I check back about 5 weeks later and was told they hadn't gotten to them because they were backed up. I get a text at almost 7 weeks that they are ready. Pick them up & find the laces dirty, sole yellow & parts of the shoe falling apart/un glued. After a bunch of back-and-forth they agree to repair. They hold the shoes for ANOTHER 3 weeks (I keep calling and texting for update) only for them to tell me they can't repair. More back & forth and them promising to check with another repair shop just to get another message days later saying "it's not worth repairing" At this point it's been 11weeks of back & forth, we pick up the shoes because it's exhausting to keep trying and they couldn't even provide a refund. It's only $40 but the lack of communication and accountability is awful and unprofessional.

Came back Friday 9/25 and his older parents were working and the purse was untouched and not only that, there were black marks all over it there were not originally there. The mother asked me to come back the following Wednesday 9/30 bc the son was sick and they would make sure he was going to take care of it. Came back Wednesday 9/30, it's still untouched (1.5 weeks later after dropping off on 9/21 noon)!!! The dad was furious and I said yes it's not only untouched and there were marks everywhere on the purse that's not there when I first came in; he helped me clean it and gave me some money back. And I felt bad for them so didn't ask for the full refund (if the son asked to pay by cash or on any app, don't! Credit card might be the safest bet especially for someone being dishonest about their services) due to their son could not perform. If you need anything done, try to avoid coming here Monday. Sorry, the son has ruined my first experience and the parents' reputation. First, no communication about being delay (no phone call nothing!) Second, purse was sitting there for 1.5 weeks untouched and charged me already. Third, I didn't ask for a full refund bc I felt bad for his parents, so I let them have my money for the marks that they left on my purse and baby sit my purse for the past 1.5 weeks. The older couple sound honest and sweet and look like some older customers know what's up when I was there!

I have always thought that the best time to judge a business is not when everything goes perfectly,…read morebut when something goes wrong. But let me start at the beginning. I have a pair of shoes to which I have a considerable sentimental attachment, and I entrusted them to Culver Shoe Repair. The result was outstanding. They came back looking as good as new--and, if memory serves me correctly, actually feeling better than new. That alone would have been enough to earn my recommendation. My experience with a suitcase, however, is what prompted me to write this review. The suitcase was a birthday gift from my wife several years ago, so it, too, has sentimental value to me. When I brought it in for a handle repair, Culver Shoe Repair was completely upfront: this particular type of work isn't done in-house, but is sent to a third party. The repair was completed within the promised timeframe, but unfortunately, the handle broke again only a few days after I picked up the suitcase. Things happen. Repairs fail. What matters to me is what happens next. I contacted Culver Shoe Repair and asked how we should proceed. There was no argument, no attempt to shift responsibility to the outside repair service, and no runaround. I was immediately offered a repair at no charge, along with an apology. No further questions asked. I picked up the suitcase today, and everything appears to be exactly as it should be. That, to me, is excellent customer service. It is easy for a business to look good when everything goes according to plan. You learn much more about a business when something doesn't--and Culver Shoe Repair handled this exactly the way I would hope a reputable business would. For shoe repair, I wouldn't even consider going elsewhere. And after this experience, I also feel confident using them for any of the other services they offer. Excellent workmanship, honest communication, and--perhaps most importantly--a business that stands behind the work entrusted to them. Culver Shoe Repair has earned my confidence and my recommendation.

I came in to stretch my boots and when…read moreasked about the price, they gave me a wishy washy answer saying that they would need to see how difficult it is to stretch it, so they couldn't tell me the price. This is their tactic to make you pay more when you pickup so watch out. After a week, I came to pick up my shoes and one was more stretched than the other. The man tried to fix it on the spot but it still was a little less stretched than the other. At the end, they charged me $40 (and I COULD HEAR HIS WIFE YELL "NO, $50!!!" IN THE BACKGROUND). I told him my shoes were Sam Edelman bought at $42 only... and he yelled out, "No! They're expensive shoes! That's why I'm charging you $40 for them!" I ended up paying $40 with mediocre work. That was in 2019 by the way, so they probably charge more by now.
