I booked an eye exam specifically for contact lenses. When I arrived, they told me my appointment had been scheduled the previous week -- despite never receiving any reminder, call, or notification. Mistakes happen, so I rescheduled for the next day. When I came back, I was told (same-day) that the appointment was not for contacts, even though that's exactly what I requested when booking. They proceeded to do a regular exam and dilated my eyes without confirming the appointment purpose or telling me it wouldn't include contacts. Then they scheduled yet another appointment -- supposedly to actually handle the contact lens portion. Fast forward to today: I drove to their Laguna Hills office, checked in, waited ~20 minutes, and then was told the doctor "doesn't have time to see me today." No call, no heads-up, nothing. I took time off work for each of these visits, yet after three appointments, I still do not have my contacts. To make it worse, when I called after leaving, the best they could offer was to reschedule me with the same doctor who canceled on me today -- again, no acknowledgment of all the time wasted or effort to accommodate. This office has major scheduling, communication, and customer care issues. After multiple missed notifications, incorrect appointments, and last-minute cancellations, I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

First, I had been having dry-eye issues for some time. I had visited three other optometrists without seeing much relief. And then Laguna Coast Optometry happened. My girlfriend found Laguna Coast on Yelp, made an appointment, was seen within days, and came home raving. I made my own appointment shortly after. Days later, I walked in and met Mai - one of the most genuinely friendly persons on this planet. Without having to wait, Dr. Duong came out and introduced himself, and into his office I went. We had a friendly chat, he listened to everything I said, and he then followed through with a thorough, efficient, quick exam. After the exam Dr. Duong addressed how we might remedy my dry eyes - he informed me of daily-wear contacts and shared the price differences among the different brands. He then let me know that their store was one of a few that had recently received a new type of daily. Obviously the new ones had a higher price, but in order for me to make an informed decision he let me go home with trial boxes of two different types, one of which was the new type. Oh, and when I say they let me go home with some trial boxes, I mean that I was able to try each type for longer than I needed to make a decision. The result? I went with the newest ones, and I couldn't be happier with my decision - a year and a half later. That is, no more dry eye. Second, when I recently spent a summer in New York, Mai was so helpful in making sure I was always in stock of my eye contacts. And they never once charged me for postage, even after I had offered to reimburse them. And third, they have always worked with me to ensure that I have contacts when I need them, even if it means that they send me home with some trial pairs until my new ones get in. And when they have to order, they get here quick. Oh, and if you pay up front, they have it mailed directly to your house within days. I've been a customer for almost two years now, and it'll be a sad, sad day when I move from Laguna Beach, not only because it's a great town, but also because I won't be able to frequent both Mai and Dr. Duong. I'm a starving, broke, sleep-deprived law student at the moment, and these friendly people have made at least one area of my life as easy as can be. I don't Yelp, but when I do, it's because someone deserves it as much as Laguna Coast Optometry.

The entire team is welcoming, knowledgeable and very good at what they do. I had a consultation to determine whether I would be a good candidate. Following the positive outcome, I was able to set up a date for my surgery and go in for the pre-op within about two weeks. The technicians and optometrists I met were great. Each person took time to explain what the tests were for, what my results meant and how the surgery would correct my vision. I met Dr Raoof on the day of my surgery. She explained the procedure in detail and answered all my questions. She made me feel really at ease and in good hands. This procedure was a miracle for me. I've had really bad eyesight and worn glasses since second grade. The second I got up from the operation I could see almost perfectly. I now need a similar procedure on my other eye. After 5 attempts to contact Denisse and being unable to contact Dr. Raoof directly, I wrote the following email to Dr. Raoof. I have not received a response from either of them after several weeks trying. This lack of customer/patient service is unprofessional and is forcing me to seek another doctor. "Dear Dr. Raoof, I have made five attempts to contact Denisse Brito and left messages each time. She returned one call, but unfortunately, I was unavailable, and no further follow-up was made. Given the lack of communication, my wife and I have decided to seek cataract/lens replacement surgery elsewhere.
