I check back about 5 weeks later and was told they hadn't gotten to them because they were backed up. I get a text at almost 7 weeks that they are ready. Pick them up & find the laces dirty, sole yellow & parts of the shoe falling apart/un glued. After a bunch of back-and-forth they agree to repair. They hold the shoes for ANOTHER 3 weeks (I keep calling and texting for update) only for them to tell me they can't repair. More back & forth and them promising to check with another repair shop just to get another message days later saying "it's not worth repairing" At this point it's been 11weeks of back & forth, we pick up the shoes because it's exhausting to keep trying and they couldn't even provide a refund. It's only $40 but the lack of communication and accountability is awful and unprofessional.

And I felt bad for them so didn't ask for the full refund (if the son asked to pay by cash or on any app, don't! Credit card might be the safest bet especially for someone being dishonest about their services) due to their son could not perform. If you need anything done, try to avoid coming here Monday. Sorry, the son has ruined my first experience and the parents' reputation. First, no communication about being delay (no phone call nothing!) Second, purse was sitting there for 1.5 weeks untouched and charged me already. They came back looking as good as new--and, if memory serves me correctly, actually feeling better than new. That alone would have been enough to earn my recommendation. My experience with a suitcase, however, is what prompted me to write this review. The suitcase was a birthday gift from my wife several years ago, so it, too, has sentimental value to me. When I brought it in for a handle repair, Culver Shoe Repair was completely upfront: this particular type of work isn't done in-house, but is sent to a third party. The repair was completed within the promised timeframe, but unfortunately, the handle broke again only a few days after I picked up the suitcase. Things happen. Repairs fail. What matters to me is what happens next. I contacted Culver Shoe Repair and asked how we should proceed. There was no argument, no attempt to shift responsibility to the outside repair service, and no runaround. I was immediately offered a repair at no charge, along with an apology. No further questions asked. I picked up the suitcase today, and everything appears to be exactly as it should be. That, to me, is excellent customer service. It is easy for a business to look good when everything goes according to plan. You learn much more about a business when something doesn't--and Culver Shoe Repair handled this exactly the way I would hope a reputable business would. For shoe repair, I wouldn't even consider going elsewhere. And after this experience, I also feel confident using them for any of the other services they offer. Excellent workmanship, honest communication, and--perhaps most importantly--a business that stands behind the work entrusted to them.
