I see that guy only. read more

In my opinion, Dr. Godhania is an excellent Podiatrist. He is not only concerned about his patients but is also practical. Both of my kids have feet that are flat with pronation, which tends to cause them pains in various places. Of course, he prescribed orthotics for both of my children to help alleviate their pain and help with heir alignment. The other podiatrist I had taken them to, wanted both of them to have x-rays, ultra-sounds and very expensive orthotics made. I'm glad I went to Dr. Godhania for a second opinion, not only did I save a great deal of money, and avoid unnecessary treatments, but my kids have happy feet and ankles now. read more

My experience was similar to others in that he and his staff are unreachable by phone.His assistant forgot to give me my boot I was prescribed during the visit. It was the end of the day and when I tried to call to go back and get it, I had to talk to an after-hours nurse (after being on hold for 15 minutes) who said of course I can't talk to him and his staff, it's a large clinic. That is really no excuse. More of an ARC issue than an issue with this particular doctor, probably. I just drove back and found them so it turned out ok but it really concerns me not to be able to reach him and his staff directly. I just have to wait for call backs. He is nice but he was a little cocky and dismissive of my concerns. I am a dancer and he did nothing to offer solutions to help me keep dancing or reduce the down time. Most importantly, my foot is still the same as before I saw him. No improvement using his prescribed treatment - in fact, the boot he prescribed caused me a lot of hip pain - and I will not be having him do any surgery based on what others have said. read more

Dr Godhania was friendly and personable so I liked him during my visit. However, he or his nurse never followed up like they said they would (and as a result, if i didn't have a brain and know it was time to have them removed, i'd still be walking around with stitches in my foot--instead I had another Dr remove them for me). Then, I was double billed for his services. I was referred to him for a biopsy but got billed for a consult and a biopsy. Didn't need the consult and all that happened was that I explained to _him_ what we were doing. It was impossibly hard to get anyone on the line to try to fix the billing issue. Dr Godhania also didn't answer a question I had asked him. He forgot I think. I figured i'd ask again during my follow-up appointment. That never got scheduled though, so i guess if i need my questions answered i'll ask my next doctor cause if I ever need a podiatrist going fwd--i'll be going elsewhere. Dr. Godhania is smart, very kind, and genuinely cares about his patients. He was spot-on in my kid's diagnosis and treatment, and we had phenomenal results. I'd give him ten stars if I could - an outstanding physician with a tremendous heart. read more

Dr godhania made such an utter mess of my foot I had to have the surgery redone by another podiatrist that actually knew what he was doing. DO NOT let godhania perform surgery on you! After a relatively straight forward surgical procedure (bunionectomy) I kept going back to him telling him something was wrong - pain, continued swelling, discoloration, bones feeling out of place, and so on. He ordered a ct scan, looked at it and said, "I did my job, it looks fine to me" and documented me as an overly sensitive patient! In addition, his staff were consistently cold or downright rude. No one ever answers the phone and when you leave a MSG it is a crapshoot whether the dr will ever get it. He was completely unhelpful in a dire situation, never bothered to follow up to see how things turned out and was generally a huge disappointment to put it mildly. After tons of physical therapy that did not help and putting up with the pain and complications for six months I went for a second opinion at the center for foot and ankle surgery where dr Hubbard took one simple X-ray and identified a number of problems that needed to be corrected from the previous surgery - one of which was that godhania had not bothered to align my sesmoid bones during the surgery! This is basic stuff. He left my sesmoids so out of whack they were disabling me and would have gotten much worse over time essentially rendering my foot pretty useless. Other corrective actions were also necessary and I am now healing much quicker with less pain, less scarring, no discoloration, very little post op swelling - a completely different (positive) experience. Godhania was a total failure! read more

Dr. Vikas Godhania is nothing short of FABULOUS! He is extremely knowledgeable, personable, thorough and patient. He does a great job and spends time explaining your condition and making sure you understand the treatment plan and prognosis. He is larger than life and so kind and instantly makes you feel like you're in good hands. My mother had a bad infection on her foot and she was referred to Dr. Godhania. He took one look at the condition of her foot and stated that she needed to get to the hospital ASAP and he would see us there shortly to surgically remove the infection and clean it up. My mother was nervous as we weren't expecting this outcome, but Dr. Godhania did an excellent job explaining the situation and making her feel at ease. He successfully removed the infection! He also ordered an MRI to make sure all was well. Unfortunately, the MRI showed that the infection had already spread to some of the bones, so Dr. Godhania later performed a second surgery and amputated two toes. There was a potential that she could lose more of her toes/foot if she didn't heal up, but the wet vac treatment he prescribed and the antibiotics prescribed by the hospital significantly helped the healing process and Mom recovered and no additional surgeries were required. Dr. Godhania checked in with Mom while she was in the hospital and kept up to date on her condition until he saw and released her from the hospital. He even contacted me personally on the phone to explain what was going on and to check on her (LOVE HIM!). She also saw him regularly in his office afterwards until her wound was completely closed and healed. Dr. Godhania has an excellent bedside manner. He never makes you feel like you are just a number and never rushes you through the appointments. Dr. Godhania genuinely cares about his patients. He remembers you and your condition and makes the family members present feel welcome and answers their questions as well. We all think the world of him. His staff is also nice and thorough, and we are typically seen within 10 minutes or so of arriving, which is fantastic! Dr. Godhania is TOP-NOTCH in every way! I HIGHLY recommend him to everyone! read more

I had seen Dr. Godhania mid-last year for some pain in my foot especially when I walk. After initial review he recommended the additional inserts for my shoes and that is the last time I had experienced foot pain. His approach is very simple and very cost effective. He made it very clear that he can give me the "Shot" if I insist, but here was no need. I really appreciated his honesty and his approach to simple medicine. His dealing with me was very comforting and put me at ease. I was expecting some major issues, but within 5 minutes of my visit he removed my fears. He explained the technical things in simple terms that I could understand and answered all my questions. I can confidently recommend Dr. Godhania for anyone who has foot related problems or injuries. He may treat the average patient just fine, but I had an infection after surgery and it was, of course, on a Friday early afternoon. My daughter called his office and carefully explained the seriousness of my case. I could not be seen till Monday By Monday my infection required me to go through wound care for several weeks. I could have lost my foot. I don't trust him to go the extra distance. read more

If I could rate less I would. I went to him initially not knowing what was wrong with my foot. He put me in a large boot(overkill) and crutches. Ran blood work??why?? and ordered an MRI. They called and told me the blood work may be RA. I freaked out!! they should of never suggested anything they are not a rhuemotolgist. The MRI showed some damage. Yet he had me go see a rhemotologist and him several more times. Costing me a lot of money, He said he needed time to decide what needed to be done even though he had my MRI results. I called several times, the only reply I got was hes still deciding on a treatment plan....this was 4 months ago. How does a doctor never get back with a patient??? This is unheard of, I sent well over $350 at his office plus $1700 on an MRI. Since I never heard back I went back to my primary care, started PT and feeling a little better. I would NEVER go back to this quack. read more
