My adult daughter had a negative experience with this dentist. She went in expecting a consultation for her wisdom teeth, but the dentist immediately pressured her into having the procedure on the spot. My daughter preferred general anesthesia, but the dentist informed her that due to health reasons, only light sedation was possible in the office. A general anesthesia would need to be done in a hospital, and would be more expensive. My daughter wanted time to consider her options and called me for advice. I immediately went to the office, but by the time I arrived (just 10 minutes later), she was already in surgery. Some time later, the dentist called me in--not to discuss the procedure or post-surgical care, but to assert that my daughter had "profound psychological issues" because she was agitated when waking from sedation. I was shocked, especially since disorientation after anesthesia/sedation is common. Yet, the dentist was relentless, even instructing me to "put my daughter into therapy." It was a bizarre and unqualified opinion to share, especially given that I was expecting updates on her dental care, not an amateur psychological diagnosis. What was even more concerning was that the dentist failed to inform me that the extraction was incomplete, leaving a fragment behind that later became infected, requiring treatment from another dentist. My daughter, still groggy from sedation, had no memory of being informed about this. Had we seen the many negative Yelp reviews highlighting this dentist's pushy and rude behavior, we would have never gone there. read more

Horrible experience here - I came in for a routine wisdom tooth extraction and left with minor tongue and tooth injuries bc of cold, rushed care and a $122 surprise "operational fee" that wasn't explained. After pushing for answers, they quietly refunded the charge -- then sent me a legal gag order asking me to waive all rights just to keep it. I made a yelp account solely in order to leave a review for Dr. Rostami and her phenomenal staff. I had all four wisdom teeth removed and cannot speak highly enough about this office. I was particularly nervous to have all four teeth removed at once, and the team took plenty of time to answer all of my questions pre and post opp. They were extremely kind, knowledgeable, and welcoming and made the whole process as easy as it can be. They also took the time to quell the fears of my two nervous parents, which I also deeply appreciated! In the proceeding days I had no swelling, and minimal pain. It was hard to believe the teeth even came out. When I had a question about the healing process for one of my teeth, Dr. Rostami found the time to meet with me on the same day to check on the healing sites, reassure me that they were fine, and make sure everything was on track. She goes above and beyond to make sure her patients heal well and avoid dry socket, which took a lot of the anxiety away. I am so grateful I found them! Farzaneth was condescending and not personable. Displayed annoyance when I asked questions during the wisdom teeth removal consultation. When I asked if there were other options besides general anesthesia she said " that is how I do it." When in fact you can get wisdom teeth removed with local anesthesia and/or laughing gas. Front desk never sent me requested documents, probably because I decided not to get the procedure done there. Overpriced, you are paying for the upkeep of a luxury office in downtown DC. Got the procedure done at another office which was MORE affordable and PERSONABLE staff. read more

I was pretty nervous going into the procedure, since it was my first time going under anesthesia, and everyone from her office staff to the dental assistants did whatever they could to keep me relaxed. Dr. Rostami was awesome and caring and has a naturally gentle touch that is very calming. I felt taken care of the entire time and I would definitely go back to her for any other procedures that I would need. Her office was also very flexible with scheduling too. I had last minute work travel come up and they were quick to reschedule it at my earliest convenience without any issues. It's day 2 from after my surgery and there's a slight discomfort, but the pain is so minimal I almost wanted to check in a mirror to make sure the teeth were actually gone! I strongly recommend Dr Rostami and her team. I had a complicated upper implant which involved lifting the sinus, bone grafts etc. and sedation. The entire staff was wonderful -- friendly and very professional. Dr Rostami was excellent. She explained everything thoroughly, listened carefully and answered all my questions. She has excellent assistants, but Dr. Rostami has no bedside manners and does not like questions from patients. @ 1mth ago, I had a procedure done. Because I have an excellent dental plan, I am very diligent about what providers offer and the treatment I actually need. She told me that I would need bone graph and an implant post extraction without explaining the pros and cons. She then offered general anesthesia for the basic extraction. When I asked what medications were in the general anesthesia because I was very sensitive to medications, she asked me, 'what medications do you know' even though I indicated that I was a Pharmacist on the intake form. In addition, she added you are not more sensitive than any other patient. This was my 1st visit to her office. She eventually listed @ 5-6 meds in the general anesthesia including midazolam and propofol. Because I had intense nerve pain, I opted for the local anesthetic which took @ 5mins. When she walked away without communication, no gauze and mouth full of blood, I asked what was going on, she responded 'you're done' and left the room. It was a horrendous experience and I do NOT recommend her. read more

Never actually saw the doctor. Very nice receptionist who told me they were offering a "deal" for a consultation for $99, which for them is normally $400. While I appreciated that they were so up front about the fee, I was pretty surprised because many other places waive the consultation fee because it can take as little as five minutes! I wasnt able to sleep for a week prior to my visit with her, within in two days after the visit and putting Her treatment plan into use, I WAS ABLE TO SLEEP AGAIN AND THE PAIN IS GONE!!! I suffer from dental anxiety and I was so worried about the procedure but from my first interaction with the front desk staff, I knew that I would be in good hands. Princess, at the front desk, is amazing and super helpful! She's quick and eager to answer any questions that you may have prior to surgery. I can not remember all of the dental assistant names but they are super personable and make me feel like family. Now....Dr. Rostami is one of a kind! She did her due diligence to ensure that I was comfortable, understood the procedure, gave me great advice and she was quick with the process (surgery included). I even got a hug upon my departure! I've had two wisdom teeth removed and she's made me feel nothing but relaxed and at home. I have one more wisdom tooth left and I will DEFINITELY be going back to Dr. Rostami. She pulled out two of my teeth, and did a bone graft in the same area for dental implants. She and her assistants were very thorough. I had an extremely negative experience with Dr. Rostami during a consultation for TMD. She asked about three questions and wanted to take x-rays, but couldn't or wouldn't answer my most basic questions about how the x-rays would inform her recommendation as to treatment. She seemed offended by the questions and rudely responded that she "was the clinician." She is in the Montgomery Oral & Facial Surgery and Washington Oral Surgery Associates practices, and I cannot speak to whether this attitude persists throughout them. I did not have a doctor preference when I booked the appointment, and she had loads of availability, which is sometimes very telling. I did not get any sense that she was competent or caring, instead it just seemed like she wanted to spend as little time as possible while charging me more money. It was such a bad experience that I regret paying the low copay--neither I nor my insurance plan should have to pay for this, because it wasn't even a consultation.
